A computer programmer not only with a girlfriend, but taking a vacation too...dang...!
Great to have the best back in the saddle Markus! The aging curve still seems a little funky in historical sims. I haven't done any fictional to say if it is consistent there as well, but players seem to flame out much earlier in their careers than in past versions of the game. When it's turned down to .5 or lower, it seems better, but a lot of players are washed up at 28 quite a bit in most of my historical sims with the setting set to 1. It would be great down the road to be able to create your own free agents as in past versions, but if that's on the to do list for the future, that would be great too. I'd still like to continue our discussion on the project I mentioned to you a while back, but I know how you're schedule has been. Keep me in mind for down the road and when you have time.

Please, Please...Historical Leagues that do not have all the minors filled with fictional players, Back to the ghost players of 6.5. I hate having to use the reserve roster. I want the choice to fill the minors with fictional players. I used to like that some of the real players would be in the lower minors and then they would work their way up through the minor leagues

Markus-
1. For RPs -the tracking of IR and %IRS in box score and player card and stats. 2. AI logic-with a runner on 2B, and a ground ball hit to either the SS or 3B, the runner on second "always" takes third base on the play. What happened to the PBP where the SS/3B looks the runner back and then throws to first? |

I'd like to suggest the same three things I've been pushing for a while.
1. Make the team logos in the broadcast and a few other screens fit instead of being cut off. 2. Make a way to eliminate those little circle pictures on the playing field of the broadcast screen but still have pictures elsewhere. 3. Make an allstar league possible, historical teams from different years. This could possibly be accomplished by allowing access to the database from a fictional league. |

Remove the Pinch Hitter that will not go away..... Always hate seeing a new fielder in the field, but the pinch hitter is still hitting for him.

One thing I really miss from 6.5 was the SHOP AROUND button. Also the trading block.

Would like to see 7 day Lineups inserted or is that a 2007 thing.
Would like the stats view to default to pitching or batting when you select to see pitching or batting stats. Like in the transaction screen if you select another view say A ball and put a player there. Once done it will default back to the original view instead of keeping that view. Happens in the FA screen if you change to sort for a different stat it changes your Alphabetical listing in which it should keep it. In general that last two a lot of plays it goes back to the default view rather than keepint the choice you picked. |

My suggestion would be to have maybe a 2 part release for 1.03. This could be done similarly to what was done with 1.02. IMO, this is a great way to get changes out there and tested so that smaller fixes can be made in the final version of the patch.

In fictionally created universes, stop having high level talented players sign minor league contracts with international leagues that have the financials turned off. (standard MLB universe beagn w/ year 1998)
i.e. a 74 rated SS signed a minor league deal with the Venezuelan Pro league Lara Cardenales. (oh the agony when that happened. also like to see more coaches and doctors type personel created and the ability to assign your coaches both up and down throughout your organization rather than just demote them to the minor league levels. |

Markus, thanks for making the commitment to a final patch.
Two things that I think are feasible with the limited time you have available: 1. An option to block all fictional players from ever being in the major leagues or being involved in any transactions involving major league clubs. This would be the quickest solution for historical gamers that want the full minor leagues and the ability to send down their historical players, without ever having fictional players in the major leagues. I think this could be achieved by simply adding a special tag for fictional players in the players.dat file or something similar, with the game then treating any player with the tag as off limits for ever going into the majors or being involved in a major league transaction. 2. Fix the problems with aging and development in the game. The modifiers have no affect on player retirements, which happen too early and too aften, usually at age 35 or 36, with very few ever making it beyond that point. Pitchers also decline far too quickly at the ages of 28 to 30, and younger players can sometimes develop far too soon. The default modifiers of 1.000 should ideally generate realistic curves based on current tendencies in baseball. See the thread at http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=128090 for more details, along with my study at http://www-personal.umich.edu/~gandrade/ootp/aging/ 3. Allow the 40-man rosters, rule 5 drafts, and the full waiver system to be used when the minor leagues are turned off. Teams should have a 40-man roster AND a reserve roster which serves in place of the minor leagues. Players should still be subject to the waiver and rule 5 draft rules when they are sent from the 25-man or 40-man roster to the reserve roster. Last edited by Charlie Hough; 08-14-2006 at 02:32 PM. |

How about an organization report for your team, similar to this in previous versions:
http://www.jobl.net/FTP/team16rr.html As of right now, this report is broken down by team in your organization (so each team - A, AA, AAA, etc -- has their own report(s)) and split out into two reports: Ratings and Potential Ratings It was nice to see an overview of your oranization in one place!

Markus- glad you had a nice vacation.
One thing I'm sure others have mentioned, but I just want to suggest again is the team vs. team chart in OOTP 6, so that you could see how each team fared against other teams in wins and losses over the series series. I especially miss it at playoff time, when I look at the match-ups and wonder how they did against each other during the regular season. |

I'd like the ability to implement additional leagues "after" the start league button push.
I'd like hitting streaks recorded on the leaderboard, or tallied somewhere. Adds to the fun factor while playing out your games. I know they're kept on a players individual card, but added to a stat screen you could see compiled would be sweet. I'd especially like to see as mentioned allready is a fix this year this game for the pitcher aging problem. I've done everything imaginable to the pitcher development and aging in my historical restarts (so named because i can't get past this problem), but my pitchers; ALL of them decline at age 31. Upon reaching age 31 they decline so quickly that by 32 they're either relegated to the pen, sent to the minors, cut, and then they retire; gone; bye bye before ever seeing 33 years of age. Any tips on what you've tried with your copy of the game Markus to get past this ? No sarcasm meant their btw just a thought. A hope; a prayer
