Baltimore
AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST PREVIEW AND CAPSULES
Baltimore Orioles Starting Rotation 1. Michael “Frenchy” Jacinto (17 years old, 4/8/6) 2. Joe Dalessio (17 years old, 4/7/6) 3. Jonah Bowers (19 years old, 7/6/4) 4. Edgar Bassham (25 years old, 4/7/6) 5. Freddie Almaraz (23 years old, 5/4/6) Bullpen 1. Derrick Linhart (20 years old, 4/7/6) 2. Bill Coffman (24 years old, 4/7/5) 3. Lewis Limones (21 years old, 6/4/6) 4. Tony Vargas (21 years old, 5/6/6) CL Anthony Severino (23 years old, 5/7/6) Lineup RF Juan Martinez (24 years old, 5/4/3, 7 range, .979) 3B Anthony Hallock (18 years old, 4/5/5, 8 range, .956) LF Randell Cullen (21 years old, 6/7/8, 8 range, .996) 1B Gregory McClung (22 years old, 6/5/4, 3 range, .991) CF Maurice Smith (24 years old, 6/4/5, 5 range, .995) C Eric Froehlich (19 years old, 4/4/5, 7 range, .977) SS Fred Carrier (17 years old, 4/6/3, 6 range, .968) DH David Cardillo (21 years old, 4/5/4) 2B Thomas Martin (19 years old, 4/4/3, 8 range, .978) Prognosis --Orioles built a great defensive team. Most of the pitchers are more fly ball hurlers than ground ballers, so that deep range in the outfield will help trememdously. The pitching staff is built on control, so they will hit their spots and should do decent enough to keep them in games. The offense is nothing spectacular, short of Cullen who should be a superstar. They should finish in the top half of the AL East. Last edited by Vris; 07-10-2005 at 10:25 PM. |

AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST PREVIEW AND CAPSULES
Boston Red Sox Starting Rotation 1. Joseph Tolliver (17 years old, 5/7/5) 2. Jerry Tao (17 years old, 7/4/6) 3. Joseph Milardo (21 years old, 5/6/5) 4. Ronald Hove (20 years old, 5/6/4) 5. John Brown (20 years old, 4/6/6) Bullpen 1. Armando Espinoza (24 years old, 5/5/6) 2. Scott Crowder (18 years old, 6/6/4) 3. Juan Vera (17 years old, 4/4/7) 4. Leopoldo Espinosa (23 years old, 5/3/6) CL Johnathan Robinson (17 years old, 8/4/5) Lineup LF Donald Etheredge (17 years old, 5/4/5, 3 range, .997) DH Casimiro Jiminez (25 years old, 5/3/3) 1B Fernando “King Kong” Chavez (25 years old, 7/8/8, 6 range, .998) 3B Steffen Flesher (22 years old, 4/7/4, 5 range, .936) RF Carlton Brickely (21 years old, 6/5/5, 8 range, .982) CF James Dublin (21 years old, 4/5/4, 5 range, .998) 2B Michael Banta (17 years old, 5/5/3, 8 range, .978) SS Robert Peterson (25 years old, 4/5/4, 3 range, .977) C Jimmie Walker (23 years old, 4/3/3, 6 range, .987) Prognosis --The middle of the order could be dangerous, with Chavez, Flesher, and Brickely, but it's a crap shoot the rest of the way. The pitching is especially weak after the first two in the rotation. I can't see this team competing right now. Banta is fast, though. Expect him to be among the league leaders in SB. Cleveland
AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST PREVIEW AND CAPSULES
Cleveland Indians Starting Rotation 1. Larry York (18 years old, 7/6/7) 2. Martin Miranda (17 years old, 5/6/7) 3. Tim Hickerson (22 years old, 6/5/4) 4. Siro Torres (21 years old, 5/7/5) 5. Carmelo Casares (23 years old, 4/6/5) Bullpen 1. Clarence Henriquez (19 years old, 4/7/6) 2. Lucio Ruelas (25 years old, 5/4/6) 3. Joshua Cassette (22 years old, 6/5/5) 4. Thomas Piatt (19 years old, 4/5/6) CL Albert Velez (20 years old, 7/6/6) Lineup 2B Matt King (17 years old, 5/4/6, 6 range, .990) 3B William Barnett (17 years old, 5/4/5, 6 range, .953) C Larry Thomas (17 years old, 5/7/8, 4 range, .983) DH John Carpino (19 years old, 6/6/8) LF Bill Olivas (21 years old, 6/5/5, 4 range, .981) 1B Robert Pope (23 years old, 5/3/5, 3 range, .992) SS Lloyd Herzberg (22 years old, 4/4/5, 2 range, .977) CF Ernest Hill (18 years old, 5/5/4, 6 range, .981) RF Paul Fryer (17 years old, 4/5/3, 8 range, .979) Prognosis --An extremely deep pitching staff, and a very talented offense. Thomas and Carpino could be the best 3-4 duo in the American League. The rest of the offense should produce enough to keep them in games. Management should hope that the starters go deep. It's not that the bullpen is awful (Velez is going to be wonderful), but why waste great outings by the starters? |

