Wow, I just ran an 80 year sim on a 18 team league and your settings are dead on, as usual. Great, Great work!

Skydog, I'm curious why you didn't set the "Import Settings" under "Strategy and Equivalencies". I assume you tried several of those from the relevant era first.

For those who aren't familiar with it, it's a new feature whereby you can have the game import a set of strategies, equivalencies, financials, etc. once at league creation (even for fictionals) and it will use those as the default baseline for your league (as opposed to out of the box, which as Skydog mentioned, creates 2006-based stats.)

I'm not sure there IS a relevant era to what he wanted (at least I don't see one). So he made his own through some testing.

I looked at the stats for a bunch of seasons during the 80s, and none gave me what I wanted.

Are the logos supposed to transport with the template? Some of my teams don't have logos. Mainly the ones where there are teams in both leagues, or where they are named weird.

I think the problem is that the logos that I have downloaded have things such as Chicago_A_White_Sox.png as their name instead of Chicago_White_Sox.png. Is there an easy fix to this besides renaming all the logos? Any recommended logo files?

I don't know. I don't remember what logos I downloaded. I just got some and hand-attached them. It doesn't take long. This group of settings was not intended to have anything to do with logos. I just happened to have them in there.

Hey that's cool. I am thinking about using Icy's starting file with your settings and creating a template from that. That way all the fictional players have pregenerated faces and the jersey's logos should come with the template.

The ultimate starter file

Of course I won't post it unless you want me to.

Also, is there a reason you decided to leave some teams out?

actually, I just found out how easy it is to import the logos/jerseys for the missing teams. That might work pretty well.

Though, I think I'll still make a template for all the teams included.

*edit*

I found the easiest way to fix the template so that the teams logos/jerseys import correctly. You just need to rename New York to New York (A) and New York (N) and do the same for Chicago. For some reason Boston has a space after it so it doesn't import correctly. Also, change A's to Athletics and rename the Angeles to Los Angeles (A) Angels of Anaheim. After you make those changes you need to regenerate the logos/jerseys etc... league setup.

skydog, do you start in 2001 like the template says, or do you start in 1901?

I can clearly endorse what Skydog has devised: thus far the results from his suggested settings have given me a truly believable universe at long last. Thanks for your work Mr. S!

I'm getting a few too many strikeouts for my tastes. My career pitching leader had 6200 or so, and my single season record was 208, so I'm tweaking those numbers a bit.

But all in all, this is an excellent tool to use as a starting point for (re)building my fictional dynasty.

Thanks again, SkyDog.

I like starting in 2001. It just gives me that "by-the-decade" feel.

FYI, if you put 16,000 in for AB instead of 160,000, it kind of changes the numbers a little...

Holy ****! This is exactly the type of info our online league (MBBA) has been looking for. As the league Commissioner (along w/ my VC) we have been digging through settings trying to figure out why our 2006 converted league has been so off the wall the past season.

I think you have just given us something akin to the Holy Grail, at least as far as I'm concerned. I'll be importing our current league to 2007 tomorrow and trying out these settings, that I can guarantee.
