Since you are rooting for the Rockies, you might want the Phillies to win tomorrow or you might start having A's 2 up in a series flashback.

The Phillies have the Rockies right where they want them.

There is a tragedy in either of these teams being knocked out in the first round. Both of them had great late season runs to overcome incredible odds and make it into the playoffs.

Why don't we just call this the NLCS and forget about those other two squads? Who's with me?

Nah, I wouldn't mind seeing the Cubs in the World Series at all. But I'm not big on the Diamondbacks getting there. The Phillies-Rockies series is the only one where I don't have a clear preference for a winner.

Have any teams won a world series with a negative run differential? I'm guessing it had to have happened at least once, in the pre-division era, but I can't think of an example offhand.

I'm assuming you mean a negative one for the season and not for the series, since the latter has probably happened plenty of times. It's an interesting question. Certainly there have been a few teams in the World Series that have barely been above .500, so maybe looking at them might be a start.

2-2? 3-2? Plus an adjustment for defense.
