Argentina - BW Division
Only 4 entrants in the Bantamweight division:
Ernesto Miranda vs Ruben Osvaldo Condori - Miranda had a solid lead when Condori landed well below the belt to end the fight with a DQ in the 14th. Heleno Ferreira vs Jose Smecca - A rather pedestrian effort to earn the 15 UD by Ferreira. FINALS: Ernesto Miranda vs Heleno Ferreira - Miranda had an easy time of it to earn the UD against Ferreira. |

Argentina - JBW Division
Another group of 4:
Gustavo Ballas vs Marcos Obregon - Ballas has little trouble in earning his 15 round decision over Obregon. Julio David Rogue Ler vs Sergio Carlos Santillan - Ler lands a devastating right hook to put Santillan to sleep in the 9th. Final: Gustavo Ballas vs Julio David Roque Ler - Ler walks into a wicked combo that ends his night in the 9th for the KO. Ballas is now assured a slot in the World Tourney. |

Argentina - FLY Division
We have 8 entrants in the Flyweight division including a 12 and 2 rated 10, so expect some fireworks!
ROUND 1: Pascual Perez vs Horacio Fabian Chicagual - Perez threw 6 punches, landed 6 punches with the final one knocking Chicagual out for the count! Horacio Accavallo vs Raul Eliseo Medina - Accavallo scores 4 knockdowns, the final one to put Medina away in the 12th. Santos Laciar vs Hugo Soto - Laciar was economical with his punches and amazing with his defense as he handles Soto without incident. Omar Narvaez vs Carlos Salazar - Both men went down in this close fight that went to the cards. The judges scored it a split decision for Narvaez. ROUND 2: Pascual Perez vs Omar Narvaez - Pascual Perez scored 2 knockdowns to earn a 9-6 (3) decision but the crowd gave both men a standing ovation as Narvaez showed incredible heart throughout! Horacio Accavallo vs Santos Laciar - Both men went down in this one and there were several close rounds so this one could have gone either way. The judges scored it 8-7 8-7 9-6 for Accavallo who moves into the finals. FINAL: Pascual Perez vs Horacio Accavallo - Accavallo had no answer for the speed and power of Perez in this one going down 5 times, including 3 in the 13th round. The final one was for a count of 10 as he was unable to arise. Perez moves forward to the Tourney! |

