I think the fact people care so much more about MLB is because, aside from the numbers, deep down baseball is still the #1 sport in this country. Football might get better ratings, but people still cling to the ideals of baseball. It just so happens that those ideals are all poppycock anyway.
That makes no sense. Football gets better ratings so obviously baseball is America's #1 sport? Ten years ago, baseball was America's favorite sport. Now the ratings and the interest level say that football is the favorite sport.

The Tigers/Cardinals WS Game 1 had an all-time low rating for World Series game.

There's a reason why baseball has had a tremendously shady image lately, while the NFL is soaring (thanks Pion ) to new heights.

I don't think you meant to say souring, but it's very funny as it fits the situation. I'd say "souring to new lows"

I am not sure what are the parts that doesn't reflect reality. MLB players that are more alert and aggressive on the field could be linked to greenies(meth). Alcohol use has several different stages, and at the early stage, it works as an agent for nervous players to relax. It's after serious abuse would they become aggressive. For steroids users, the easiest hint to pick up is "works harder than everyone else". The main benefit of using steroids is to work out longer.

The main benefit to steroids is the help it gives your muscles during the rebuilding phase. This is why they are used to treat injuries.

Football doesnt have as rich of a history, and no records constantly being pursued. Baseball does. Baseball was the game this country came up on, and to be honest, its the fact that football and basketball players talk so much sh.it and are so involved with the media that it seems to make the game more childish next to baseball. Football is more exciting, but has nowhere near the history. Ratings arent everything, the game goes in swings.
