1874 Amatuer Draft 1st Round
1874 NA Hitting and Pitching Leaders 1874 was a very good year for the Chicago White Stockings. They were able to lead for most of the year and were not really threatened down the stretch. Lots and lots and lots of very weird deals made this season. Cleveland especially getting a lot of young international players for what veterans, will be interesting to see what happens with them next year and in the future. Five new teams will be joining the National Association it the final year of its present structure. After the 1875 season is over, the league will be changing to the National League and all teams that do not belong in the National League will be staying in the National Association, with free agency and a different league structure for the 'new' NA. More on that after the next season. Which will be later tonight.

1875 Overview
1875 Draft Hopefuls 1875 Draft 1st Round 1875 Top Ten Prospects The White Stockings take the early season lead, going 20-8 to get a one game lead on the Atlantics at the end of April. At the end of May, the Chicago White Stockings have solidified the top spot, opening up a better than 5 game lead. Looks like the White Stockings plan to win this one and have stretched the lead by one more game, 8 up on the Nationals, Mutuals and Kekiongas. The best expansion team is the Philadelphia Centennials, in 17th, sitting 37-48. At the end of July, Fort Wayne is making a move on the White Stockings, but Chicago is still 8 games up and with only 27 games left, this would be an very awesome move by Ft Wayne. In the end the White Stockings of Chicago were uncatchable, winning the NA Title by 9 games over the Mutuals of New York.

And we are now to the first league split. In this world, the National Association will be renamed the National League, all the teams except for Chicago White Stockings, St Louis Brown Stockings, Hartford Dark Blues, New York Mutuals, Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Red Caps (formerly the Boston Red Stockings) will be staying in the National League. There will be two new teams added, the Louisvill Grays and the Cincinnati Reds The remaining 18 teams will be moved to the new National Association league, two division will be done and a championship game added. Also free agency for this league and league evolution will be added, for nicknames, relocations. The National League will continue to have real rookies imported and set up in a draft and the new NA will get a 10 round draft of fictional players. So, new faces and new names all around. Trading will be legal between Major leagues but no playoff or associations at this time.
Will post the Leagues set up as they will be soon. Got a little work to do.

1876 National League (NL) Set up
1876 National Association (NA) Set up Havent really come up with any good names for the divisions in the NA, cant reallly do them east/west or north/south. The teams were randomly put in each league, trying to get them as close to east west as I could but did want to keep same city teams from being in the same league. There will be new teams added via evolution and some teams may venture out into new leagues when needed but the NA is for the most part here to stay. Only six more years or so till the third league joins the ranks. But that is getting ahead of myself. Not sure how the news, injuries and the like will be done, probably like it has been because too much work to seperate on a per league basis and it is the same world, just different leagues. Will post each leagues pertinent info seperately at the end of each season. The 1876 Season will be posted later tonight, want to get the first two league year under way so everyone can see how it works.

It was the Rockford (IL) Forest City baseball club, not Rochester. Rochester has never had a major-league club.

For whatever reason, I always seem to make that mistake and I have no idea why. I have corrected the mistake and it will be fixed from here out. Thanks for catching that.

1876 NL Final Standings
1876 End of Season Hitting and Pitching Leaders The NL was a tight race throughout the season. Until the end of June, both the White Stockings and Mutuals were in a dead heat. The Mutuals were able to finally pull away by the end of July and were able to hold off the charging White Stockings.

1876 NA Final Standings
1876 NA Hitting and Pitching Leaders 1876 NA Championship The first year of the NA as a two division league was pretty interesting. In League 1, Kekiongas, Rockford, Atlantics, Olympics and the Canaries were in the lead at one point or another. The final month came down to Ft. Wayne and Rockford but Ft. Wayne was able to hold them off to take the League 1 title. In League 2, the Eckfords put on a serious push to try to take down the Blue Legs but it was too little too late. The Blue Legs were pretty much out in front the entire year. 1876 NA Championship Ft Wayne won the inaugural National Association 4-3. Washington opened it with a win, then allowed Ft Wayne three straight wins, only to see Washington win the next two to force a final game. It was a very good series and a very good way to end the new NA format.
