What do I think is most likely to happen? Yankees-Rockies with the Rockies taking it. I always say go with the streaking team. What do I hope will happen? Indians-Phillies with the Phillies taking it. I don't know why, but I've got mucho love for these Phillies and I've always liked the Indians.

Bit of a fault in this poll in that if you root for any of these teams, how can you vote against them?
Especially if one can click to see who voted for the Cubs and see that [hypothetically speaking, of course] 1998 Yankees voted for them! Ha, ha, ha. 2007 Yankees all the way, says 1998 Yankees.

Anyway, I'm rooting for the Indians, but as long as either of those AL East teams don't win, i'm happy. That's my usual position year after year. |

The Red Sox took over the number one position in my most hated teams list this year.

Hmmm. Come think of it, if the Yankees do not win the World Series, then I hope the Cubs win so that we can stop talking about curses and stuff. What's theirs about, a billy goat or something? The biggest goat that I recall from their history is named Steve, not Billy.

I went with the Yankees. Just a gut feeling for me.

The Red Sox historically under Frazee, Yawkey and now Henry have almost always spent more money on players than the Yankees. The Yanks didn't start doing that en masse until Steinbrenner came along. I admire and like an organization that commits to winning year after year. The Yanks are that organization. That's who I hope wins. After studying the history of MLB, and the mindsets of the different teams, I can't see how one could not like and admire the Yankees. They are one of the few teams committed to giving the fans a winning team year after year. So many other teams (the Cubs come to mind), actually bank on their "lovable image" and don't make serious efforts to win. The Cubs have only in recent years begun to make that effort. The Cardinals usually try to make the effort, and I like and respect them also. I honestly can't see why fans who are not living in specific city decide to follow teams who do not commit to winning every year. Then again, that's what makes us different. I think the Phillies have the NL momentum. Last edited by Dean Mattingly; 10-02-2007 at 11:08 PM. |

I don't think the networks want the Indians in the World Series...

I want the Yankees to win but since I want to be unbiased in a voting like this I'm going with the Indians.
I think they can overcome whatever offensive deficiencies they have to ride their good pitching and strong bullpen. |

Red Sox should be my number one pick, but as a baseball fan, I kind of hope that either the Rockies or the Cubs will do well.

I voted on accident for the Red Sox, but I'm rooting for the Indians. One of my reasons being that my step father lives in Cleveland and gets me some sweet Cleveland sports swag all the time (he works at a sports shop).

It can not be all that logial all the time, when it comes to the love for the sport teams. After all, watching sports is not our job, and it is not like how we raise kids. I think everybody has a right to root for whatever team he/she likes, and it does not matter where you live. Hell, I live in Tokyo but root for the Red Sox, with or without Matsuzaka/Okajima, and will root for them as long as I want. I loved the Red Sox even when I was in Boston in the early 90's, when all we had was Mo Vaughn and Phil Plantier. Don't ask me why I like the Red Sox, though...