Argentina - JFLY Division
We have 25 entrants in the Jr Flyweight class. The top 7 seeds will recieve a bye for the first round.
Domingo Santos Aragon vs Oscar Chausqui - Aragon lands a devastating hook to put Chausqui down for the count in the 8th. Ramon Horacio Albers vs Fedrico Condori - Albers has little trouble with Condori in this 15 round snoozefest UD. Felix Colman vs Jose Luis Diaz - This was a close entertaining fight until Diaz bust open a cut over Colman's left eye to force the TKO in the 9th. Ignacio Lindor Gorriti vs Luis Edmundo Gomez - Gorriti was on cruise control throughout in this 15 round unanimous decision. Ramon Rodriguez vs Jose Ibiris - Rodriguez built up a dominating lead in this one then threw it all away with his 5th foul of the fight to hand Ibiris the gift victory in the 13th. Ramon Jose Cufre vs Juan Ivalo - excellent action bout that saw Cufre down twice and Ivalo down 3 times, the final one for the count! Score it a 11 KO for Cufre. Ruben Paniagua vs Roberto Ledesma - Paniagua dominated though the scoring showed it closer with one judge scoring it a draw. Paniagua is happy to move forward with his majority decision none the less. Jose Luis Lopez vs Reynaldo Romero - Romero scores a pair of knockdowns then holds on to win a split decision. Carlos Reyes Sosa vs Jose Zarate - Sosa wins on a TKO due to bad cuts over both of Zarate's eyes. ROUND 2: Jose Humberto Lagos vs Jose Luis Diaz - Lagos went down once, but answered with 4 knockdowns of his own to earn a 15 round unanimous decision. Adrian Daniel Roman vs Reynaldo Romero - Roman dominated throughout before the fight was stopped on cuts in the 11th round. Mario DeMarco vs Carlos Reyes Sosa - Sosa was cut due to an accidental butt that stopped the fight in the 5th. The fight went to the cards and was ruled a Technical Draw. Rematch to come. Luis Lazarte vs Jose Ibiris - Lazarte overcame a knockdown to earn a 12 round technical unanimous decision as Ibiris was cut badly from an accidental butt earlier in the fight that was reopened. Miguel Angel Lazarte vs Ramon Jose Cufre - Cufre was the busier fighter, but couldn't land against the slick Lazarte as Lazarte takes the 15 round decision. Rodolfo Rodriguez vs Ruben Paniagua - Paniagua was knocked out AFTER the bell rang stopping the fight for the DQ in the 11th round. Paniagua moves on. Jose Rafael Sosa vs Ramon Horacio Albers - Albers landed an impressive 56% of his punches compared to only 18.8% for Sosa. The problem is Albers lacked the work rate as Sosa threw more than 3 times as many punches to send this one to a draw. Rematch is coming up. Domingo Santos Aragon vs Ignacio Lindor Gorriti - Aragon overcame a knockdown to earn a 15 round Majority Decision. REMATCHES: Mario DeMarco vs Carlos Reyes Sosa - DeMarco had a solid lead when Sosa broke his left hand and had to quit to hand DeMarco an 11th round TKO on injury. Jose Rafael Sosa vs Ramon Horacio Albers - Sosa was building up a lead, but unfortunately he suffered a cut on his right eyelid that ended the fight in the 6th round. Albers continues on! ROUND 3: Jose Humberto Lagos vs Ruben Paniagua - Lagos dominates throughout scoring a KO in the 13th round. Adrian Daniel Roman vs Ramon Horacio Albers - Albers scored a knockdown, but couldn't overcome 3 by Roman, the final one for the 10 count in the 12th round. Mario DeMarco vs Domingo Santos Aragon - Aragon was frustrating DeMarco and it told in the 12th when DeMarco threw a punch so far south of the border that Aragon was unable to continue. Score it a DQ win for Aragon. Luis Lazarte vs Miguel Angel Lazarte - In a tough fight to score ( I had it for Luis Lazarte) Miguel Angel Lazarte wins a close 15 round UD. Round 4: Jose Humberto Lagos vs Domingo Santos Aragon - Lagos holds off a suprisingly game Aragon for a 15 round split decision. Adrian Daniel Roman vs Miguel Angel Lazarte - Lazarte pulls off the mild upset to take a 15 round unanimous decision over Roman. FINAL: Jose Humberto Lagos vs Miguel Angel Lazarte - Lagos took no chances in beating Lazarte to a pulp forcing the referee to stop the bout in the 5th round. Lagos will be the Jr Flyweight entrant for Argentina in the World Tourney. |

Argentina - SW Division
Only 2 fighters in the Strawweight division:
Hector Luis Patri vs Carlos Mario Eluaiza - Patri came in a 2-1 favorite and walked out on the losing end of a 15 round split decision that was marred by his inability to land punches with any sort of frequency. Eluaiza earns the spot in the world Tourney. |

Argentina - Recap
There were some disappointments in the world of Argentine boxing as Oscar Bonavena and Carlos Monzon, 2 of the sports icons were disqualified. This hurts their team's chance of making a mark in the world tourney!

