Time line of oopt versions.

Bought every version starting with OOTP6. I just bought OOTP14 and I'm still hoping that one day I can watch my games play out graphically with play by play announcers.

Oh man... I remember my girlfriend back then almost broke up with me in 1998 because I spent too much time in front of the PC, programming OOTP. She couldn't understand why I would waste my time on a hobby baseball game. I got rid of her a couple of years later.

There is only ONE OOTP.

I also tried some NBA management sim that someone has out about a year ago, I think it's on version 3 now and it was an absolute mess. OOTP really is the gold standard. I'd kill for an Out of the Endzone Football game.

I'm with you....an OOTP type of American football management would be ideal. There really is nothing that fills that niche right now. I mean Bowl Bound, Football Mogul really dont have the detail and depth that an OOTP has. It is definitely one that I cant figure why anyone has not really gone after.

As far as basketball, there is a pretty decent college one Fast Break College Basketball, and the guy who did was/is in the process of an NBA game, he had a beta version available a month or so ago, but I had no time to look at it.


On topic, geez, I cant believe I've been here since '01. I have to ask, was there a forum or website before this? I seem to remember moving to these forums (hence why I see a lot of people with the December '01 date). I guess that would put me in around OOTP 2 or 3.

While I have not purchased every edition, I will say that for my money, I've gotten more value out of the OOTP series than any game "investment" I've made. More time, more fun...what's to say?

I think you are right about a forum move, I vaguely remember that myself.
