This particular league tends to have pretty high WAR totals for pitchers ;it uses a 4-man rotation with circa 1965 stamina with resultant high IP totals. That, combined with relatively high leaguewide K:BB ratios and some wonky park factors (some parks have HR factors as low as 0.3 and as high as 1.4) can lead to some really high WAR totals. It's not uncommon for the best pitchers in the league to put up 10 WAR seasons year in and year out (4 pitchers did so in my most recent season).

This guy was a pretty lousy pitcher anyway, but LOOK at those ERAs!