Australia - HW Division
We have 49 entrants for the Austrailian spot into the tourney, including the great Peter Jackson. Round 1 will consist of 17 fights as the top 15 seeds will recieve a bye.
ROUND 1: Craig Petersen vs Reno Zurik - Petersen takes the unanimous decision in a snooze fest. James Ryan vs Colin Wilson - Nothing pretty about Ryan's style. He rushed Wilson throwing wild bombs from the start scoring 2 knockdowns, the final one for a 1st round KO. Jimmy Ryan vs Bill Turner - Jimmy Ryan punished Bill Turner for 11 rounds, scoring 3 knockdowns before the ref mercifully stopped the bout for the TKO. Jim Scanlon vs Mark Saris - Neither man threw a lot, though Saris did score a knockdown along the way. The fight was ended when Saris was bleeding so badly the doctor called it in the 10th. Mick Dooley vs Owen Sullivan - Sullivan dropped Dooley, but was dropped 3 times himself, the final one for 10 in the 7th. Justin Fortune vs Ned Ryan - Fortune had little trouble with Ryan, scoring a KO in the 3rd. Albert Lloyd vs George Ruenalf - Lloyd survived a late rally by Ruenalf to win a narrow majority decision. Black Paddy vs Australia Mandingo - Solid defense and just enough offense to take the day were Paddy's hallmark for this one. Call it a 15 UD as Paddy continues on. Lealofi Fasavalu Lobalala vs Pat Kennedy - Kennedy saw blood, (his own from an accidental butt) then went out and destroyed Lobalala for a TKO in the 2nd. Dan Keely vs Alf Idhe - Keely had a slight lead when he landed yet another low blow. That was enough for the ref as he called it a night and gave Idhe the win on DQ in the 11th. Rick Horsburgh vs James Grima - Grima scored a pair of knockdowns and didn't allow Horsburgh to do any damage in winning this 15 round UD. Peter Graham vs Pablo Frank - Frank was the better fighter in this one, scoring a knockdown and landing over half his punches. Unfortunately he cuts easily, and that was his downfall as the ref stopped it in the 11th for a TKO win for Graham. Jim Fogarty vs Marc Ecimovic - These 2 stood toe to toe letting it all hang out until Ecimovic landed a wicked hook that put Fogarty out for the count in the 5th! Rudy Darno vs Tony Coyne - Darno was the faster stronger fighter throughout, so it was a mercy when the ref stopped it in the 11th on cuts. TKO for Darno. Danny Buzza vs Billy Buck - A barnburner here as they both came to rumble. Buzza scored a knockdown early in the 5th and poured it on from there until the ref stepped in to rescue the now hapless Buck. Score it a 5 TKO for Buzza. Bill Blakeley vs Dick Atkinson - Hard fight to score as Atkinson was dropped 3 times to 1 time for Blakeley. With the rounds scoring however, the judges scored it a split decision for Atkinson. Ted Gray vs Joe Askew - Gray was too clever for Askew in this 15 round decision.

Australia - HW Division Round 2
ROUND 2:
Peter Jackson vs Dick Atkinson - Jackson makes short work of Atkinson with a KO in the 2nd. Kali Meehan vs Danny Buzza - Meehan scored a pair of knockdowns before the referee finally stopped the carnage in the 5th for the TKO. Bill Lang vs Rudy Darno - Lang batters Darno throughout, finally putting him away for the KO in the 4th. Bill Farnan vs Marc Ecimovic - Farnan gets up from 2 knockdowns to score one of his own along the way to a 9th round TKO. Joe Goddard vs James Grima - Goddard pummels Grima into submission as the referee stops the bout in the 3rd for the TKO. Steve O'Donnell vs Alf Idhe - O'Donnell boxes brilliantly throughout to earn the 15 UD. Colin Bell vs Pat Kennedy - Pat Kennedy was game, getting up from knockdown after knockdown, but in the 8th Bell finally put him down for 10. George Cook vs Black Paddy - Cook overcomes an early knockdown to take the unanimous decision. Frank Slavin vs Peter Graham - Slavin scored a pair of knockdowns while scoring an 8th round KO. Peter Felix vs Mick Dooley - These 2 went at it from the bell with Felix getting the better of it when Dooley unleashed a nasty uppercut that put Felix down for the count in the 1st. Solomon Haumono vs Justin Fortune - Fortune tried to handle Haumono, but was being battered until the ref stopped it in the 4th for the TKO. Tom Lees vs Albert Lloyd - Lees scored 3 knockdowns before the referee stopped the bout in the 6th for a TKO. Professor William Miller vs Ted Gray - Gray survived a pair of knockdowns and outboxed Miller for the rest of the fight to earn the unanimous decision. Billy Australian Smith vs Craig Petersen - This was a 15 round donnybrook with both men going down 3 times. In the end it was smith taking it as he did more work in more rounds. Bill Squires vs James Ryan - Ryan couldn't handle the power and speed of Squires. After a pair of knockdowns, Squires then opened a gash on the eyebrow of Ryan to end things in the 8th round. Jimmy Ryan vs Jim Scanlon - Scanlon tried to bang with Ryan...BIG mistake as he went down 2 times in the 4th, the final one for a 10 count.

