Did you manage to fix the part where titles were disappearing? Also where assigned cornermen disappeared when you arranged fights from the lists?

Too bad you didn't release it in time for our Victoria Day weekend.

(Found a three dollar bill in the pocket of my old peajacket, two more bucks to go!)

I have not explicitly check for these bugs, but as there has been a major re-write and that neither of these bugs have been reported, I think these bug have been addressed.

Cap what I found that worked was in my uni I make sure all the title fights occurred the same day (initially) then saved it and they have been that way ever since (even with title changes) when I simmed out the fights on different days. I guess monday I'll know my answer and cap I found a slick willie (clinton) $3 bill you can have and a wooden nickle from the supreme allah (obozo) if you are interested

I can expand on this over time so in the future we could have all DB records saved/imported to a set of csv files. This would make editing the database in your favorite spreadsheet software very easy.
1. If all you can do right now is export one fighter at a time to edit and then re-import, then it's useless and costs time, not saves it.
2. The Db is already exportable as a csv. do you really not know that?
3. The game I already mentioned has had the capability to import an entire universe via xls for years now and that's a one-man programming show.

I never said that, you can export any number of fighters you choose to select. You can export all of them if you wish. Like-wise when you import all the fighters in the CSV file are processed. It would be rather pointless if it only worked on one fighter at a time.

Yes, the current v2.5 game allows you to export fighter and history records. These are still there.

I have no idea how complex that game is, but TB has a lot of data in its DB. I can add all tables in time, however I have started with fighters as thats the most useful.

You have a private message from me (basically I have a beta version - if you want I'm quite happy to take a copy of your universe and attempt to import it for you).

The wage issue is still there for older cards Paul, I just set up a card using date 07/15/15 and all purses were $100

commentary and action

Just as a bonus, a couple of shots showing the improved sync between action and commentary.

Sullivan landing a brutal hook when it says he does and Sharkey blocking right on time and finally an exchange at the end of the round, that also shows stats.

When the fighters fight ... will they show their original "skin" rather than the default setting ... it'll make the Game more immersive and realistic ...

Also, can't wait for the release, Monday ...

Thank you for the screenshots

That will be a change for the next version Tomas. This is mainly a port to a new engine, that cleans some things up, provider better in fight presentation and add some minor tweaks/improvements. Basically it is a foundation to take the game to the next level.

Thumbs up

THIS IS GREAT TO HEAR, my friend ... I was playing the demo before this ... I didn't like certain things but overall the Game has tremendous potentials ... until I see the same things you have mentioned, along with the rest of these posts, got me excited to cough up the money ... AND the Game will be worth the price and it's really a steal !!!

So importing a universe wont be an issue to the 2.6 version if I read that correctly. Will the following bugs/issues be fixed or adjusted somehow:

1) Fights stopped by cuts (seemed very high in 2.5)
2) Strategies being a little more realistic and true to the allotted number of strategies given (i.e. a fighter with 3 go fo KO wont use that strategy 8 rounds in a row)
3) the math being tabulated incorrectly on the "that's me" option for judging a fight.

For those who are having doubts or trying to understand what exactly this version is or is not. I posted this in the beta forum.
I DO NOT speak for Paul, TB or OOTPD in any way. But Paul did confirm that my understanding of the matter is close to being correct.

My post was in response to this

Quote:
I know the purpose of 2.6 is to get TB to the new platform and then build towards 3.0 from there.

But, in judging from the feedback in the forums I think it might be a good idea, if possible, to include a couple of small new features to keep people interested as reception to 2.6 seems to be lukewarm at this point.

I have spent too many hours to count on this game, including the commentary, testing etc and I do not want to see it die from apathy.

Again, I don't know logistics, but here are a couple of suggestions for new things that would go a long way to rekindling interest in the game and towards 3.0 if it is possible to add them.

1-Tracking career earnings for fighters (This would also entail fixing the purses, which now show $0.00 for fights held before a certain point in time)

2-Adding 20 round fights

3-Add the option for aging to take place based on random spans of years as an alternative to number of fights (1-2 years beg, 1-3 years pre, 2-8 years prime, etc)

4-Ability to edit ranking criteria in game

5-Ability to autoschedule entire cards in the scheduler (Example, hold 6 cards for the month of May of x amount of fights each)

6-Ability to assign random trainers to fighters from mass edit feature

Again, just a few ideas, maybe a couple are feasible, maybe none at all right now. But as mentioned, if a couple could be added, or maybe suggestions somebody else can add, I think it would help the long term health of the game.

And here is my response

Quote:
I understand where you are coming from Lee. But my understanding is that TBCB 1.6 is primarily to get the game using PISD code and a PISD engine. Once that happens then my understanding is that the game will be massively easier to work on.

It would be like changing a game from using C++ to an iOS app. My understanding is that iOS development tools are very user friendly while C++ is powerful it is also challenging and time consuming.

So yes, the game basically is a re-skin. But I think part of the problem is that it was never very well explained to the buying audience exactly what the purpose of this 1.6 game would be.

Hell, I may even have it wrong too.
But this is at least my understanding of the situation.
A good comparison would be OOTP 2006. It was in some ways a step back for the series, but it was extremely necessary. OOTP 6 and 6.5 were Markus stretching the old engine and the old code to it's very limits. He admitted that there were a lot of errors in the engine that could not be fixed because of limitations and other errors that would not be found simply because he did not have the time to go through every single line of code.
It was a hard release and he took a lot of criticism for the game. But it was very necessary to move to the new engine.

TBCB is even more niche than OOTP which is pretty damn niche itself. Unfortunately due to being niche we have to put up with a lot of dissapointment.
If TBCB in some alternate universe was super popular like Football Manager then we would have a staff of 70 working on the game and have a 3-D fight engine and yearly updates.

I am not trying to be an OOTPD apologist or fanboy. There was been a great deal of getting our hopes up, promises not followed through and all around poor communication for years now.
I am just stating what my understanding of this current version is. For whatever reason I feel that it has always been very poorly communicated to us.
As I said before, I may very well have the completely wrong idea of what this is all about. If I do, I apologize for spreading bad information around and I will gladly recant everything I said.
