CD, start you new dynasty league again... just let the game set it up for you... OOTP22 is really very stable... I have never had any trouble with it.

If the installation of flags is causing the problem, just don't install the flags.

Just let the AI set it up for you... and try to keep it simple.

Once you get the league up and running, then try to adjust the settings.

No, it's not at all connected to you, this unhappiness about certain things not working as planned here, I believe. It relates at least partly to certain non-OOTP-related matters as well, but not entirely to them, for sure.

The flag-related issue in question that I'm having at the present time essentially relates to my current inability to change at least one nation's flag that I was able to change earlier, even in my still-working OOTP 22 dynasty, and in various dynasties from other versions of OOTP. It's not that I don't want to use the flag that's giving me a problem, at present, mind you, but I don't want to use it for a certain in-game area at least as of this particular time and all here, if I don't actually have to. And I know very little, if anything, about working with XML files and certain other types of files, and I don't want to run the risk of ruining any needed files permanently, for obvious reasons, of course.

I hope someone can help me figure out how best to deal with the matter in question that's currently giving me fits and all here, so that I can have at least two working OOTP 22 dynasties, just in case one of them were to get corrupted and all somehow, you see. And maybe having multiple dynasties would help inspire me with other projects of mine as well that aren't primarily OOTP-related, too.

I had everything basically planned out and set up, with at least two or three attempts at creating said dynasty or dynasties, including many uniforms, caps, and/or logos, for at least one of them. But this current flag-related issue, at least, if nothing else as well, ultimately required that I scrap those attempts at creating said dynasty or dynasties, unfortunately, EC.

You generally prefer simplicity and are often quite direct, to say the least. But you are honest, and I really do appreciate that greatly from you, for sure. We don't always agree with each other, obviously, but I still do know you actually do care about me, as a mentor of sorts to me. I suppose we are both stubborn in our own ways at times, in each of our own lives. And as that is the case, we periodically may find it hard to not get frustrated or something with each other around here, for various reasons.

I also think that due to our respective life experiences and all, we often find it hard to find sufficient common ground, when it comes to certain matters we deal with between us both here, because we each may have certain kinds of experiences the other one may have lacked in their life. Because of that lack of common ground at times, it may be hard for us to relate to each other when it comes to certain things, until we've had more of a chance to clarify what we're thinking and all here better.

My discussions about my various writing projects have often helped me progress on my graphics, I think, and vice versa. Or on other matters related to me, most likely, if I'm not too mistaken here. Yes, I know many of the posts in this thread have no real apparent relation to graphics design, and I freely admit that. But they're still important to consider here in many cases, as they directly relate to me and my creative processes, both OOTP-related and not OOTP-related, and to my personal growth in various key areas of my life, EC.

While I'm definitely not in charge of these forums and all, of course, I do believe I should be able to still periodically discuss certain matters here, even if they don't immediately seem to have any real apparent/evident connection to my graphics-related work, just the same. But seeing as that is evidently frowned on now in this particular thread, at least to some degree here, I suppose that I'll then have to go along with the moderators' wishes until and unless those wishes change here, of course.

You have your ways of doing things, and I have mine. But that's perfectly fine with me, EC. As long as our Master's will is done to the best of our respective abilities, for as long as we're both still alive on this current planet of ours, no matter what it is, that's all that really ever matters in it here, don't you think? Also, that personal matter I mentioned in post 3748 of this thread is still on my mind, so that's still affecting me to at least some degree here, if not to a great degree. As I said, I can't and won't go into details here, but it's not a matter that I can easily resolve mentally any time in the near future, most likely. At least not without the Lord's help, anyway, I'm quite sure. It'll probably affect me for quite some time into the future yet, if not for the rest of my life instead on this planet, however. Just so you know, EC.

I'll talk more later, as time permits and all, about various things, but not about that particular important personal matter here. Hopefully, I'll still be able to somehow remain fairly productive, whether it relates to doing graphics here for anyone on the forums or not, of course, Lord willing and all, you know, for as long as I'm still on these forums. I suppose you are wondering, or at least many of you, why I have not been posting for months anywhere on these message boards at all. Even so, I have STILL been lurking on these forums, periodically viewing many threads and collecting various graphics on them from time to time, whether old or new, as time then allows and the mood then strikes me. This will be a very long post, so please try and bear with me here.

Eugene and jg2977, I of course do gladly continue to view your various threads just as often as I possibly can. Although I don't follow your IPA thread as closely, possibly, since you cut back on the coverage of my created players, whether renamed or not, and of the MLB-related components for that dynasty, jg2977. It still is a rather interesting dynasty to follow, but I enjoyed following my created players, win or lose, and the MLB-related components of it, to a rather great degree, to be sure. I personally think there currently are far too many teams in the IPA playoffs for your IPA. But it isn't my dynasty to run as I see fit, it's yours. So I fully accept that fact, even though I'd honestly prefer a much smaller playoff field for your IPA, in truth.

