They showed that fact during the game Friday, shortly after he hit his second homerun.

Interesting. Hopefully he ends up with more than 38 though

Wow. I have never seen four consecutive home runs. I don't even recall ever hearing about that happening.

Sorry, guy. Just because I had to go looking does not mean you have to, so don't look at this:

It was a weekend . . . in Hell.

I'm not looking at the Red Sox thread, and they can't make me. Nope, nope, nope.

It's only 3 games out of 162 and you'll get your starting pitchers back soon enough (30th April will do us fine )

NYY were hard done by, their pythagorean expectation (using the 1.82 coefficient) was 0.41 - they should have lost the series 2-1.

I got to see tidbits of the games this weekend. I watch the Yanks blow the lead on Friday AND Sunday (turned it on right before the 4 HRs). Bullpen was a strength, but they are already being overused thanks to the dismal SPs. With Wang on his way back Tuesday, we have some hope on the horizon at least.

As a Red Sox fan, I have to say I am pleased with the outcome of the weekend. However, everyone knows that one series means nothing and that history has shown that the the Yankees rule the AL East after the all-star break.

If I were a Yankees fan, I would be heartened to know that my team was in each game over the weekend despite the plethora of injuries.

I think this is going to be a great battle as usual over the course of the season

Yeah, but they were lucky it was that close.

~Series batting line:

Yankees: 0.268/0.333/0.407
Red Sox: 0.362/0.455/0.627

Good thing ya'll got rid of Randy Johnson.

Though, I realize he wouldn't have helped up to now.

I'm happy with the deal. It made us weaker now, but hopefully stronger in the long run.

Yeah, the outcome stinks, but they were able to light up Dice-K & Schilling pretty well.

The Yankees will be doing that to good pitchers all year long. I dunno who's lineup I'd want more, NY or CLE, but they are both scary.

Robinson Cano seems to be showing some patience at the plate. That would make it a lot easier for him to continue to be a great hitter.

Yeah, higher OBP numbers from Cano would make him an incredible hitter and not just another Soriano.

Am I reading this crazy schedule right? After a night game (a late one, to suit ESPN), the Yankees fly from Boston to Tampa for a two game series (not that I don't welcome it for other reasons) and then back to New York, a total of 2,185 miles or so, for another two game series with Toronto? Then the dreaded ("Hey, can A-Rod hit four HR's in one inning like we did?") Red Sox for another weekend series? Is there a rainout make-up day or two in there?

Joe Sheehan addressed this topic in a column last week. Basically, MLB is trying to squeeze too many opponents into the schedule. Clubs used to play only 13 opponents, and now MLB is trying to jam 18-20 team onto the schedule, and it leads to some screwy ****.

Well, the golden boy himself is coming up! Hughes is making his major league debut on Thursday, and Chase Wright has been sent back to the farm.
