Is it giving you that message for all staff? Those who are more talented will have higher demands, so you might have to look at lesser talented staff for the junior ranks.

Edit: Actually, depending what you mean, there's a way to do individual team backgrounds that appear while you're watching a game being played, the manual section on modding explains it, it's under "In-game backgrounds" near the bottom of the page: Manual - Jeff

Your post is a little overboard based on not getting an answer to a question in 10 hours. It's not as if we all have the answer and are holding off on giving it to you. Your question wasn't ignored - that's not exactly the way to put it.

To be honest, there are a lot of questions that have gone unanswered in this thread and the reasons are either that I (and others who might answer) simply don't know the answer off the tops of our heads, or it would take a lot of digging to find out and thus it's not necessarily a "quick" question.

Your question should be a quick one, but I am not on a Mac, so I don't know the specifics of folders on that OS. What I would suggest you do, however, is instead post this question in the mods forum. Those are the most graphically inclined folks and no doubt some of the modders and people using the mods are on Mac and would be able to easily answer your question for you.

Just a small question on the players. Say I have a player with really good passing and puckhandling but is bad in shooting, is there a way to tell this guy to play as a playmaker and not to shoot as much. ie set a player strategy or set a player role? And similar maybe for players with good shooting or any other skill set.

oops just found the manual and also dont know how I missed the menu where you choose it. Will read that today... I mean work super hard.

Yeah, right click, select "change jersey number"... but then this menu pops up which which is not scrollable for me. It just shows me #45 to #99, but no lower numbers.

Tried this again in a fictional game. There it worked. (before it was a historical game...)

BUT: I now probably know what caused my confusion. In my first try every number from 1 to 44 was occupied. That's why I only got those higher numbers.
Now, I then tried to change numbers, but I realized that there is no way to simply have two players switch their numbers. You have to give player A (who has #11) the #50 shirt, then player B (who has #13 and you want him to have # 11) the #11 shirt. Then you have to give player A his actual new number - and hope that his number isn't occupied as well.
Every occupied number is blocked and if you want to do mulitple switches this becomes tedious.
Maybe take that as a suggestion.

That does not change anything!

I can only set up three complete forward lines. But there is no way for me to put that 10th forward into the 4th line, because I can't put anyone else beside him (no forward on two lines rule!) and I just can't leave him there alone either (no empty spots rule!).

I usually play 3 lines, and dress the remaining forward, slot him into the 4th line spot (not used) and use him only on the PK and/or PP.
So yeah, it´s the 60´s, you play with 3 forward lines - using 12 forwards starts in 81-82 iirc

I don't remember if it was this thread or another one, but someone mentioned that the expanded beyond 36 teams in a Fictional League but never heard anything official on this matter.

Yeah, but it still happens pretty frequently (in real life!!) that you end up with uneven numbers for defenders or forwards and you then can't use all skaters at even-strength. And the question remains why the AI can do it and we don't?

So I started a new game and for some reason I can't offer trades, can only force them? I'm guessing I must have accidentally set up as an online game by accident, so can you only force trades with the AI rather than offer them in that mode?

Hi Cole, thanks for your feedback !

It's indeed everyone who's giving me this message. See picture here even the "worst" person available is telling me that. They all have a "salary" of 0$, but i dont know if this is because they are FAs.

Even when i was doing the contract renewal of those asking me to stay with the team, i wasnt able to re-hire them as it was saying the same thing.

I think i might need to commish some of them in my team unfortunatly but was wondering if that was normal (if not, i can send my save file to the teams so they can look at it.)

In a future patch is it possible to add if a player is RFA/UFA on the Salary Obligation screen? I think itll make it easier assessing our rosters.

The official limit is 36.

Doesn't seem possible to add guys to an already existing MP league? When I click on Manage Human GMs (under Manager tab), I can add a guy, but then that's it--I can't enter in his info, adjust options (fog of war, GM only, etc.) or select a team for him.

2 quick questions

I have two quick questions.

1. Is there a way I can change the logos of the teams in my fictional league? I do not want to use a custom logo, simply change the current logo to another stock logo. As I have expanded my league, some teams have the same logo and this makes things confusing.

2. I have expanded my league from 8 to 16 teams so far but I want to add more teams to the playoffs so that 8 instead of 4 teams qualify and also make two conferences instead of just one. Is there a way I do those things?

I don't know why more teams aren't making the playoffs.

On the "Manage Human GMs" dialog it's possible to assign a team to the new GM with a right click on his name. Then you can go to the teams Personnel screen, the new created GM and then Edit. Now you change the personal details, the contract and his attributes. Settings like "fog of war" are no manager settings, they are under GAME -> Setup / Options and are effektive for all human manager.

We looked through this now and will change it so you can start games (or do the changes during a game) with e.g. just 3 lines and put 1-2 players into the forth line (they will then be used whenever a player is needed to fill up another line).

But we don't want to change it so close before we release a patch, so it will be in next weeks patch, so we can test it enough.