Detroit
AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST PREVIEW AND CAPSULES
Detroit Tigers Starting Rotation 1. Robert Betancourt (18 years old, 4/7/7) 2. Lorenzo Lazo (22 years old, 6/7/5) 3. Tyler McGonigal (21 years old, 5/7/5) 4. Kevin Kirwan (18 years old, 5/6/6) 5. James Harvey (24 years old, 4/7/6) Bullpen 1. Federico Aguilar (24 years old, 5/7/6) 2. Alfonso Vazquez (19 years old, 4/7/4) 3. Louis Childs (17 years old, 6/5/5) 4. Daniel Selman (23 years old, 4/6/6) CL Larry Hamilton (22 years old, 5/7/6) Lineup 3B Michael Hopkins (18 years old, 5/2/6, 3 range, .961) DH Chris Dickerson (20 years old, 5/3/4) 1B Austin Ellis (22 years old, 7/7/7, 4 range, .998) SS John Sales (18 years old, 4/7/4, 3 range, .979) C Jim Dunn (24 years old, 5/5/6, 7 range, .973) CF Andy Kim (23 years old, 5/5/6, 4 range, .986) 2B Raymond Carmean (20 years old, 5/5/4, 8 range, .976) LF Pasqual Fons (18 years old, 5/4/5, 5 range, .992) RF Louis Boggs (18 years old, 5/3/5, 8 range, .988) Prognosis --I like this Tigers team a lot. The pitching is there and will keep them competitive. The lineup is so-so, but Ellis is a beast and everyone else is pretty solid, if unspectacular. They should get the job done. The one thing that scares me is the defense up the middle, other than Carmean, is shaky. Hopefully it won't affect them all too much. |

Milwaukee
AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST PREVIEW AND CAPSULES
Milwaukee Brewers Staring Rotation 1. Chris Waters (18 years old, 6/6/5) 2. Alan Currey (23 years old, 5/7/5) 3. Gerald Naughton (19 years old, 4/6/6) 4. Mathew Clingerman (23 years old, 5/4/7) 5. Jesus Molina (19 years old, 5/6/5) Bullpen 1. Claudio Quiroz (17 years old, 6/4/5) 2. Timo Beltran (17 years old, 4/5/6) 3. Kenneth Grossi (21 years old, 6/7/4) 4. Anthony Boyer (23 years old, 4/7/5) CL Gilbert Kent (23 years old, 4/7/4) Lineup LF Philip Ward (19 years old, 5/4/5, 8 range, .984) RF Stanley Jackson (17 years old, 6/3/5, 4 range, .989) 3B Zachary “The Sorceror” Mericle (17 years old, 6/7/8, 8 range, .947) 1B Jose Valdecilla (22 years old, 6/7/6, 3 range, .993) 2B Melvin Flemming (18 years old, 5/6/5, 3 range, .990) C Michael McLean (20 years old, 4/7/4, 5 range, .982) SS Jerry kettle (21 years old, 4/6/4, 7 range, .959) CF Mike Cory (24 years old, 5/4/3, 6 range, .985) DH Felip Valtierra (19 years old, 5/3/3) Prognosis --Another “all offense, no pitching” team. Incredibly average rotation, and the bullpen looks to be no help. Only Grossi looks to be anything interesting there. The lineup is scary though. Ward and Jackson are great leadoff guys for Mericle, Valdecilla, Fleming, and even McLean. As long as their lineup holds, they should score runs. However, defense looks to be an issue. I expect a couple years before this team can truly compete. Last edited by Vris; 07-10-2005 at 10:37 PM. |

