I am a die hard Tigers fan, but I really enjoyed watching and following the '90 Reds. Back before interleague when they were pretty much seperate entities, the Reds were my 'National League' team, while I still followed my Tigers in the American League. Unfortunately, the '90s would be a pretty painful decade for the Tigers.

Chris Sabo, Jose Rijo, Barry Larkin, Eric Davis, and Rob Dibble still rank among my favorite players of all time, and I really enjoyed watching them play. I took a great deal of satisfaction in watching them sweep the Athletics in the World Series that year too! I think LaRussa is one of the all time great managers, but I never liked the A's, and history would prove out that this team had some skeletons in its closet, so it just made me savor the memory of this season for the Reds.

Thanks. Yep, as I said at the top of the 1st page, watching that 1990 World Series was my first baseball experience from down here in Australia so it has always stuck out as a special one for me also. It's funny, I could have very easily become a Reds fan as I had already picked the Bengals as my NFL team so if I had decided that Cincinnati was the city I wanted to follow I could have picked the Reds as my team in baseball.
