btw, I'm an idiot. I forgot I created a filter, under 'player search', for 22 year old players or younger, in another league. I didn't realize it carried over to this league. I removed it and all looks good. Last edited by edm; 08-17-2011 at 01:50 AM. |

I ran into an issue with the database and just wondering if anyone else has seen it.
I started a historical starting at 1961. League imported correctly, and the first ammy draft worked fine. But the 2nd draft had no players. And the 3rd draft has a lot of duplicate players. this is the asian database btw. thanks. |

ok. re imported my league, using 1961 again. but this time I changed the ammy draft to June 1st (let it at default before). this time it was ok for about 4 season. but on the 5th, I got all duplicate rookies again. anyone running the no_asians database without these issues? thanks

You can't change player-bases mid game, since many of the modified ones have different debut years for players.

I tried your regular spritze/gambo version and that seems to work without a problem so fan. It was just the no Asian version that kept giving me the issues. I will give it another try though. Thanks.

Spritze,
In your HS NoAsians DB can you check Johnny Evers' 1902 HR total? It looks like RL giving him 33. Looking up his numbers on BREF he hit 9 in about 330 AB in PSL and 0 in majors in 90 ish. Seems like a typo? Thanks and love the league. In 1917 season right now and having a blast. |

Adjusted
BUT keep in mind that Mr. Evers had 10 HR's in 333 AB's and the "above average" player in the New York State League in 1902 (only those who eventually made the majors BTW) had 4 in 629 AB's. So Johnny was 5 times more likely to go yard than his peers. He will get a 1902 power bump for that.

Importing Negro League Players
What is the best way to import negro league players as historical players? Specifically for the guys that never played in the majors and don't years or stats to import from?

The Gambo and Spritze db's include quite a few Negro League players and they do have stats associated with them.
Either view the master.csv to get a players ID and import them into your league or just use either of our databases.

First off, I want to offer up my thanks for all the hard work Gambo and Spritze put into these database thingies. Simply awesome. There's something about the Gambo-Spritze OOTP12 Master.csv (and I would assume the historical database.odb as well) that I've got to report though and I'm not sure if it's been reported in the 377 posts so far or not.
The issue happens when a player's college is listed as Miami, OH rather than Miami (OH) or Miami, FL rather than Miami (FL). The comma shifts everything to the right and messes up draft values, pitch ratings and fielding ratings. The first 20 players that I've seen affected so far are: Yonder Alonso, Mike Aviles, Brian Barton, Adam Bernero, Doug Bernier, Nick Blackburn, Zach Braddock, Clay Buchholz, Lorenzo Cain, Alberto Castillo (has played from 2008-present), Jesse Chavez, Steve Cishek, Robert Coello, Phil Coke, Callix Crabbe, Bobby Cramer, Aaron Cunningham, Chris Davis, Matt DeSalvo, and Tim Dillard. Will post more as I find them. Again thank you, thank you, thank you to Gambo and Spritze for everything they do around here. My intention is not to slight these tremendously valuable works of art. My intention is to contribute to make it/them even better. ![]() Last edited by actionjackson; 10-20-2011 at 03:57 PM. |

Here are the next 20: German Duran, Mike Ekstrom, John Ely, Jesus Feliciano, Mat Gamel, Carlos Guevara, Chris Heisey, Fernando Hernandez, Rhyne Hughes, Jon Jay, Craig Kimbrel, Ryan Kohlmeier, George Kottaras, Erik Kratz, Bryan LaHair, Jon Link, Evan MacLane, Scott Maine, Jeffrey Marquez, and Osvaldo Martinez.
I'll admit to not knowing most of these guys, but all of them are listed as A-MAJ (played in MLB) players in the Gambo-Spritze for OOTP 12, so I'm passing it along to Gambo/Spritze to do with as they see fit. I'm fixing up my own as I go along, but others may not feel comfortable doing so, and there are complications as the historical database.odb overwrites any changes made to the Master.csv file (I get around this by not using it, but that may not be possible for others as the Master.csv file can take a long time to load and may even crash depending on processor speed). Like I said, I love this database, but I love to tinker, even with databases that have tinkered with the original default and neutralized databases. ![]() |

I think it happened to the master file when you opened it (my guess is that you are using MS-Excel to view). They show up for me (using Open Office Calc) in the Column AD without issue ,as: Miami (FL) Miami (FL) Dade North CC Miami, FL Miami, OH
