1- The new league history is unbelievable. It gives you virtually everything you would expect to find with Catobase or BaseballReference.com and it is all done automatically within the game.
Amen. Can't wait to see one uploaded somewhere.

2- The sim speed. I was averaging under 2 minutes in quick sim mode to progress through an entire calendar year. That includes simming all games, importing rookies, conducting the amateur draft and all free agent activity. I did not time it exactly but I ran a sim from 1947 thru 2004 and it was done in under three hours.
Double amen.

I second that notion. This game might just live up to all the hype

In historical league, if you sim 50 years ahead starting for example in 1941, will it automatic import the rookies for you?

This way you can step away from the computer and not have to manually import the rookies each year when it simming ahead.

Judging from the blog, I'd say the answer is 'yes'. TF said he let it run for a few hours, and those were real player names in his reports.

It may have only been a coincidence.

Dola, about the historical sim, how is OOTP2006 handling the fact that if you use the Lahman database there's no way to have full minors? Are fictional players generated but tagged as not being able to go above AAA or something?

Yes it will import them automatically. That is a big part of why it only took a couple of minutes to sim a full year out.

OK, now I am officially excited! As always, TF gives great blog.

A question Ive not seen answered, but which TF may have encountered in testing: with divisional play, is it possible to isolate divisional stats from overall accumulations? Perhaps more importantly, is it possible to isolate interleague stats? I hope to construct a universe with limited IL play, and would like to track the history of such games aside from the totals as a whole.

Sorry if this seems hijacky, not my intent.

On the team options page, there is a button called "Generate logo".... how does that work exactly??

If I had to make a guess, it'd be a piece of code that takes the abbreviation and the color codes to make a simple letter-based logo.

I thought that was a possibility, but then I'd wonder why you'd want a button for that. I'd think that sort of "logo generation" would be automatic. What do you get then if you don't click the button?

It is probably just so that you can take a look at it real quick when entering new color codes.

Ah, good point. That makes sense.

edited to add: Perhaps then "Preview Logo" might be better wording for that button.

My guess is the logo that appears with the three letters are generated by default. If you want to change the three letters, you change the abbreviation and hit "generate logo" and it should change it for you. Of course, this is all speculation as I am not a beta tester
