Buffalo, Phoenix and Georgia (plus maybe the high-flying Mexico City) are still up for grabs in tMBU (forum).
These 3 teams are being managed by proxy at the moment so they don't fall apart but this is a temporary measure and they offer great opportunities for a permanent GM. Phoenix have some nice young pitching and a couple of good young hitters to build around, Georgia have a reigning Cy Young winner who is young plus more good hitting, and Buffalo have taken the lumps required to get back into decent financial shape and look ready for a proper full rebuild process, with some extra picks lined up for next season's draft and lots of scouting employed to help use them wisely. Whatever you like in a team, these 3 probably have some of it on offer. We've just added StatsLab following a change of website that allows that functionality, GM activity and writing is very good, the commish is as solid as they come and currently there's a healthy debate as to whether adding coaches/managers would be good for the league or not, so if you fancy adding a league then this is a good option (obviously I'm biased). Jump onto the forum, take a look around and if you're interested then register and let us know you're interested. |

I have taken Georgia.
It seems to be an excellent league. Come on in and join the party!

Phoenix and Mexico City are available at present - both in the same division (first and second actually, much to the chagrin of the other two GMs) so an immediate rivalry could commence.
Mexico City have one of the best SP in the league in Marasco, who is an absolute workhorse and still only 24, plus a pair of quality young hitters in Garcia and Hernandez, so are definitely on the up (2nd best record in the league despite being left to their own devices since early on in the season). Phoenix have a nice glut of young starting pitching, a slugging outfielder in Zambrano and two of the better relievers in the league. Both teams are financially sound and with good talent in the farm so well placed. In other words, if you fancy taking over a decent team in an active league then jump aboard. Just go to the forum, register up and let someone (probably Tom Hickman since he's commish and will have to give you the nod anyway) a shout re your interest. |

This is a fantastic league if you're into fictionals. All they've lacked is active GM's in the past at times.

Unfortunately we lost a long-term owner due to family commitments (Denver) plus a couple of new guys bailed on Phoenix (not sure why they're so unloved considering the young pitching they have) so we have 2 teams open as we head into the playoffs. This gives new GMs the chance to plan the offseason moves they want to make and prepare for the draft next June.
Denver have a hitters park (as you'd expect) and 2 of the best hitters in the league but need help on the pitching front. Phoenix have the basis of a good team, they just need direction. Both are financially sound. If you're interested in joining an active league which moves at a decent, but not frightening, pace then jump onto our forum and let us know you're up for the challenge. |
