Where can you edit the projected budget? What exactly does this do?

The survey we did a couple of years ago showed just that. That does not mean that we do not care about online leagues, though. The opposite is true, we want many more online leagues! But like I said, that part of the game is the most complex when it comes to technical issues, and with our limited resources it is very hard to improve it as much and as fast as we'd like.

I still find it hard to understand why people enjoy playing against an AI rather than playing against other humans.

It's mind boggling to me to be honest.

I wonder though if the survey you did was accurate or if people who did the survey just happen to be offline players?

For example: I have 28 guys in my league. They all own the game, but they have the game for my league. Maybe 2 of them have ever been to the forums here. They feel almost no attachment to OOTP. They get the game, and they play in the league.

So it could just be Online USERS are less inclined to be involved in the surveys and chat topics and the "loud" people are the commissioners who are representing their 20+ GMs.

The survey went out to all our newsletter recipients (most are current / former customers) and over 4000 participated, so the results are without any doubt extremely accurate We learned a lot of interesting things from the survey, that's for sure!

Exactly, we are offering constructive feedback because we love the game and we appreciate what you do. I just feel that if someone official is going to post about a patch it should include some basic information about the bugs that were fixed (in all aspects of the game).

I'm guessing their data is pretty good and I'm only speculating but I believe OOTP keeps data on how you play and sends it in unless you have opted out.

With regard to solo I don't want to play any other way. My schedule fluctuates and I don't want to be tied something I can't commit to. More important is I have no desire to play with a bunch of guys that argue over what is right or not right. Who's gaming the system and who is playing "fair" etc.

I tried Front Office Football one time and online just isn't for me. Some guys sit at home and run test after test to get to the underworkings of the game. Some of these guys are of course coders and then write apps that analyze all of their data from hundreds to thousands of seasons to give them an edge. In the end I wanted to play "football", they wanted to play "Front Office Football" which was a whole different thing to them. To them, nothing wrong with figuring out how the game worked by running test after test. To them that was the point of playing and separated the good "players" from the bad. Too bad I wasn't a coder too so I could run thousands of seasons while I slept and then had my app dump all of the data to an easy to read report. Then I too would know who and how to draft. That "everybody knows" a QB with (X)IQ would never develop no matter what etc. etc. etc. No thanks.

I love my solo dynasty that I've been playing since 2002 and importing into each new version of OOTP. The game has grown leaps and bounds in difficulty. Pre 2006 I won at will without exploiting anything. Since Markus has been adding in rule 5, waivers, minor league free agency, tightening up trade AI and roster AI I have not been so fortunate. 4 of the last 5 years no playoffs from a former dominating team that is still quite good, and no world series appearance in 6 seasons. No I don't really play with any house rules. I am not a big trader so don't spend time trying to fleece the AI. However when I do go to do trades it is pretty obvious that things in that regard have been much improved.

In the end the game, in solo play, can be both fun and challenging. I can play when I want, how I want. I don't have to worry someone is trying to game the system or flat out cheat. I'm sure things have been tightened up a lot over the years and this is becoming harder and harder to do but it is still and will always be out there. The beauty is we can both play our way and in the end it doesn't really matter if there is more solo players like me or online players like you(hell, I'd love to see online grow by leaps and bounds more money for Markus to continue to develop this great game). It only matters that we are both happy with OOTP.

hey Sweed, a lot of good stuff here.

I'll start a new thread though so we don't muddy the Patch thread okay?

Markus: I don't know if you share this info, but how many people are on that list?

Also when was the survey, I don't remember taking it frankly.

I have a long time league that I have lost my custom uniforms and caps with this install. They've been switched to logo's from the logo project (which I had used for a different league).

I tried restoring and I can't figure out what I can do to stop this from happening. It's never happened in any version changes or patches previously. Any ideas? Anyone else?

EDIT: Thanks to Andreas for a simple work around.

We'll submit the new version to Apple tomorrow. Apple usually needs 7 to 14 days to review and release it. If everything works well.

Well, I don't want to join a league because I don't want to have to deal with a bunch of idiots. When I play solo, I only have to deal with one idiot

Sorry, company secrets The survey was held in 2010 and 2011 IIRC.

Thanks. And recognize it's not your fault. I will have to remember to buy it direct from you guys next year.

Oh brother, I hear you there...my laptop's video went so wacky I could not see a thing, even when I hooked a second monitor to it...so back to Dell to see if it's repairable. And the most recent backup I had NOT on my laptop was on a removeable drive, for OOTP11 and 14 seasons in the past!

I'm glad to see the Act as GM only box but unfortunately, I see the WAR bug is still there.

It would be nice to have games played as a DH appear under fielding stats so you could get a sense of if a guy played primarily as a DH during his career.

Totally fair and I figured you'd say that.

I would be curious to see of all the offline players, how many of them play every day like you would in an online league. With an online league (at least the good ones) there's rarely a day when you don't open the game.

Also I'd be curious if you saw more online users take the survey would that change anything with future releases?
