It's that time again, September callups, and once again, Mikula got called up, but not given the certainty to pitch. But this season he's in a much better shape, so far in AA he has settled down from a slow start:
24G 5GS 3W 1L 1S 42.0IP 41HA 20R 19ER 4.07ERA 15BB 43K .261AVG 0CG 0SHO Even though he now has more experience and skills from last year, I still doubt that he would get the ball this September. Last edited by Cuss16; 02-19-2003 at 08:10 PM. |

The 2006 season is over, and just like last season, Jeff Mikula did not get to pitch in the big league, even though he got called up for the second straight year. Unfortunately though, he was placed back on the AA roster at the end of the regular season.
His team missed the playoffs by 1 game, and still managed to win 100 games. Well, he's not old yet, just 25, better luck next season. ![]() His season stats is the same as the post before because he got sent back down after the season finished. Last edited by Cuss16; 02-19-2003 at 10:58 PM. |

Mikula's scouting changed in the begining of the 2007 (his 4th) season. It now says "...he'll be a great reliever in the years to come...". Weird, maybe Kentucky signed a worse scout in the off-season, or maybe Jeff just got a whole lot better...

September 2007,
Mikula is called up to fill up the 40-man roster again for the third straight year, though he has yet to pitch in the bif league. So far in AA he has pitched solidly and consistently but still not major league material yet. His team is currently tied for the division lead, so I don't think Jeff will be pitching this year since that every game will be crucial for Kentucky. 38G 0GS 4W 1L 1S 61.2IP 57HA 30R 30ER 4.38ERA 14BB 65K .242ERA 0GS 0SHO Last edited by Cuss16; 02-22-2003 at 05:10 PM. |

The 2007 regular season ended in dramatic fashion as Jeff's team, Kentucky beat their division rival in an extra season game to advance to the playoffs for the first time since Jeff was drafted.
Jeff got sent down of course again not being able to show his stuff in the majors, but this time he got promoted to AAA!! He is that much closer to his dream... At age 25 he's a little old for minor baseball, but he's still young enough to do some great things in the future. *Kentucky lost in the league championship serie in the 11th inning of game7. final score was 2-1. Half way through the 2008 season...
Oh my God!! Jeff is finally turning his career around, i would have never thought a last picked player will ever have a chance for the majors, but Jeff proves me wrong, check out how great he's pitching this season in AAA:
21G 0GS 7W 1L 0S 41.2IP 48HA 12R 11ER 2.38ERA 6BB 39K .289AVG 0SHO 0CG WOW.... |

Wow...I hope he makes it. I'm frankly surprised he's made it to AAA, and is pitching so well.

2008 September...
For the fourth straight year, Jeff is called upon for the big 40-man roster. Somehow i have this feeling that this is it, this is gonna be his shot, his time to shine, his one shot to show everyone in the world what he is capable of.

Enjoying this thread.
I can't wait for v5. I've never written a dynasty before, but I have some ideas that I think will be fun, so I'm going to give it a try.

He did it!! He made his first major league appearance against Ottawa pitching 1.2 innings allowing no hits no runs no walks and 2 K's. What a debut, i literally jumped up when I saw his stats for the month. This is still hard to believe, a lastly picked player after 4 years of hard work, he still managed to make it to the big time, just plain touching...

This story is just cinderella-like, i would have written an article/story if i were good at writing. If anyone is interested in writing a stroy for Jeff Mikula, please let me know and i'll send over all the neccessary info and probably make a page for it too with pictures and stuff.
![]() ps, i'm gonna continue tracking Jeff, and who knows, maybe he'll be the most dominent reliever of all time.... (most unlikely, but it's always good to dream)

2008 season over!!
Jeff only made one appearence, and got sent back to AAA, his team missed the playoffs again. Still, Jeff showed great ability and i don't think this is the last time he sees major league action.
