Cool, I'll wait for this. If you start a league and adjust the modifiers in the middle of a season when they come out, will it still help or will the damage already be done?

Hits: 1.037
Doubles: 1.025
Triples: 0.700 (this one has the most variation, it seems to range from being 5% high to 5% low)
Homeruns: 1.096
BB: 0.952
HBP: 1.204
K: 1.082

I'm going to play around with the Player Creation Modifiers and see if I can find some values that work so the newly created players are at about the same level as the current Major Leaguers in Cubby's roster set. If VSLCommish or anyone else finds some settings that seem to work please post them so we can all test them out.
Great work, these numbers came out perfect looking around a season I simmed, perfect leaderboard.

So is anyone still testing the set for drafted fictional players? I would but my computer is too slow.

I've done some preliminary work. I took Cubby's roster set and broke down each of the categories that can be affected by the Player Creation Modifiers to see how many players fell into each range (ie: 95-100, 90-95, 85-89)

I then created a fictional legague based on the MLB setup and am seeing how the computer creates players based on the default PCM settings.

The problem I am finding is that the average rating for players in both leagues so far is very similar, but the default settings result in a much larger range than Cubby's roster set. If we lower the PCM settings, the best players in the league will be similar to Cubby's, but I'm afraid that the average player in the league will be much worse. So far I've only gone through the Contact and Gap ratings, so I don't know if this will continue to hold true, but so far it does.

How many rounds are you using? I would think reducing/increasing the rounds may be one way to solve this problem, but I'm not sure.

That could do it. Right now I'm just looking at the distribution when the AI creates a new league. Haven't had time to sim many seasons and study them, too busy at work

Are there problems if you don't have enough rounds in the draft?

They've been using the humidor for years there.. The reason the numbers are down is because it took the Rockies 13 years to realize that they need sinker ballers on their team...