Australia - HW Division Round 3
Here's the pairings and results from round 3:
Peter Jackson vs Mick Dooley - It took an effortless 4 rounds for Jackson to KO Dooley. Kali Meehan vs Ted Gray - Meehan scored 3 knockdowns in the 1st round and was simply rocking Gray with everything when the ref finally stopped the bout. Bill Lang vs Jimmy Ryan - Ryan scored a knockdown along the way and was in this one to the end against Lang. Unfortunately Lang opened a nasty gash on the forehead of Ryan that got so bad in the 9th that the fight was stopped for the TKO. Bill Farnan vs Solomon Haumono - Farnan was simply too strong for Haumono in this one, finally doing so much damage that the referee stopped the fight in the 7th. Joe Goddard vs Tom Lees - Lees simply swarmed over Goddard and scored the winning punch in the 2nd for the KO. Steve O'Donnell vs Billy Australian Smith - A cut in the 8th round ended this close fight handing Smith the TKO. Colin Bell vs Bill Squires - Another case of pure stupidity as Bell scores 2 knockdowns and builds up a huge lead only to throw it away with his 7th foul. Squires gets the win with a 13 DQ. George Cook vs Frank Slavin - Faster hands and better accuracy earns Slavin a 15th round UD.

Australia - HW Division Round 4, 5 & Final
ROUND 4:
Here are the round 4 results: Peter Jackson vs Tom Lees - Jackson dispatches Lees with a thunderous hook in the 4th. Kali Meehan vs Billy Australian Smith - This probably would have been close if it weren't for the 4 knockdowns Meehan scored. In the 8th he scored the final one for the 10 count. Bill Lang vs Bill Squires - These 2 were dead even with Lang scoring a knockdown early, but when Squires scored his knockdown in the 8th it was for the count! Bill Farnan vs Frank Slavin - Slavin got up from 4 knockdowns, but was unable to get up from the 5th in the 5th. ROUND 5: Peter Jackson vs Bill Squires - Jackson had no problems with Squires, scoring a pair of knockdowns in the 4th until the referee finally stopped the bout for a 4 TKO. Kali Meehan vs Bill Farnan - Meehan scored 5 knockdowns while swarming Farnan in this one. Finally Meehan was able to score the KO in the 14th. FINAL: Peter Jackson vs Kali Meehan - This was a flat out war of attrition. If you like slugging, this was poetry in motion as both men stood toe to toe throughout with Jackson's left eye nearly closed, Meehan's right eye nearly closed and swelling on the right. Also a reoccuring cut over the right eye. Jackson finally landed a knockdown punch in the 10th round followed by 3 more, the final one being a 10 count! Afterwards Jackson had nothing but praise for Meehan and his courage! Meehan said he'll be Jackson's biggest fan in the World Tourney and has offered to be his sparring partner throughout training.

![]() I tell ya, that Jackson/Meehan fight was fun to watch. Meehan showed no fear throughout against the vaunted Jackson and held his own in several rounds!