EC, as always, I will continue and have continued to follow your various active dynasty threads, along with various other forum threads that you've periodically created and/or commented in on these forums. Please do keep the updates coming in regards to the players that you've created for me in your leagues as you might then like and can, because I definitely DO want to see them whenever possible, I promise you that, without ANY possible doubt at all, Lord willing.

For the last few months, at least, more or less, I have not really been able to create many graphics except through largely, if not entirely, AI-generated art and/or often heavy picture manipulation of various flags and/or other images, whether recolored or not, using various websites, most frequently Lunapic dot com and Flagmashupbot's page on Twitter to get some work or original source material to work with, for instance, in the latter case here. My eventual final picture-related results often vary immensely after all the picture manipulations done of the original source pictures. I frequently make especially elaborate carpet-like patterns by the time I'm done working with certain starting source images, in fact. I've made several hundred images, if not at least a thousand, after working with various source images like I have, for quite some time now. If and when I ever am able to create any more team-related graphics again for posting on these forums, you may see them appear somehow as backgrounds for them, if not as parts of them instead, whether or not they've already been present for my designs here in the past, everyone.

I unfortunately have NOT been able, in any case, to write much more, if ANYTHING, for ANY of my writing-related projects for at least a few months. I HAVE tried to also create sufficiently original graphics or have tried to get sufficiently useful AI-related art generated so that I can resume writing my stories again, for instance. But the needed inspiration, and the needed words, still aren't coming to me for them both here. Even after much prayer, at least several unwinnable games of Civilization IV-related video games, some playing of OOTP, and/or reading things both online and offline, at least, in truth. I've periodically added to my appropriate notes and/or picture files, in the meantime, of course, but I'm still unable to write more content for ANY of my stories.

This thread was originally created by one of the finest men, if not THE finest man, I've ever been blessed to communicate with on these boards, one Eugene Church, in his humble graciousness, his wonderful kindness, and his unmistakable mercy here, I firmly believe. He created it as a means to try to help me stay out of trouble on these message boards, and to try to help me deal with my Asperger's Syndrome which can be, and is, quite often very difficult to deal with on a daily basis. I have absolutely no doubt at all that our Lord led him to do so, and for that, I will be eternally grateful to both God and him here, for sure.

Since this thread was originally created, I have largely stayed out of trouble on these forums, have I not? I have largely stuck to my own threads, except with commenting in jg2977 or EC-related threads, more or less, as I have. I admit that I can and often do get rather long-winded, so to speak, at times, whenever I post, and what I might say in these posts may not always immediately seem germane enough to the main topic of discussion in a particular thread. But if I'm given enough time and enough of a chance, I'm often able to logically tie things together better, I believe.

As I am an Aspie, my brain probably doesn't work quite a bit as many of your brains often do work in your own respective lives. As that may indeed heavily be the case here, let me please then try to better explain some potentially important things to you all here just as best as I can, so you can all hopefully understand me better here to at least some reasonable degree, somehow.

1. I am RATHER forgetful at times. As that is the case, If I don't write things down at times, whether online or offline, I often quickly forget them for at least a little while, if not forever, unfortunately. Even certain things I might need to actually remember at certain times. Hence why I've periodically mentioned them here in my various threads, even if they don't seem to tie in very well with them, if at all, in truth.

2. Personally, I'm QUITE disorganized often with my paper notes, for instance, so it is OFTEN VERY difficult for me to remember just where I might put certain things at times in my own life, whether they're on the computer or not. Also, I have periodically had electronic devices go bad or certain files and/or writing-related notes, for instance, become quite inaccessible to me over the years, unfortunately. This is yet another reason why I have periodically mentioned other things related to me in various threads, especially ones under my direct control here, as yet another place where I can see such mentions, if such accessibility problems might eventually occur at least one more time in my life as they've done at least a few times before in it, for sure.

3. Talking certain things out often helps me properly and logically reason many things out in my life, whether they're heavily related to graphics or not, in truth. As an Aspie, with little outside contact with most others besides in cyberspace, I definitely need to be able to discuss various things as I work through my creative process, no matter how non-germane they may each immediately seem to be at times to graphics-related designing and/or production here. Which now brings me to my next point here, folks, although I'm definitely NOT asking for special treatment at all, but just for fair and understanding treatment here on these forums from everyone here, moderators or not, for sure.

4. I have often noticed well that many graphics designers, for instance, are allowed to talk at rather considerable length and in rather considerable detail about their lives and their inspirations for their various designs and/or dynasties, and have been for quite some time. But since I have been told that I must stick strictly to graphics-related posts in this thread, and am not allowed to do the same without being told that this thread might be moved to Off-Topic Discussions, how is that fair to me, when my talking about such things for me in my own life has often helped me, both graphically and writing-wise, at least, if not in the real offline world as well? IF others are allowed to talk about their lives and inspirations to at least some degree here, shouldn't I ALSO be freely able to do the same, folks? Again, I'm NOT asking for special treatment, but just for fair and understanding treatment. Simply put, if they are allowed to do so, I should be able to do the same too, in turn.

