Julio Teheran takes the mound for us to try and avoid the sweep. I wonder which Rays team will show up tonight... ----- ![]() ----- Well, well, well, this team continues to surprise me. Just when I thought they would fold for sure, they came roaring back to an impressive victory. We had come back to tie the game after, of all things, a Desmond Jennings home run, but the very next half-inning, Evan Crawford broke up the bullpen's scoreless streak by allowing 2 runs, including a devastating hit batsman with the bases loaded. But we came up with one heck of a rally in the 9th - after a single and a walk, Addison Maruszak grounded one to short that should have been a double play ball. But shortstop Cesar Hernandez flubbed the play, and we took advantage, putting up 3 in the frame. Beleagured Philadelphia closer Michael Stutes blew his third save in six opportunities this year. |

We're finally back home, which means we finally have a DH again. I may be a baseball purist and believe the DH should never have been introduced, but this team was built around having one. It's good to be home, even if "home" is Tropicana Field. We also jumped in the Power Rankings, to a whopping 18th place. Anyway, we face the Blue Jays today. They're a game ahead of us, at 6-5, and I'm hoping my pitchers can capitalize on the Jays' lackluster lineup. Brett Lawrie is, as usual, tearing it up, but he's the only player in the lineup that's batting over .240. Yikes. Honestly, this team is not good at all, and it ashames me that we have a worse record than them. ----- ![]() ----- It seems like, on any given day, we either fight for every run, or absolutely annihilate the opponent. I'm a little wary about our pitching giving up 8 runs to such a weak offense, but the bats put on a clinic, including a 4-RBI day for Skipworth and two home runs a piece for Carson and Seitzer. David Price is looking REALLY shaky this year. |