New York (A)
AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST PREVIEW AND CAPSULES
New York Yankees Starting Rotation 1. Anthony “Cutter” Petrovich (18 years old, 8/6/7) 2. Richard Jurado (20 years old, 4/7/5) 3. Juan Durazo (25 years old, 5/6/6) 4. Darrell Amerson (17 years old, 5/5/6) 5. George Rex (17 years old, 5/4/6) Bullpen 1. Enrique Sanchez (20 years old, 5/6/4) 2. Daniel Goehring (24 years old, 6/6/4) 3. Tyson McFalls (19 years old, 5/5/6) 4. Franky Ruiz (17 years old, 5/6/5) CL Jack Toothman (17 years old, 5/8/4) Lineup LF Percy Ford (25 years old, 5/5/6, 5 range, .981) CF John Ishmael (20 years old, 5/5/4, 4 range, .992) 2B Mark Worley (17 years old, 5/7/6, 3 range, .981) C Bruce Stoltenberg (22 years old, 5/6/8, 4 range, .986) 3B Antonio Valezquez (24 years old, 5/5/6, 5 range, .973) 1B Donald Douglas (22 years old, 5/5/3, 3 range, .985) SS Adam McFaddin (19 years old, 5/3/5, 4 range, .959) RF Jacob Singleton (21 years old, 4/4/5, 6 range, .983) DH Brandon Kaiser (20 years old, 5/4/2, 7 range, .987) Prognosis --When looking at the Yanks lineup, what stands out is amazing. They have 3 players that are above and beyond every other player on the roster. Petrovich, Worley, and Stoltenberg are stars and will have to carry this team of average ball players. Can they do it over a 162 game schedule? The success of this team depends solely on their sets of shoulders. They are also the only team in the AL East with a true number one starter. |

AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST PREVIEW AND CAPSULES
Toronto Blue Jays Starting Rotation 1. Thomas Graham (21 years old, 5/8/5) 2. Walter Phelps (20 years old, 4/5/7) 3. Andrew Printz (21 years old, 5/5/7) 4. Asdrubal Oliveras (22 years old, 4/6/6) 5. Gerardo Velazquez (20 years old, 5/7/4) Bullpen 1. Richard Stokes (19 years old, 5/6/6) 2. William Carl (20 years old, 4/6/5) 3. Marvin Arredondo (22 years old, 5/7/5) 4. Buford Lemond (19 years old, 5/7/5) CL Ward Partida (18 years old, 5/7/5) Lineup SS Lamar Silva (18 years old, 5/2/5, 4 range, .955) C Tobias Furtado (20 years old, 5/2/5, 3 range, .988) 3B Harold “Ice Cold” Waldron (17 years old, 7/8/8, 5 range, .943) CF Bill Neilson (21 years old, 5/7/4, 4 range, .988) RF Ryan Headen (19 years old, 5/7/3, 7 range, .989) DH Ernesto Sojo (18 years old, 4/6/3) 2B John Younker (17 years old, 4/4/5, 4 range, .978) LF Bernard Hamler (23 years old, 4/6/2, 8 range, .999) 1B Valeriano Belmonte (20 years old, 5/5/3, 4 range, .997) Prognosis --Solid rotation, excellent bullpen, decent lineup top to bottom. The Jays will put a few out of the yard, that's for sure. Waldron, Neilson, Headen,, as well as Sojo and Hamler, have the ability to jack one out at will. One upsetting trend is that no one likes to walk. A bunch of swing-first attitudes. I really like the pitching here though. |

This looks interesting. How did you make the draft 17-25 year olds only? Also, maybe it was just me, but it seemed like a lot of the guys in the draft were pretty well along in their development for their age. What are all of the talent and progress modifiers set to?

I just created a fictional league and edited all the players age and service time. Didn't touch ratings or anything else. I have it so I'll get 1987 totals, so the numbers shouldn't be absurd. But who knows?! That's the fun of it all. |