5. Yes, I am fully aware that there have to be rules that people on these forums have to follow if they wish to remain on them, and I gladly support the enforcement of those rules as any particular situation might warrant such enforcement. But in my case here, I think the above-mentioned restriction placed on me is unfair, at least, and should be, at the least, reconsidered here.

6. This restriction has severely stifled me creatively and also considerably shut down what some might consider pipelines of inspiration for me graphically and writing-wise, at least. As long as it remains present, it is extremely likely, if not totally possible, that it will keep me from doing any more OOTP-related graphics and/or writing more for my writing projects, to sufficient enough degrees for any or all of them, in fact. In essence, then, this restriction placed on me has effectively put CD's Ultra-Fine House of Style out of business for quite some time, if not permanently, unfortunately, which isn't a good thing, for sure, in my eyes right now, folks. For it to be able to potentially start up again easily enough, then, this restriction must at least be reconsidered, if not totally removed, I think.

As for me and my family, personally, I am more or less okay, at least physically and mentally, I believe. However, seeing as my parents are both close to being 80 years old in my own life and in their lives, my future currently seems to be quite uncertain, for various reasons, unfortunately. Dad will be 80 in late October of this year, and Mom 77 in mid-December of this year. Of course, they both have various health issues in their own lives as they age in them, just as we all do, each of us, in our own, as you might logically expect.

Dad is not aging well, especially mentally, it seems, and it appears he may at least be in the first stages of dementia now in his life, if I'm not too mistaken here. He is becoming more and more difficult to deal with at times, it seems to me, unfortunately. He may eventually have to go into a care center of some kind at some point, like it or not, I think.

Mom, of course, has her own issues to deal with, but mentally, at least, she seems to be better off than Dad is now. However, she and I will likely not be living together for much longer, for whatever possible reasons, in the future. Especially if we would eventually have to put Dad in a care center somewhere, of course, you know.

As for me, no real potential plans for my future, either with or without me living with my parents in it, have been made or talked about much yet, unfortunately. I can't drive, for instance, for various reasons, and technically, I am disabled in at least one way, officially. I won't likely ever really be able to live totally on my own. And I will probably need at least some government help in the future, whether my parents are still around me in it or not, to be sure.

Fortunately, I do and will have God on my side forever, as long as I follow Him in my life as best as I can. And I have my other brother, the one who has NOT gone Home like my departed brother did almost ten years ago next month, on my side as well when it comes to certain matters related to me in it, at least, if not anyone else as well. God WILL ALWAYS take care of me, in any case, as He ALWAYS HAS done, for sure, folks.

Thank you for all your prayers, those of you who have actually prayed for me and mine, in the years since I first posted on the forums. Your prayers have been appreciated in the past and will continue to be, if they were and are Godly prayers and all, for sure.

But I had a whole lot to talk about here, after taking a lot of time to think about just what to say and just how to say it since my last post on these forums.

Just so you know, I bear no ill will to the one who put the restriction on me, and never have I borne any ill will towards him, and never will I bear any ill will related to it, at least. He felt the need for the restriction, although I still disagree with it, and I respect the need for order here. I just want fair treatment, not special treatment, here in any case, for sure. If you honestly do really wish to see me periodically post again on these forums, please let me know. I will still continue to play OOTP as the need and/or desire and/or ability arises for me, as well as to continue collecting graphics suitable for use in pre-23 games, at least, I"m sure, in any case. But whether or not I continue to post here depends at least in some part on whether or not my various posts of assorted kinds are still sufficiently welcome here on these forums, whether made in my threads or not.

If my main graphics thread is moved to Off-Topic Discussions, however, the chances of me actually doing at least a bit more posting on these forums will then be heavily reduced, if not totally destroyed, honestly. For I will then take it as a significant sign that my presence here may no longer be needed or wanted as much, even if that may not actually be true here for many, if not all, of you here. I would really hate not being able to post here like I might need and/or want to. But if I am not sufficiently able to do so any longer, for whatever possible reason or reasons that might exist here somehow, then I will unfortunately have to leave these forums until and unless that fact changes for me enough, I think, folks. I hope you will continue to post your graphics here in this thead... for whatever reason, people read this thead... the current view is 151,000 views... it is one of the most read threads on the Mods Forum.
Second on the list is 80,000 views... third is 22,000 views... only the stickeyed threads get more views than this thread.
And yep, I realize that this thread is long-running and really will last only as long as you post graphics.

The solution is simple... you can use this thread for graphics... and you can create another thread on the Off-Topic Forum for the book you are writing.
You can do both... use this thread to create and show your graphics... and use the other forum to tell the viewers about your book and the problems you have with it.

Please try to do it.
You will have no problem on the Mods Forum if if you just use it to post graphic creations.

Hope you will soon again start posting your graphics here.
