I would do the deal and it depends how I would plan on using my players for either team.

Just to update everyone.... I ended up keeping Williams and traded Middlebrooks, and 4 other mid rated prospects for Manny Machado... cost me a bit but I'm covered at 3rd base for ever now...

Totally understand how real life players not living up to their real life standards in a historical league would be disconcerting. However, I play with real life players going into the future. So when Albert Pujols has a bad year and only hits .250 or Justin Verlander has an ERA around league average it doesn't bother me because I know it happens in real life. Also, my league eventually becomes fictional after a while, so its the best of both worlds.

Couldn't have said it better myself...

Take for instance Pujols and Josh Hamilton, I would have called this game crap if they had this year's numbers in the game before 2013 happened.

Yeah, that's exactly how I look at it. I alternate between this and pure fictional. I would never go historical, it's simply not for me.
