Suggestion
Have team awards (Hitter, Pitcher, Rookie, Minor Leaguer) announced at the end of the season along with all the league awards. Reason More immersion in the game, more reward at the end of each season... I think it would be great to see that, while he may not have been the best player in the league, that kid you drafted in the 23rd round of your first draft turned into a great player for your own team. Allow computer managers to "vote" on league awards instead of the manual award option. Reason One of my favorite parts of the game is awaiting the annual awards to come out. I don't like doing the manual picking because I lose some of the appeal and the build up towards the MVP... when the Gold Glove Awards come out, I know the "big time" awards are coming out over the next couple days, and it really is cool. But sometimes I really don't agree with who wins the award... but I am still only one manager out of however many are in the league I am playing. And even though I play in commissioner mode (just so I won't get fired, basically), I don't think I should be the one and only person to have a say in who wins the awards. Priority High, for me anyway |

Allow fully customizable awards.. i.e. Set certain points to be awarded for different stats for MVP, POY, and more specifically for the "custom award". Reason As I said above I don't like the manual voting purely because I lose a lot of the immersion I get from the awards at the end of the season. Currently with the custom award I am forced to do a manual selection for all the awards so I do not use it. I would love to be able to make a custom "Speed Demon" award that takes into account Steals, SB%... or a reliever award that takes into account Holds, Saves, IP, K, K/9, etc... and allow the computer to generate the award winners like the other major awards. I just wanted to say: if you do add a bunch of extra awards (Comeback, Silver Slugger, Executive, an MVP which pitchers could win) and team-by-team awards ... could you please make them optional? More power to those who want them, but I don't. Reason No big deal, it would just be annoying, unwanted clutter in all the Player Histories. As for the MVP, I know I'm not the only person who thinks pitchers shouldn't be allowed to win it. Priority Low. |

Allow the Customizable Award to be awarded to multiple players: one or two at each position, say, or one that five pitchers in a league can win. The player could decide. Reason The people who want Silver Sluggers can have their Silver Sluggers, and me, I award a year-end All-Star team (which includes starting and relief pitchers). As is, I add my selections to each player's History by hand, and honestly, I don't mind the small amount of effort involved. But it does mean the game doesn't tally those awards. Priority Low. |

Create spring training stadiums where teams would play in better weather Reason This is more realistic and I believe the colder weather of home stadiums affects the players differently. Priority Medium |

I just wanted to latch onto this guys original post, as this is a very high priority item for myself being a mostly online league player.
Suggestion Eliminate the 25 man Active Roster during the Offseason. From Sept 1st through opening day of the following season, the active player roster should be 40. The 25 man roster does not exist during this time period. The 25 man active roster comes back into effect opening day of the following season. So during Spring Training, as teams trim their roster down to get to the 25 man roster, any player on the 40 man roster that fails to make the big league 25 man roster, is optioned to the minor leagues. If a team attempts to send a player to the minor leagues that is out of options, that player has to clear irrevocable waivers before the team can assign him to the minors. Reason Currently teams can hide players in the minor leagues indefinitely by adding them to the 40 man roster and never promoting them to the active roster. This has always been a problem in OOTP and needs to be fixed. There might be better ways to accomplish this, but the general issue needs to be remedied. Priority Extremely high(has been a loophole in the game for years) Last edited by JTSMOOTH; 09-28-2007 at 04:02 PM. |

Suggestion: New standard awards:
1. Top Fireman (reliever) for both leagues. Use the new Rolaids Reliever formula to calculate who wins, or create a different formula. 2. Comeback Player Of The Year Award! Reasons: 1. It would make the game more fun for the user. 2. Same as above answer, but all in CAPS! Priority: High. |

Suggestion: Spring Training - Add some game logic depth to the "Spring Training" game feature.
Reasons: Based on tests I have run, I'm skeptical that Spring Training currently serves any purpose. It does not appear that players increase chances of learning a defensive position, and players with no Spring Training playing time do not appear to have any rust when starting the season (not that I'm in love with the whole 'rust' concept either:-/). I'm also not seeing noticeable additional player dev changes, something which is much easier to track these days with OOTP add on applications. Priority: Medium. If it's in the game I want to have a reason to use it. As it is now I'd prefer to just skip ST. |

Allow teams from the parent league(ala MLB), to assign players to Winter League teams during the offseason...For example, the Arizona Fall League where each MLB team assigns 6 or 7 prospects to the winter league to get more experience/development. Reason Currently there does not seem to be a whole lot of value in the way the Winter Leagues are currently constructed in OOTP. Would be fun and add a little more realism to the game if we as GM's/Owners could assign some prospects or guys who are fringe players to Winter leagues and see how they fare against other top prospects or other fringe guys who are trying to prove themselves worthy of getting a shot at the big leagues. The ability to set playoff rosters between each round, and have a reserve roster for players that are not going to be on the playoff roster so you don't have to waive them or demote them durring that round Reason More like the real thing, adds more thought to setting playoff roster and more of a challenge Priority Medium-high |
