Baseball (and football for that matter) are defined as outdoor sports by their historical settings. These are historically outdoor sports. The elements that playing outdoors creates is considered part of the game. Some people think that's for the worst. I think it's for the better. It adds variables that are harder to account for, and puts a new strain on the players playing in such situations. While these sports can be played indoors, it effects the game only by removing these variables, and making a constant field setting. Might as well let the opposing team veto your batting line up

That being said, I do agree rain delays suck.
