ok

so essentially, we can download it twice, and install it on two computers because we have two licenses. i only ask because i have two computers i use equally, and it would be a drag to only install once.

I don't think you would have to download it twice, or at least I hope not. I imagine that you would just install the single download twice.

You can use one download as I have two computers that I license each year. I download it to my desktop, copy it to a flash and then install on my laptop.

Rut-roh. I just realized that in my haste to get to the office today I left my flash drive at home. Luckily, I'm only 5 minutes away and can go grab it at lunch time. No way I want to have to deal with Internet traffic and download it more than once.

Man, on days like this I really feel sorry for those whose employment has them under the watchful eyes of The Man.

The idea is that you use the flash drive to move your active league(s) between desktops that are licensed to run OOTP. Since you have two licenses, this is legal and easy.

This actually works, but I gave this approach up when I went 100% portable.

If you're playing pre-1947 American baseball, then the All-American Mod (a namefiles/ethnicites/nation/cities file pack) is for you.

Since I retired back at the beginning of Feb I really feel sorry for those who are employed on OOTP release day.

Ok. I installed X on one computer and created a new league. I copied the league folder to a flash drive as G:\OOTP\ABA.lg. I later installed on a second computer and told the installation program to use the folder G:\OOTP instead of the default. However, after starting the game I couldn't see my saved league. I used the Custom File Location option or whatever it's called and told it to use G:\OOTP. It told me to move files, whatever. I closed down and noticed that there was now a saved_games folder under G:\OOTP (G:\OOTP\saved_games). I moved my ABA.lg to this folder (G:\OOTP\saved_games\ABA.lg). I still cannot find the game to load it. What am I doing wrong?

Hey,

I think I can help here. I have OOPT X on 2 seperate computers and use a 500 GB portable hard drive to move my saved game back and fourth. What you have to do is go into the Game Preferences screen when OOTP first boots up and use the custom saved game location to find your portable drive. After that it will create a file called "saved_games" on your drive. What you need to do is move your league file into that drive and than restart OOTP and you should be good to go.

No problem. I fought with it for a good half hour or so myself!

Isn't retirement grand? You get up when you feel like it and you do what you want to do...and, of course, what your wife wants you to do.

That's the part we can never retire from.

Yes, but we get vacations now and then.
