I disagree. I think that Utah's AD personally called every single D1A school to see if they wanted to play.

Let's see, Utah beat Oregon State (2nd in the PAC-10), who beat USC. They also beat Alabama (2nd in the invincible SEC) a lot worse than Florida beat them. Oh, and they beat TCU, a team that gave Oklahoma lots of troubles and wound up a legit top 10 team. And nobody beat them. That sounds an awful lot like a national championship resume.

Utah beat Alabama when Alabama was without their best player. Florida beat Alabama when Alabama had thier best player and Florida was without their best player. Florida beating Alabama when both teams were playing for something and Alabama was full strength was a hell of lot more impressive than Utah beating Alabama in a game that meant zero to Alabama and everything to Utah when Alabama didn't have their best player.

Dola,

I am just saying the same things I already said though. So anyone have any thoughts on the game that is coming up. I think it is Oklahoma's game to win. Every time I watched them play this year, it looked like Oklahoma could score whenever they wanted to. I think Florida will have to play a hell of a game on defense to keep it close. Even then Tebow really hasn't shown much when the game is close (Alabama non-withstanding).

Alabama was ranked lower than Utah in computer polls before the games, while Florida and Oklahoma both ranked higher than Utah.

Wait, now a BCS Bowl means nothing to Alabama?

That's fantastic.

This gets annoying. Every one of these threads turns into a BCS thread.

As for the game itself I like Oklahoma before the bowls started but after watching the Big 12 play in these bowls I am now siding with Florida. I am thinking from what Ive seen from the Big 12 this postseason is that their defenses are worse than we think in turn making their offenses seem better than they really are.

I like Florida to put up 38 this game and Oklahoma to score 28-31. My pre-bowl prediction was Oklahoma 34-24.

I am just hoping its a good game. Too many times the biggest game of the year is over at halftime.

The only reason people have to keep bringing Utah into this is so they have something to complain about. Is it fair to Utah? No...Did Utah play a comparable schedule to Oklahoma or Florida...No....Would Utah stand a chance against Florida/Oklahoma...maybe 5%.... Will all the complaining make Utah's case better....NO so enjoy the nat'l championship like you would the Super Bowl if your favorite team lost the conference championship with a 15-1 record. The best team doesnt always win the Super Bowl, NBA Championship, World Series so why does the college system have to be perfect for people to enjoy it for what it is.

I think it was more of a letdown than meaning nothing. I am sure they wanted to win but probably had a hard time getting up for this game when all year they were focused on the national championship and we soooo close to getting their.

According to Jax, teams only try hard when they are playing for the National Championship. This is what he said last year after his Gators lost to Michigan.

Not every bowl game. Some teams come in with the mentality to win the bowl game. Some teams are just disappointed that they aren't playing for a National Championship. And some teams have extra motivation, such as it is the last game of their long time coach.

Yeah, I would say that the Big 12 has played terrible in bowl games, but Oklahoma is clearly the class of that league and 2 years ago the SEC played terrible in Bowl games and Florida looked like they didn't belong on the field with The Ohio State, and it turned out that we were all wrong. I just think Oklahoma is scary good on Offense. I am not sure Florida has the guns to stop them.

Oklahoma is having no trouble moving it. It should be 21-7 right now.

Florida just isn't interested in the game that much. They'll start trying hard in the 4th quarter [/jax]

These announcers sound like Madden on Farve.
Tebow this. Tebow that.
You would think it was Tebow vs Oklahoma.

Tim Tebow is good. It is obvious that Florida was the best team this year.

I think you may be taking Jax's statement on this out of context. I am sure he didnt mean they werent interested. Im thinking he meant it was a letdown to be in that game after coming so close to be in the Nat'l championship which I completely agree with. The same thing happened a couple years ago when Boise St beat Oklahoma.

You are new here aren't you. People are going to take what you say about one specific situation and use it to fit every situation. They have no clue that every situation is different. It is the same thing people do when they say one person is just like every other in his or her race. They have no way of looking at something and seeing it as a different situation or person.
