I've bought every version of iootp. I love the game, I'm in the top 20 of every ipad related leaderboard. My issue is not that the game is unplayable, it's that's it's not what was promised. It has simple bugs, that have been ignored. Missing features, like a player editor that have been promised for 2 versions. And very, very, very poor communication. First it was we'll push out an update after the hockey game is released. Now, it's we don't know if we will update it at all.... So I ask again, as customers, why should we believe it will be any different come iootp 14? |

The bottom line is, we're going through a lot of growing pains with the hockey game, since it's a brand new product, and putting an FHM update out takes priority over iOOTP at the moment. Believe me, we wish we could just grab a developer and throw them at iOOTP to get an update out, like a larger company could, but we just can't.
So, iOOTP 2014 will be different because FHM will be in a much better place when development on it starts, so Sebastian will be able to devote time to it. Moving forward, since the hockey and baseball seasons start six months apart, he'll be able to devote part of the year to one game and part of the year to the other. Once we get over the hump with FHM, that will be much more manageable. I realize that your next question will be, "Well, that sounds like no more iOOTP 2013 updates will be coming, and updates were promised." Yes, updates like a player editor and Retina display support were promised, and we still want to make those happen. All I can say is, we need to see how things go with the FHM updates that are in the works. Should Sebastian get to a point where FHM is in solid shape and Malte can do most of the work on that game, then I'm sure he will jump over to iOOTP for an update. I'm sorry I can't be more specific right now, but the FHM situation is changing on a week-to-week basis. |

Well, I have no reason to lie. We would never do that to our customers. We appreciate how much people love our games, and we realize that when you're disappointed, it's because you enjoy the game that much. And, yes, we don't want to disappoint our customers, but the struggle with getting an iOOTP update out goes back to the very small size of the company. Most of us don't even get salaries (me included): we get paid based on sales, so of course we want updates to come out so we have renewed opportunities to drum up interest in the games.
Right now, I can't give any kind of timeline on when an iOOTP update will come out. I'd rather not commit to something that may or may not happen. Thanks for understanding. |
