With the A's coming into town for a weekend series, they got a nice writeup in today's local newspaper. The headline was "A’s doing a lot with a little".

Boom.

What a battle of a game.

Jarrod Parker is better than Trevor Cahill, and we got Cook and Cowhill in that trade too.

Oooh, that was a nice inning. It'd been an extremely frustrating series up until this point. Probably for your guys too, in many ways.

Still three outs to get! :fingerscrossed:

Nah, hang in there. You've got a good team and they're still in the hunt. Let's see how they come back from this tomorrow.

Having no skin in this game, that was a hell of game to watch. Ibanez on Norris was good hard nosed baseball by both players.

I am rooting for the A's though. Having them in the playoffs would be excellent.

One of the most heartbreaking losses I've ever seen in all my years of watching this team and that's really saying something. I think that one goes up there with the loss to the Red Sox in the 2003 ALDS.

Yep. Really should have just skipped this one and read about it in the paper, but alas...

Game 5 of the 2003 ALDS against the Red Sox was on my birthday (and mirrf's!)! The A's have been so unkind to me but I keep coming back for more...

I could be smoking some wacky tabaccy but this could be a bass ackward wake up call for the A's. I guess it depends on the state of the teams psyche. They don't have much time to dwell on it. Seven games coming up against the Rangers is no picnic.

I don't think they even need a wakeup call. Josh Reddick left 9 runners on base yesterday. Nine! And he hit two smashing line drives right at guys. The baseball gods are just smiting the A's right now. I think they're playing their hearts out and stuff just isn't going their way.

My heart just about dropped on that A-Rod fly ball in the 9th. Yikes, another close, scary game!

If we survive the next week and a half, maybe we'll meet again.

Heh it was sad enough as an invested fan, but as a bday surprise?

My "sky is falling" comment was a bit overwrought and partially a fatigued reaction to watching the A's lose a five hour game that I was very close to skipping out on. I'm hoping your right and today's game was definitely a good start. I mean Texas is no piece of cake, they are Rookies, but they still have the lead.
