You have to consider more than the teams who are now defunct, and the one that moved. It's happened in the course of 1996-Present, and MLS is looking into even more teams to add on. There's four to five more cities rumored to have plans in the league expansion, and others considered in league expansion. The considered ones aren't much to worry about, as it's just MLS planning ahead it seems, but the ones who are trying to get in around the 2008-2009 period and are close to doing so are the ones to think about.
It brings up Fallschirmjager's question, if they can support this kind of expansion or not.

I realize that foreign teams in leagues happens all the time. But I simply don't see what Toronto brings to MLS other than higher travel bills, a beautiful city, and tax issues for American players.

Steering back on topic, what are your favorite European leagues? I follow the Bundesliga, Premiership and Ligue 1 fairly closely. My favorite team is Bayern Munchen (my mother grew up in Bayern) and overall my favorite league is the Bundesliga.

![]() Monaco do play in Ligue 1, again in part because they don't have a top flight league in the principality, but as for Barcelona and the Basque clubs playing in Spain, well that's because those regions are still a part of Spain, and their "FA's" are not members of UEFA or FIFA. |

Liverpool ends the drought this year. This is the beginning of a Red Reign.

What other Basque club is in La Liga besides Athletic of Bilbao? Amazing how decently Athletic does working under their vow of chastity.

dola,
One of the quality challenges in Football Manager is trying to achieve continued success with Athletic and their unique player restriction.

They used to be like Athletic and have only Basque players at the club, but no they don't any more. |

I have immense respect for Athletic Bilbao. It's impressive when you can make a political stand and still survive in one of the world's toughest leagues. They sometimes take heat for it, but their promotion of Basque players is admirable.

I really do not see how Chelsea can not win the EPL this year
My early predictions is that they will do the double and win both the EPL and FA cup. However I do not think they will win the UEFA Champions League. Im thinking a smaller club will suprise everyone and make a deep run if not outright win it. |
