![]() EDIT: Actually you're right it is 24. Somehow we've jumped the gun like kids on Christmas Day. I see that you posted #59 and #58 on January 20th, and then #57 on January 21st, so I'm holding you responsible for this traveshamockery.

I suppose we could always do the #0 on March 19th and the #00 on March 20th to make it work.

On to #22. This guy was a bit of a whackjob. One of his stated career goals was to urinate in the outfield of every baseball stadium. Um...Classy...Not. I have no idea if he achieved this goal, but what we all loved about him as kids was that sometimes he opted for the basket catch in CF. We thought that was the coolest. I can't recall if any injuries were sustained in practicing basket catches, but it's quite possible. Never heard about the peeing thing until much later...Honest.

This guy was the consummate pro. Calm, cool, collected, and deadly. He had an amazing pickoff move, was not long on stuff, but boy did he know how to pitch, and you could never tell what the score was by looking at his face. A real treat to watch, and a very good pitcher. One of my favourite Blue Jays ever. Jimmy Key #22

22 days and counting.
The Yanks only had this gentleman for four seasons, but they were memorable ones. After both Greg Maddux and David Cone rejected lucrative offers to pitch for the Yanks following the 1992 season, they were still lucky enough to land Jimmy Key as a free agent from the reigning world champion Blue Jays. Far from being a third-rate consolation prize, Key went on to be the Yankees ace during those critical 'leap forward' years of 1993 & 94, and was even the winning pitcher in the unforgettable clinching sixth game of the 1996 WS. He was as professional and rock solid as they came.

I only got to watch the tail end of his career and can only imagine what he was like in his prime. I think he's a pretty good broadcaster too. Jim Palmer #22

LOL! I had a sneaking suspicion AJ and I would double dip on the Key Master.

22 isn't a particularly historic number for the Sox...last year, though, someone changed that a bit. He was signed to a massive contract after being traded to the Sox and underwhelmed in his first year mightily, and personally, I was ready to count it as a sunk cost. In 2016, however, everything went right for him: he posted career bests in nearly every single statistical category, including a fantastic 1.009 WHIP, en route to a Cy Young award. Hopefully he can ride this momentum for the rest of his time in a Red Sox uni. #22 Rick Porcello

It would have been so easy to post a picture of "the play" ... but this man was much much more than that, a great hitter and an outstanding hustler. So instead of posting the picture of a situation where John McNamara already should have put in a defensive replacement to rest him with his terribly hurt ankle, here are the pics that show the ballplayer Bill Buckner the way he should be remembered:

Do you remember Casper Wells, I will never forget him (A backup reserve outfielder) coming in to pitch the 18th inning of a 7-7 tie and letting up 5 runs. I was in Philly at the time and the game was 7 hours in and the bar was closing and stayed open so we could see the end of the game. He pitched 2/3 of an inning and was relieved by super utility player John McDonald.