ROUND 1: Steve Aczel vs Les Crow - Aczel scores 4 knockdowns along the way to a 15 round unanimous decision. Daniel Ammann vs Costa Chondros - 4 knockdowns for Chondros 1 for Amman in an otherwise dull fight that Chondros takes with a 15th round UD. Jamie Withers vs Daniel Rowsell - Rowsell opens then reopens a nasty cut on the forehead of Withers to earn the TKO in the 5th. ROUND 2: Dave Russell vs Costa Chondros - Russell scored a knockdown in the 9th then poured in on against an over-matched Chondros before the referee stopped the bout for the TKO. Steve Aczel vs Daniel Rowsell - Rowsell survived 2 knockdowns to score one of his own and pull out the upset split decision to move forward. FINAL: Dave Russell vs Daniel Rowsell - Rowsell pulls out the upset against Russell dominating until a cut in the 8th put a stop to things. Score it a 8th round TKO.

Australia LHW Division
We have 20 fighters in the Light Heavyweight division. The 8 lowest seeds will have a fight-in to see who makes the field of 16.
FIGHT-IN: Glenn Kelly vs Anthony Courtney - Courtney survived a knockdown to win a TKO in the 8th on cuts. Paul Smallman vs Ben Dyer - Smallman did enough to win against the hapless Dyer. Score it a 15 UD. Zane Ali vs Luke Keegan - I had Keegan ahead by 2 rounds when the fight was stopped in the 14th due to bad cuts over both of Keegan's eyes. Ali moves on with the 14 TKO. Waqa Kolivuso vs Jack Malloy - Kolivuso's 2nd knockdown was for the 10 count as he wins by KO in the 11th in a close bout. ROUND 1: Jeff Harding vs Anthony Courtney - No knockdowns, but a dominating performance for Harding none the less as the referee stops the bout in the 8th round for the TKO. Danny Green vs Waqa Kolivuso - Green scores a knockdown and simply pummels Kolivuso until the referee stops the bout in the 3rd for the TKO. Jack A. Johnson vs Zane Ali - Ali surprises everyone in the 3rd round, knocking out the heavily favored Johnson. Ambrose Palmer vs Paul Smallman - Palmer dominates to earn a 15 UD. Paul Briggs vs Justin Clements - Briggs scores a knockdown along the way to a pedestrian decision. Dave Smith vs Greg McNamara - Smith dominates in all phases of the game before scoring the TKO on cuts in the 8th. Tim Bell vs Bob Dunlop - Bell went down early in the 3rd, got up then knocked Dunlop down in the same round, then piled on 45 unanswered punches before the referee stopped it for the TKO in the 3rd! Tony Mundine vs Paul Murdoch - Mundine scores 3 knockdowns, with the final one being a 10 count in the 8th round. ROUND 2: Jeff Harding vs Zane Ali - Ali kept it close, but couldn't handle the left hook that floored him for 10 in the 8th round. Danny Green vs Tim Bell - Green put on a lackluster performance before landing an uppercut to floor Bell in the 7th. Ambrose Palmer vs Tony Mundine - Palmer was content to dance the night away, making Mundine look foolish throughout his 15 round unanimous decision. Paul Briggs vs Dave Smith - Both men went down in a close fight, but it was on Smith's right eyebrow that ended it in the 11th for the TKO. ROUND 3: Jeff Harding vs Paul Briggs - Briggs pulls off the upset, landing a vicious hook early in the 8th round that had Harding sagging against the ropes. He then trapped his man and poured it on until the referee stepped in. Danny Green vs Ambrose Palmer - Green's 2nd knockdown was for the count of 10 in the 4th round. FINALS: Danny Green vs Paul Briggs - Green took landed all 14 of his punches, the final one a hook that put Briggs down for the count in the 1st round. Green will represent Australia in the World Tourney!

