A good horse racing sim where you can breed horses and watch them develop from young colts into world class race horses. Sort of OOTP for horse racing with a career mode, if anyone knows of a game like this please let me know.

Easy. A superhero RPG/Strategy Game. I was a big comic book fan (Marvel) as a kid and now as an adult kid I'd love to see a company put out a superhero RPG. (And no those Capcom Superhero games don't count. ) I mean just think how fun it would be to create your own character.

A few cool looking games were going to be released. Champions (based on the old Champions RPG), Agents of Justice (X-Com meets Superheroes) but forwatever reasons they never saw the light of day.

Well hopefully one of these days a company will release a game like that for a comic-book geek like me.

Cool

SSG Troyer,
Thanks for the heads up !! Downloaded the game... too bad no one tried to update it, would make a decent game with today's technology

I'll run through a few though just for fun - ps: the first one I tried I attacked Cuba... not a good idea ;-)

Wow thanks a lot for Joe that link! I haven't been keeping up with many previews lately and I must have missed this.

The best news is, according to the front page, it's going to be released very shortly. Well then ignore my answer cause it appears, hopefully, that the game concept I want is coming out.

Anyway you're right, that did make my day. Great news!

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

A few ideas:

1. NASCAR manager game would be awesome. There was an old game called F1 manager, which was decent, but a NASCAR mangement game would be much better.

2. A career Football Sim with level of detail that Champ Man has.

3. OOTP 7, which I believe will have the level of detail that Champ Man has.

4. A sports role-playing game. A game where you either begin as a high-school coach and can grow till you become a Major league coach, or were you begin as a highschool player and can grow to the professional level.

I agree with the (american) football requests. I have Front Office Football (and The College Years), and, while I enjoy it: it doesn't have the depth of OOTP4.

Hell, until I played OOTP4, I didn't like baseball. Now, I can't wait for the season to start. Why? I love stats and OOTP4 is a stat lovers dream.

Football has a lot of potential, if done right. James Gindin (FOF) made the game he wanted to play. There are little, if any, tweakable settings in FOF and I would like to alter many of his settings. The ERA settings in OOTP4 allow me to play the season that I want to play.

(Not to bring up another BB sim here, but I like the xml file idea that PURESIM uses. It's a nice touch as it puts a lot of power into my hands.)

This may seem nit-picky, but I think any number-lover will agree that we play text-based sim games to see the results that we want to see (with variation, of course). If even ONE little number is way off or totally wrong, it makes us insane.

Sorry for the ramble.

My choice for Sim game: American Football done right.

matt

I think a game where you start as a coach at a small D1 school or like an assiastant coach at a decent D1 school and you try to get offers to head coach at schools, working your way to a national championship, sumthin like that. Or a game where you start as a freshman basketball star on varsity at your high school, play four years and u a bunch of D1 offers, then play college ball, you can pick to go pro if you want. Go threw a pro career, then when u retire u can decide if u want to coach as like a high school coach at your high school or a coach of some kind at the college or pro level working yourself towards the top. That would keep me interested for a while.

Best Concept Game That Never Has Been Made:

High Heat Baseball

One of these days they will make a version of HH without killer bugs...I just hope I'm not sixty by the time it comes out...

That game has always had the POTENTIAL to be awesome...unrealized potential. Instead it reminds me of Wehrner von Braun, who, they say, aimed for the stars and hit London instead.

Try Front Office Football: The College Years. I like it, it's pretty good.

The College Years -

Someone else mentioned this game to me today. I downloaded the demo and am going to give it a try. Thanks for the tip!

So I guess my idea was a concept that HAD been made.

Ahh...lets see:

An American Football game that would allow the user to play past season's in a career mode ala OOTP.

A comprehensive Political simulation (I'm dreaming big-time now)...where you start out as a grass-roots activist or what not and plot out your political career from there to state/federal government, make decisions, interact, and just 'play' politics. Sooo many variables, this would be a hell of an online game with lots of players to represent different countries of the world, interacting like a real geo-political simulation.

With the resurgence of Role Playing Games, a hard core Sci-Fi Role playing game. Something with the depth and story elements of Baldur's Gate. Not the quasi-fantasy sci fi scenarios we often see.

1. A comprehensive strategic level game during the Napoleonic Era...Matrix games has an intriguing one in the works....
2. A detailed turn based strategy game on the Lord of the Rings, sort of like the old SPI Middle Earth game, where you have to simultaneously reach Mount Doom with the Ringbearer and also manage the military front in Gondor, Rohan, and areas that were only briefly mentioned in the book...
3. An improved and expanded version of Avalon Hill's 3rd Reich...........

COLLEGE FOOTBALL !!!!

Trying to create a college league with FPS is a mother... you just cant get over 30 teams in 1 league. Bowl games, ect.

FOF is nice but it bored me too tears after 1 day of playing it...

We need a Carrer Football game like FSP with the GM aspects of FOF.OOTP added on top of it. and fully cousomizable so you can have college leagues.. canadian leagues.. arena leagues.

Different rule sets .. the one click web page making of OOTP ..

Football Fans Wet Dream !!!!
