1913 Draft

This draft was not very deep and i really don't have much to report except i took some young kid to ride the bench.
Says he's a pitcher, but i might use him somewhere else.
I thought i would take a chance on this young guy.
Oh yeah...his name was George, George Ruth.
Might have wasted a draft pick on him though.

1913-1914 Transactions

I only made one trade during the off-season and it was offered to me by the CHI White Sox.
They gave me Ben DeMott for Leo Callahan.
It looks like he could help the bullpen, so i accepted the offer.

1914 Preseason

The only change to the league structure was Brooklyn.
I guess that once again, they felt weren't superb anymore.
One day, the owner of the team went for walk and was listening to the sounds of birds chirping.
Especially the sound of the robin.
So, when he got back home, he changed the name of his team again.
So we say hello to the Brooklyn Robins.
The Predictions have us for last place again, and again, i intend to prove them wrong.
In order to stay with the Browns, i have to make the playoffs again.
So we go into Year 7 with this team.
So lets introduce to you...

THE 1914 ST. LOUIS BROWNS!!!

YEAR 7 OF 7

April 1914

Another year and another slow start.
Coming out of the gate, going 6-10 for April, is a trend that i can get used to.
As long as we continue to have our hot months later.
The STL Browns find themselves 7.5 GB of the CLE Naps, and 3.5 GB of the WAS Senators for 3rd place.
Some of my players have gotten off to early slumps like Joe Connolly and Johnny Evers.
But, lets see if May turns out to be a little better.

May 1914

We kind of stank during May, as we go 10-16 for the month to finish 13.5 GB of the PHI Athletics.
I hope June is better.
I traded Art Wilson to the PHA, for Ray Caldwell, since i needed some pitching help, and with Ted Easterly as my catcher, Wilson should be starting somewhere else.
I moved Ray Caldwell into the rotation, and some guy that my minor league coach wanted me to bring up from NOR.
He said he was already ready for the big leagues, this kid named Ruth.
I have my doubts, but ill give this kid a shot.
Who knows?
Maybe he will win me a few games and when he comes up to bat, hit a home run or two.

June 1914

I made a trade as i sent Solly Hoffman to the WAS Senators for Steve Yerkes.
Johnny Evers is killing me at SS this season, so i took some help from a team that has won 4 out of the last 5 championships.
June didnt go so good, our record for the month was 12-17, which put us dead last in the AL.
Looks like i will be managing somewhere else in 1915!

July 1914

We finally get that month we have been waiting for.
For July we go 17-9.
We are still 10.5 GB of the WAS Senators for 3rd place.
I really don't think we are going to catch them.
But that is okay, for we showed the rest of the league that we can be a good team when we want to be.
Larry Doyle and Stuffy McInnis are leading the team in batting, while we have the best bullpen in the AL.
Would be great if the starting pitching was as good as the pen.

August 1914

The month of August wasn't as good as July, but we still had a 15-12 record and we moved into 4th place in the AL.
Roster expansion occurred, so i brought up all 40-man player roster players to try to give these young guys a chance to play some big league baseball.
I really don't think we will catch the WAS Senators, so...to all you dynasty readers out there, it looks like you guys will be selecting my next team before the 1915 season.
I waived Johnny Evers to make room for Marty Kavanaugh, since he has been healed from injury.
Anyway, Evers was just not having a good year and the PHI Phillies claimed him from the waiver wire.
I hope he does well in Philly.
One month left for me in charge of the STL Browns.

September-October 1914

The STL Browns go 18-12 for the final month of the season and we manage to finish with a winning record.
We don't make the playoffs, but i am proud of what this team has accomplished and i wish them the best of luck with their new GM.
This was the 5th time i didnt make the playoffs, therefore it is time to move on to the next club.
It was fun in St. Louis, now i hope to lead a new team to the playoffs and hopefully, a championship.
Playoff and Off-season report is coming soon, and then, you readers will decide who my next victim, er..i mean team is.

1914 Playoffs

Is the dynasty in the nation's capital over?
The WAS Senators do not make the world series for the 1st time in SIX years.
However, the AL takes back the WS crown as the PHI Athletics win their 1st world series championship since 1901.
The A's defeat the PIT Pirates 4-3.
It was the 1st time they went to the world series since 1902.
The AL continues to dominate the championships, winning 11 out of 14 WS.
Congrats to the Athletics.

