I agree, Halladay is fantastic, trust me, him and Lester are carrying my fantasy team the last few weeks

And I will admit I forgot to add him to the list.

Santana, on the other hand, for some reason I have never truly "enjoyed" watching him pitch. I honestly don't know what it is about him, but I have never seen a performance by him that truly gave me tinglies, even when he was lights out every time with the Twins. His stats every year are fantastic, and I agree that he is one of the best, but he just isn't "must see TV" for me.

SI had a great story about Greinke not long ago (begining of May I think). 2-3 page story about when he had to walk away from the game to get his head right. Turned out he has some kind of social anxiety disorder, which explained why he just never cared before. He pitches like he's posessed now.

I know what you mean and I think the extreme pronation (I think that's the word) makes him somewhat difficult to watch. It's almost like he's throwing a Screwball on every pitch. It does look awkward. I'll give you that.

Oh believe me, he cared. But his disorder made it look like he didn't care, made him unhappy, mopey and unsociable. You don't get to the level that he's reached without caring, dreaming, and busting your butt, but the brain is a very mysterious organ. Lots of things can go wrong and it has an incredible ability to heal itself and create new pathways to get around the dead ones. Maybe it, along with space, is the final frontier. I'm surprised there aren't more athletes with these issues. Maybe there are and they treat them with booze, or they're afraid to get help...I don't know. I do know that I'm really glad to see him back, doing well, and appearing to enjoy himself. This is good.

I won't pretend to know anything about the disorder or what Greinke himself was going through, but the premise of the story in SI was that he indeed didn't give a crap. It talked about how he never wanted to pitch to begin with but was basically forced to because he was simply too good not to. It gave examples of how his first home run was far more important than when he pitched good games and how he was throwing in the low 80's when he was capable of throwing in the high 90's. Why? Because that's what he wanted to do. His managers and coaches were quoted as saying it wasn't a matter of "getting it" at some point like most young pitchers. Greinke "got it" from the begining. He just didn't give a damn, which was due to the lack of medication according to the article.

There are PLENTY of examples of immensly talented players getting to the bigs/pros on talent alone. They typically don't stay for long, but they definately get there on nothing but talent.

All I'm saying is whatever was going on in his brain was making him not give a crap. He appeared to not give a crap and probably said many times that he didn't give a crap. I imagine he didn't look forward to interviews much and might have been a bit stand offish with the media, which would only worsen the public's perception of him. I am so glad he was able to get help because now we as baseball fans will be treated to the next 5, 10, 15 years of one of the most gifted, intelligent pitchers to ever pick up a baseball.

Try OOTP 10: New To The Game, which is located two below this one.

When you do, try to be a little more specific in what you want to know. The manual should tell you how to edit players, and the literal answer to the question you asked is: By editing an existing player, or by hitting the 'Create Fictional Player' button at the bottom of the Free Agents page, then editing the newly created player. I suspect that that answer will be no more satisfactory for you than my first was.
