Of the three, I would vote for the Hall of Fame. Mob rules don't appeal much to me.

Send it to a movie-like museum and get it done up like the guy from Hellraiser. 756 syringes should do the job

LOL! I'm sorry, but lol (toning it down a bit). You wouldn't compare the two, but it did come to mind, didn't it? Ha, Ha!

lol. yeah it did come o mind, and I couldn't think of a different controversial piece of history that's still around today quite like that. So I had to do it to make my point, sadly. But it was still fun.

Thanks for taking it the right way. It just struck me as hilarious when I read it the second time (not knowing if I read it correctly the first). No doubt it would be the outer space option for that other "round object," eh?

Yeah, it would be if we sent every much maligned historic artifact into space but we don't. So, thus, even if that skull isn't Hitler's, it's being kept around because it might be. Bonds' 756n ball is around, and should stay around. In Cooperstown, with or without the asterisk.

EDIT: No problem yankees. I try not to take myself too serious

I noted my preference earlier in this thread, so I will just add my agreement to your thinking; the ball, with or without * should be kept as a reminder.

This is stupid. However, I did vote and saw the count is 9,895,623. Ecko did a nice bit of marketing with this one I guess. And, as someone else pointed out, the "anti-Bonds" votes are split on B and C. So, A is very likely going to win.

I voted A.

So much for that line of thinking.

If the Patriots go undefeated, should they have an * by their record since they cheated the first game? I mean, shouldn't they be 3*-0 now?

I wonder if the HoF would accept Babe Ruth bats with the word "CORKED" stamped on them just below the plug.

Actually, it is fitting that the HoF accept the ball marked in that manner. Part of their mission is the preservation of baseball history, and no matter what you think of this controversy, it will go down in history. I can see the HoF eagerly taking this artifact for its collection, asterisk and all, story and all. Pretty shrewd on Ecko's part, I would say, because now he is going to become part of that history.

Well put. I voted for the space shot, but I think this turned out okay. Actually it's pretty nice that before the "record breaking" season is even over, Bonds has received both this rebuke from the fans, and the news that the Jints don't want him any more.

I think putting an asterisk on that ball's pretty petty and childish.

But then again, so would blasting it into space. Although it'd be funnier.

Some would say that keeping track of how many times different people have swatted little balls over the fences of certain lawns under certain circumstances, and then reporting it as news when one man exceeds the total of another in accomplishing this, is itself colossally childish.

However, if we accept the premise that major-league home-run records (and the rest of the sports entertainment package) are worth caring about at all, then I don't see why it's petty for someone to use a ball in a statement about that feeling.

Well, I suppose we disagree, then .
