Ouch!

This is painful. Pags, sweetheart -- have you ever read...anything? If you haven't, you should. If will help you communicate better with your audience. This sentence appears to have been first "written" in sign language by a Russian chimp, and then translated into English by a Chinese businessman who learned English from old soap operas.

By allowing Steve Erkel of the television show to evaluate his players, Beane has set his team back into the days of black-and-white television and we're not talking about Kirk and Ohura, boys and women. Jay P. Richardsi won't be sending any bale money for Beane this time around and much like Judas sold out Jesus, Beane is going to be crucified.

But he never walked on water to begin with, despite trying to sell the Major League industry a dry bill of goods built on faulty, un-traditional, analyses.
WHAT!~ Well done.

"A Thousand Flowers Broom" is my favorite record ever.

Huh? I wasn't. I assumed that Pags was doing something like that, contrasting his suckitude with what he thought was the Moneyball philosophy. He might think - I had a low OBP, I won a title; Moneyball is all about OBP, it hasn't won the A's a title; therefore, Moneyball is wrong about OBP being king. Of course, he doesn't know what he's talking about no matter what he's saying.

Moneyball is about exploiting inefficiencies. OBP was undervalued so the A's of that time took advantage of that. Now they've turned their attention to defense for the same reason.

I think doubles is the most undervalued statistic.

Could be true. I read somewhere that historically doubles correlates better with run scoring than home runs.

I was guessing at what Pags might have thought when he wrote his piece, not what I was thinking. I should have used quotation marks.

Ehh, blame my sleep deprived brain. It's pretty obvious now that I've reread the quote.

I guess Moneyball caused 'rampant' steroid use as well.

Maybe my favorite part of the whole piece - and there are so many good parts to choose from.

No harm done, darkhorse. It happens to all of us.
