Team: Dagrimia Clowns

The Dagrimia Comedy Club has been the birthplace of many of the island's top comedians and entertainers. Despite being known as a great place to have a laugh and a good time, Dagrimia has a serious side in that it conducts its business very well. Thanks to astute accontants, the city has never had a budget shortfall.

Team: Driveight Rockers

Driveight is the place where rock music lives on the island. The city seems to produce a steady stream of high level talent that makes it the destination of all aspiring rock stars. Unfortunately, it is also sometimes a lawless place and has had periods of time when it has been cut off by the government.

Team: Creedbrook Techs

The city's name has had many spellings, historically spelling, from Credebroke to Crebrook, and the many spellings are reflected in the fact that every shop in town seems to spell the city's name differently.

Even the team name has been a source of some dispute, with some calling it the Teks or the Techies.

Team: Concris Fighters

One would expect a city of rabid boxing fans - the place on the island where the sport is centered - to be a dangerous place. It is not, however. In fact, it is a pleasant town of educated and well-spoken people who have a great deal of knowledge about their favorite sport and much more. Baseball takes a back seat to boxing, but it is still well-followed in Concris.

City: Rizonia
Team: Rizonia Beavers

Rizonia has a somewhat unfair (but not particularly unwarranted) repuatation as the smut capital of the island. It is home to quite an array of porn shops and topless bars. Indeed, there is even a law requiring women under 40 to wear thongs during the summer. However, it does have other merits. Or so its residents say.

Team: Theprof Historians

Theprof University is the place to go to study history on the island. They have renowned programs in world history, European history, and American history, among others.

Team: Pottersdale Explorers

To most people, Pottersdale is thought of as the place where marijuana is legal (although it is not alone in this distinction). The city has seen a renaissance of urban pride lately, especially since the publication of Inside Pottersdale, a bestselling picture book featuring the interiors of many of the city's most famous old buildings. Pottersdale is also known for the uniformly red color of most of its buildings' roofs.

Team: Aitonia Pipers

Aitonia was originally a Scottish settlement, the only real foothold Scotland has had on the island. It still retains a good amount of its Scottish pride, and bagpipes can often be heard playing in the wind.

Team: Dragon Swamp Dragonflies

Located in the swampy lowlands, Dragon Swamp is known for its hot, humid summers. It is also home to a very pleasant population of hard working do-it-yourselfers who aren't afraid to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and go.

Team: Eckford Eagles

Originally known as the Legal Eagles, the name was considered cheesy and shortened to the Eagles. Eckford is home to Edward Lawrence James School of Law, commonly referred to as ELJ. Like Joshotu, it is really a city of lawyers. Eckford residents fill their time sitting at desks and billing people for things.

Team: Gefors Mad Dogs

The old axiom is that you shouldn't get into an argument with anyone from Gefors, because they'll chew you up like a mad dog (hence the name). In reality, the city does feature some amazingly mad sports fans along with some very good sportswriters whose wrong side athletes most certainly do not want to be on.

Team: Grengold Gold Sox

On an island where males outnumber females by an astounding amount, Grengold is the only large city on the island that has a higher female than male population. Its all-girl baseball league is a huge hit across the island. It is said that if a woman ever makes the big leagues, she'll be from Grengold.

Team: Andreasia Dictators

Andreasia is perhaps second only to Heinsohn when one thinks of government centers on the island. It is a place where rules are set and laws are passed. Given the overwhelmingly German descent of the population, many are uncomfortable with the team nickname.

Bevaquada is home to the largest permanent military station on the island, a large naval base that takes up a good chunk of its coastline. There are many competing political views in Bevaquada, all argued passionately by their holders.

Cetorg has always been a place that seems like it should be better than it is. It's a place with a lot of potential, but it doesn't seem to know what direction to take. Consequently, in its architecture, its business, and many other areas, it is filled with half-finished good ideas.

Why didn't they call the team the Bulldogs? After all, the bulldog is the official canine of Desiato and appears on its city flag. Why not the Bulldogs? Well, it was decided that the name just wasn't gay enough. In a city where there are as many gay people as straight people, it was felt that the team name should reflect that.
