Sosa only had two fights at MW with one being against Toney for a minor middleweight title (Toney SD) I remember watching the fight on ESPN on a Sunday night I think. I used his SMW rating against Toney's MW rating and Toney won about 60% of the bouts.

yeah it's great getting these guys so quick! The WW division in real & in TB has some interesting fights ahead with guys like: Alexander, Bradley, Brook, Malignaggi, Guerrero, Bailey & Thurman - also the new Argentine WBA champ - Chaves. Maidana too!

Thank you, IceTea, for starting to tackle PWillisTheMan's lists. I too, have thought a lot about fighters in their other weight classes that are not in the database (for example, Fenech @ BW, Bojado @ JWW, Gamache @ LW, Kid Chocolate and Saddler @ JLW, Camacho @ LW, Randall and Pryor @ LW, Mel Taylor @ WW, etc, etc). For the most part, Ive used (and enjoyed) John Dewey's tremendous ratings for fighter weights not in database. I do enjoy your interpretations of the same ratings, though. Thanks, again and I look forward to the progress.

I was tracking a bug where I am getting a nation called "3" when starting a new game. It seems that its due to a test field in the Cornerman table:

testmann test

Can someone look into this and delete or update this record as appropriate please?

When you first fire up the game there is a button on the lower left to update data pool. If you want to update any of the universes you have going there is an update button that you would need to do in your universe afterwards as well.

The only thing you have to be careful of is if you make some changes to fighters yourslef they will all be wiped away when you update the data pool. That's just on existing fighters, if you create some yourself or input fighters outside of the data pool they will stay the same.

I have a few data bases.
Women's Boxing only I use this one for rating/updating female boxers I never update this one. Since I'm the only one rating the females, I don't have to update it.
All Boxers This is the one that I update and use to adjust/rate male boxers for the data base.
Universe (women) data base. I don't update this one either.

Here is a post by Bear, that kind of got me started on updating databases.

The database team is updated quite often, if not daily.

You can follow the updates at the Changelist

You can update any individual game or universe that you have created at any time you want. I update and save at least once a week if not more frequently.

Updating is a two step process. When you start the game it opens with a screen that has 7 options. "Continue game (whatever you named your game)", "load saved game", "create boxing universe" ,"options", "update data pool", "delete saved game", "import from TB2"
Click on "update data pool" for step one.

A screen will pop up telling you that you have have imported a specific number of files Click ok and you are ready for step two.

"continue game" or "load saved game" ill allow you to select which universe or game that you have created that you wish to update. Make your selection and wait for the game to load.

Once the game you want to update has loaded you'll see a menu screen with 18 options. The option in the lower right corner is the one you want to select at this point "Update from pool". After clicking on this a menu will appear that will allow you update all or to "cherry pick" your updates by weight classes of by the sex of the boxers. Click on your choice and wait for the updates to load. Over 8,000 fighter files, 8,000 rating files, and biography files are checked. This will take everal minutes. When the process is complete a pop up will appear telling you how many of each of these files types have been updated. Click ok to remove the pop up and then click the save button so that you preserve the updates you just added.

That's how the database updates work. One of the forum members Ice Tea is doing the lion's share of the official updates. Some forum members: John Dewey, professor dp, djday45, and me, have posted our own fighter files in the MODS section of the forums. If you find a thread that we've started in the MODS, you will likely find fighter files in it. Although not officially part of the data base, these files can be uploaded and added to your game if you choose to do so. If you explore the mods section you'll also find fighter files created by forum members for earlier versions of the game.

There is a box on the fighter page that says "link with data pool". You can unclick that if you don't want the fighter to be updated from the changelist.
