Well, I've sent Sean an email to check...
Unfortunately by the letter of the law, posting the database or any of the files of the database at any other site for distribution is in violation of the liscence agreement you accept by downloading and using the database. I believe the latest corrected version is now available at Warren's site... it's probably worth checking out if you've been waiting for it.

Scott I tried your fixed database and tried importing 1994. I still am haveing pitchers with unbelivable stats. Roger Clemens had nearly 300 wins In 94 and was avg over 30 wins a season looking at his history.
Did I use your improved database wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Scott had sent me his editted files and I was going to use the weekend to work on getting some edited versions done. However, I got wrapped up in some BoS League work and didn't get it done. First evening I get some time I plan on finishing it unless someone else beats me to it.

Malleus, the version I sent IatricSB should be available at Tresclub's site.
http://www.tresclub.com/downloads/downloads.htm Basic Guy, I'll take a look at that season tonight and specifically look out for Roger Clemens.. I know I had no such errors when I tested it, make sure you are importing a version 4.5 database. Also check the file, there should be two readme files, one is the standard Lahman Readme and the other would be the Readme I included... if the date on that ReadMe says April 30th than you should have the latest. |

Thanks, guys. My own roster work is on hold until there's a solid data base to work from.
Thanks to both of you for your good work.

Basic Guy, I just imported the database and had no issues with that season:
Clemens showed up with 1994 stats of: 9-7 in 24 starts 2.84 ERA his other stats appear accurate as well. Are you sure you had the most recent version of my revised database? |

Scott to make sure I redownloaded this file
http://www.tresclub.com/downloads/revdb45.zip and tried to import the 1994 season and a lot of the pitchers seem to get double stats. I'm useing 4.0c which Is the last release of OOTP 4. I also made sure It stated version 4.5 when Importing. And this download has the two readmes you mentioned. Is there any chance you sent him the wrong database files ziped with the readmes? |

Anyone else having problems with the statistics? What folder to you have the .csv files in? I'll try it again over the weekend (can't get to it tonight)... I have my database in C:\Stats for the folder and have no older versions of the database on my machine (that I know off)... if the pitchers are getting double stats it would be a sign that the TOT field was still in the file for that season, I don't see it (in fact TOT doesn't exist in the Pitching.csv file according to a quick search), but do the pitchers with the statistical problems have TOT listed as one of their teams? If they do then somehow you are reading a different version of the pitching.csv file to get the stats than came in the revised Database... the date on the file should be 4/29 about 11:55pm... What are the dates in the file that you have downloaded? Did you overwrite all the old files with the new stuff? |

Here's what I'd suggest:
using my computer or windows explorer, search for pitching.csv on all hard drives and delete all instances. Then re-extract from the zip file to the folder you want it in. Try again.

Basic:
Delete yuor c:\stats directory. Unzip the revised 4.5 into c:\stats. When asked if you want to create it, say yes. Now import a pitcher, specifying c:\stats as the directory. If THAT doesn't work, then you are cursed and there is no helping you.

I was able to recreate your problem by stating version 4.5 was 4.0 when it asked. Any pitcher I imported had his games show up as his wins. Double check to make sure that when the game asks what version you are using that you click the 4.5 tab.
Also on note of the revised database, not a big deal but, Johnny Vander Meer imports with a blank orgin he was born in Prospect Park, New Jersey I do believe. [ 05-10-2002, 04:49 AM: Message edited by: AngelinOF ] |

Ok this Is really strange I deleted my C:\stats folder and redownloaded the database and extracted It to that folder agian.
In the game when you create a new league the game automaticly sets It self for version 4.5 unless you change It......but to be safe I clicked through all the options till It stated 4.5 agian. And still the same thing.......Now I've done enough Software tech support to know its more than likely my fault.....but where???? I checked to make sure I have the right files.....right dir.....I make sure its set to the correct dir in the game, And that Its set to the right database version in the game. I'm not saying its OOTP or the databases fault as that seems imposible but what other user error could I have done. I'll try reinstalling OOTP4 maybe some how OOTP got corupt and even though I'm telling it version 4.5 it still thinks its version 4.0 |
