Great, I kept wondering what was the easiest way to release an arbitration eligible contract (little did I know it just couldn't happen). Thx 4 the update!!

Just to clarify again, I confirmed that this works in the next patch. I had an arbitration-eligible player. One day after the playoffs ended, my player expenses were $60,845,580. I released the player, and my player expenses were still $60,845,580.

I'm going to move this to the Claimed Fixed forum.