Dynasty Manager Placement 1915-1919

This is the listing of teams that you guys can put me in charge of for the next 5 years of the dynasty.

Its very simple...for me to remain with the chosen team, i have to reach the playoffs in the first five years or i am eliminated from the team.

For every year i reach the playoffs with the chosen team, i get an extra year of eligibility.

If i win the World Series with the chosen team, i am done with that team for the rest of the dynasty.

My goal is to win a World Series with all MLB baseball teams that will participate in my dynasty.

This standings board lists the teams that are now available for you guys to choose from.

The teams that are REDDED OUT are teams that I have won the World Series with and is no longer available as a choice for the rest of the dynasty.

The teams that are HIGHLIGHTED, are teams that i have just managed and did not win the World Series with after 5 years or more including any playoff years. These teams are not available again until i have managed each team in the league at least once.

Remember: The first reply i receive from you dynasty watchers is the team that will be chosen for me to manage for the next five or more years.

Please note: It DOESN'T have to a be a last place or first place team. It can be any team that you choose.

To give me a little help, whomever your choice is, i will automatically give myself the FIRST pick in the upcoming draft.

That will give me a chance to bring and cultivate a top player to help my team out for the next five years.

So...without further delay...

I present to you the current listing of available baseball teams!!

WHO AM I MANAGING NEXT???

I am waiting....

Thank you and choose wisely!

PS: I cannot continue this dynasty until someone gives me a team to manage. So please choose quickly for me!

1914 Awards

As i take over the BKN Robins for the 1st year, my team gets some awards given out.
Enos Kirkpatrick and Rabbit Maranville each get a gold glove, while Smoky Joe Wood gets the NL Cy Young Award.
Nice to know that i am taking over a team with an awesome pitcher in the rotation.

1914 Off-season Trades

Checking out the talent i had on the Robins, I took a couple of trade offers.
Duffy Lewis and Joe Riggert i felt could give some help in the outfield.
So i took them from the CHW and the SLC.

1914 Draft

When i take over a new team, i automatically get the 1st pick in the upcoming draft to kind of give me a head start.
The BOS Braves and the BKN Robins switched places, as the Robins had the 3rd pick in the draft, and the Braves had the 1st.
I think we BOTH did pretty good.
What do you guys think about Rogers Hornsby?
The Braves drafted George Sisler.
I would have won either way.

I was able to pull a trade for Paul Fittery, a good young relief pitcher.
I should have a pretty good bullpen this year.

1915 Pre-season

The Predictions have us finishing in 6th place for my 1st year as manager of the BKN Robins.
Thats fine.
Having players on the team such as an aging Nap Lajoie, a very young and very raw Rogers Hornsby, and a pitcher named Smoky Joe, cant be all bad.
I was informed by the League Commissioner, (that's me also, BTW, if you guys didnt know by now), that the minor league teams are getting a little too full.
So after the 1915 season, there will be Minor League expansion to Double A!
Also, the CLE Naps decided that everyone got enough sleep on that team.
They needed a name change.
So after talking to a lot of fans in the Cleveland area and of course, in 1915, the words "politically correct" didnt exist yet, the fans believed that the name Indians should be brought back for the team's name.
So the Cleveland Indians were re-born as a show of respect to Native-Americans everywhere.
But now, its time to play ball back in the Empire State.
Looking forward to my new team and what they might be able to do.
So everyone...its YEAR ONE of Five.
Say hello to...

THE 1915 BROOKLYN ROBINS!!!

April 1915

New team, new season, and a new start that I am not really used to.
The BKN Robins get out of the gate 12-3, which put us on top of the NL, 3.5 games ahead of the PIT Pirates.
Couldn't have asked for a better opening to the 1915 season.
But as always, its not how you start, its how you finish.
Then, Smoky Joe Wood went down with an injury that will keep on the bench for two months.
OUCH!
Sometimes, OOTP hurts you when you are doing good, just to keep you honest.
But, oh well.
Farmer Ray got POTM, and even though Rogers Hornsby is opening the season batting .220, remember...he is young and raw.
I was told this kid was a future HOFamer.
We shall see.
