Anyway, I hope your problem gets worked out. I just think you could do more to help OOTPD diagnose your problem.

Hi Jonah (or LloydLungs),

Can you give me some background on how you created this game? You said it's a "regular fictional MLB league". Does that mean you created it using the Standard league creation wizard? Or perhaps based on a quick-start?

What settings did you use when you created the league?

Do you recall what the game date was when the game crashed on you?

In THIS case, Steve, just a regular ole "create fictional league", then selected the MLB template.

Mine is regular fictional MLB as well -- I am using the Icy MLB template. I don't think that's the issue, though. Lots of people seem to be using Icy without problems.

As for settings, I'm not sure exactly how to answer, but I changed very little from Icy (only things like eliminating scouts and limiting e-mails).

I've tried to sim ahead for history three times. Game date for one of the crashes was the year-end autosave, 12/31/2009 (simming ahead from 2007). The crash before that was sometime in August/September 2008. Not sure when the first one happened since I left it overnight. All have the same result as described. When you go back to load the game, it sticks at 93% and hangs.

Same here - at 93% as well. I uploaded the files to you in the Jonah Falcon folder at the FTP site -- the one named fictional is the one dealing with this one.

We know your issue is a frustrating one, but respect has to be two ways.

Resorting to arguing or putting down others moving off topic to the main thread title is not going to help. You could concentrate on the situation at hand, and not fall into the disrespect area of those that are trying to help you.

If you can allow us (staff, Markus, Andreas, and posters) to help you without the baggage of all this unprofessionalism, we will get it narrowed down. But, we can only help you as much as you allow us.

Being spiteful and disrespectful isn't going to be acceptable behavior. This is a public pre-warning to rein in the disrespect and understand we are trying to help, and you have to be willing to accept help and do so in a professional way.

If the unprofessional behavior continues, there will be repercussions.

Please allow us the chance to get and assimilate the info when asked for and give as much detail as you can, even to the point of overload.

You never know what will be the factor that gets the fix for you. It might even be a fan that finds the answer first! You never know!

This identical thing happened to me with a league I was playing. It crashed during an autosave at the end of December. Whenever I tried to reload it, it hung at 93%. You aren't making this one up. I have seen it too.

Give it some time to load... it reorganizes the league news files after a crash, that can take quite a while.

Markus, I let it be for 2 hours - it never moved from 93%.

I'd hate to turn off the league news html reports...

Markus gave me the correct way to "fix" this - he suggested I delete the faces.dat file, and it worked. So my league is still alive.