Australia SMW Division
We have 12 fighters in this one. The 4 top seeds recieve a bye.
ROUND 1: Rick Thornberry vs Benny Hora - Hora scores a knockdown but otherwise neither man was inspired in this 15 round majority draw. Marc Bargero vs Ron Jeffs - Bargero scored the only knockdown and did more to win in the eyes of everyone but the judges, who for some odd reason gave the decision to Jeffs. Heath Stenton vs Adam King - Stenton used every inch of the ring to keep King at bay, making him miss nearly 90% of his punches thrown in this 15 round UD for Stenton. Dale Westerman vs Chris Martin - Westerman won handlily..well, according to 2 judges..the 3rd must have been reading the comics as he gave the fight to Martin.... ![]() REMATCH: Rick Thornberry vs Benny Hora - Another snooze fest between these 2 gives us resolution at least as Thornberry gets the nod in a 15 round split decision. ROUND 2: Nader Hamdan vs Ron Jeffs - Hamdan works Jeffs over before finally scoring the KO in the 7th. Anthony Mundine vs Heath Stenton - Mundine scored 3 knockdowns while being dropped once while dominating most of the fight. Stenton was finally KO'd in the 11th on a beautiful cross. Daniel Lovett vs Dale Westerman - Lovett scores 2 knockdowns to 1 for Westerman but over all dominated to win a 15 round decision. Graham Murray vs Rick Thornberry - Murray litterally broke open this fight when he broke open a nasty cut above the right eye of Thornberry in the 7th for the TKO on cuts. ROUND 3: Nader Hamdan vs Graham Murray - As expected, Hamdan has little trouble with Murray in a 15 round decision. Anthony Mundine vs Daniel Lovett - Lovett comes in a 3-1 underdog and leaves the victor as Mundine was unable to get untracked. Score it a 15 round UD for Lovett! FINALS: Nader Hamdan vs Daniel Lovett - Lovett continues his improbable run with yet another upset unanimous decision in an overall dull fight. Lovett advances to the World Tournament! |

Australia MW Division - Round 1
We have 32 entrants in the Middleweight division, which makes life easy for me...lol We have 2 fighters in this division that have the potential to go far into the world tourney in Les Darcy and Dave Sands, provided one of them takes this tourney.
ROUND 1: Les Darcy vs Frank Brew - Darcy wastes no time, battering Brew until the referee says enough already in the 3rd. Dave Sands vs Dean Gayther - Sands uses his considerable speed advantage and excellent patience to put Gayther away with a KO in the 6th. Fred Henneberry vs Herb Goddard - Henneberry was having no problems at all, stopping Goddard on cuts in the 4th. Sam Soliman vs Flash Patsy - After a "getting to know you" round in the 1st, Soliman comes out and flattens Patsy with the first punch in the 2nd for 10. Daniel Geale vs Peter Petrou - Geale was content to use superior speed and ring generalship to earn a 15 round unanimous decision. Ron Richards vs Josh Clenshaw - All Richards all the time until the fight was stopped in the 8th due to cuts. Al Bourke vs Dan Hickey - A truely boring bout that finally ended on cuts in the 13th as Hickey was bleeding profusely. Bill Doherty vs Tim Draffin Murphy - Murphy hung tough, but a 2nd knockdown in the 8th was for the full count. Jim Hall vs Ron Toohey - Hall had the edge on knockdowns 3-1 and Toohey hung tough through the duration, but Hall got the nod with the UD. Peter Newton vs Australian Billy Edwards - Edwards was in this fight til the 8th when he was KO'd. Darren Obah vs Bill Jennings - It took 3 knockdowns before Jennings was out for the count in the 7th. Alfie Sands vs Billy McCarthy - McCarthy had the edge in knockdowns 2-1 but made Sands look bad for most of the fight to win the UD with ease. Frank Sturgeon vs Starlight Rollins - Sturgeon does enough to win a majority decision in this one. Tom Duggan vs George Seale - Duggan scores a knockdown in the 5th then pours it on until the ref puts a stop to the carnage. Jimmy Gillon vs Ted Nelson - Gillon broke his hand scoring a knockdown of Nelson who got up fast. Unfortunately Gillon was unable to continue so Nelson gets the TKO in the 5th. Ritchie Sands vs Ed Williams - Neither man was interested in trading and it showed as we have a majority draw. Rematch is next. REMATCH: Ritchie Sands vs Ed Williams - Sands had a 2-0 edge in knockdowns. That being said, Williams was more accurate throughout and should have won, but the judges gave Sands the majority decision. |
