OK, It's been a week since my last post and the second week-end of 2009 is upon us and I still can't play this game I purchased as my personal Christmas gift to myself (I bought my wife a new wedding band as not to look selfish at this time of year :^). Any word on if anyone has had a chance to look at the file I attatched? I would love to be able top get into this game now. Thanks.

I would make sure that you have run Windows Update recently and that your graphics card driver is up to date.
You mention attempting to run this game on an "old" machine. Just how much RAM and available hard drive space do you have on the "old" one? If you haven't done so, you ought to try entirely uninstalling the game and installing fresh from a new download of the setup files. Occasionally they get corrupted during the file transfer. |

I'm running 512 MB of RAM and have turned off all unneccesary programs. I've actually got to the point that I can get to the main screen, but anyway I try to start a league it loads then crashes witth the MS message of doom.

Hrm. Have you run any anti-virus or anti-spyware programs lately?
How much free hard drive space do you have? |

I have 65GB free on my HD and the only virus protection on my PC is turned off when I try OOTP (it's Avast BTW, as I read on some other threads that that was safe to use in conjunction with the game).

Hrm. Could you try deleting the default.lg folder in your saved_games folder to see if that helps anything?

I'm having a very similar problem. When I downloaded the latest patch, the game will not start. I can't even get to the startup screen. I have even tried it on a machine that has had all traces of the game removed (a fresh install). It still won't work. This is on machines that have run the game successfully before. What happened? And can I get older version before the latest patches?

OK, so I got my new PC. I still have to disable facegen to play the game but it does work. Question is, what am I losing by disabling facegen and is there some type of settings I have to change in my video card pref to allow facegen to work?

FaceGen generates pictures for your fictional players. That's it.
Have you tried running in either of the FaceGen troubleshooting modes? I don't know of any preferences that you might need, but have you fully updated your graphics card driver? |

As there hasn't been an update from the OP for a couple of weeks, this thread will be closed for housekeeping purposes. If this is still a problem, let us know and we'll reopen it.
