I have yet to hear back from the 1st guy who asked if he could join the league. (Hasn't logged in since 12-31-09)

I am going to put out a general notice in a separate thread inquiring if anyone else wants to join.

I have received confirmations from both guys that were sent invitations.

Once I hear back from both guys concerning the new team names and such, I will make an official 'welcome' announcement.

Following that, we can press on w/ league business including the rules changes/adds polls and determining a draft date that works for everyone.

If anyone has any further suggestions, please PM them to me or just post them to the board.

(Sorry this off-season is taking so long. Hopefully we'll be back on track very soon)

UTBA-II welcomes the following new members into the league....

zyberianwarrior takes over the Bonner Springs Bald Beavers franchise

The team has been renamed the Floridian Hurricanes and will be relocating to the Semilole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa FL

BigBoyBrackey takes over the Oakland Assassins franchise

The team has been renamed the Buffalo Norsemen and will be relocating to the Broadway Auditorium in Buffalo NY.

Now we can move on to league business in preparation for the Season 4 Draft and such

NOTE: I've been stuck w/ working OT the last couple of days (including right now) so I haven't been able to post much lately.

Possible rules changes/additions will be posted over the next day or so (as long as I don't have too much extra OT)

All members are encouraged to vote as well as comment on each issue presented. UTBA-II is a 'majority rules' league and all rules changes/adds will be decided that way.

Please keep in mind that I would prefer to keep any changes simple so that the league remains manageble to run.

It's the Norsemen, in honor of a minor-league hockey team that played in Buffalo in 1975-76. They were involved in a brawl before a playoff game that was the inspiration for a similar scene in "Slapshot." Plus, they provide me with a ready-made logo ...

I hope to honor the Oakland legacy. I like the heavyweights a lot, Glencoffe Johnson is always solid and Joey Giambra is a Buffalo guy from way back -- his son used the be the county executive here, but flamed out in rather spectacular fashion. I remember reading that he and Joey are estranged.

Thanks to all who welcomed me into the league. It should be fun.

Now, to figure out how the draft works ...

I should be able to post the polls tomorrow.

Had a miserable work week that included 18 hrs of OT in 3 days. (I got home yesterday at 7:30pm, had to go back out at 10:00pm and just got home this afternoon at 4:30)

I'm too exhausted to put anything together right now.

There a now 6 different polls posted concerning UTBA-II Rules and the upcoming Draft.

As soon as there is a majority consensus on these issues, we can prepare for and schedule the Season 4 Draft.
