Salary arbitration status that you are referring to and arbitration as it relates to those with 6+ years of major league service time are two different subjects.

Well, that's strange. Just tested it myself and got the same result you did. Kind of defeats the purpose of having the new CBA rules in effect, IMO. I just never came across a situation that brought this issue to light in several seasons' worth of leagues.

I wish that the new CBA was properly implemented in this regard, I have players leaving and signing for 20 million a year and I get no compensation because they are not comp eligible.

I forgot that in the new CBA, Players acquired midseason can not result in compensation picks. I acquired this player midseason.
