Part of the struggle in designing this version is, of course, that the # of minor league teams is no longer fixed. Therefore, the game has to be flexible enough to accommodate a number of minor leagues - the default major league-style league would have 5 minors. So, given that you weren't going to be able to fit all of those on the screen, I think Markus elected to go with a 2x2 screen to make the screen a little less cramped, and to be able to include some basic information about each player.

Each of the boxes in the 2x2 set is customizable. So, if you wanted to have your screen show 4 minor league levels, you could do that. Remember, you also have right-click functionality where you can right-click on a player and perform a transaction.

So, perhaps that doesn't assuage your fears, but perhaps it helps understand a bit better.

Thanks!

Steve
I was aware that there were now 5 minor league stops, but I failed to take that into consideration. I can see now how it would make sense to go with the 2x2, especially if you can customize the windows as you say. I was afraid those windows were set and that you would have to change the tabs at the top to reach a certain minor league team. It does put to bed some of my fears. Thanks.

Does anybody else have to catch themselves from trying to scroll down in these screenshots?

I like the CERA, but is it really meaningful in OOTP? Do catchers in OOTP have an effect on how a pitcher pitches? (Would be awesome, if so!)

Isn't that something? One notch on the said-he-would-deliver list that I'm hoping our appreciation for is sustained throughout all of our evaluations.

If it turns out a nicely as it looks like it will (and I'd still love to see about a 50-season html dump and upload to just browse around in), then I will be be twice as effusive after the release as I was critical in January. Right now, it looks awesome.

Ah, I'd forgotten, until your mention, that early vehemence. Must be some consolation that your voice, in no way representative of a few, was heard. I think you'll be very pleased and, of course, equally welcome to voice new concerns and suggestions along the way. Our involvement can make differences that we actually lack the ability to ultimately measure. Thanks for having provided yours so early on in the process.

I think the actual stat header should be "INN" for innings played at that position. I notice on the new screenshots it also uses IP for position players like LF Jose Mena.

For accuracy it should probably be changed on fielding reports to INN.
