Can anyone provide any information on the close-up image of Spencer in the next post, I have it dated from 1915 so presumably he is playing for the Tigers? Last edited by UKBaseballfan; 02-08-2026 at 04:26 PM. |

Joe Weber 1884 MISSING PLAYER
I found Weber pictured in the 2/4/1893 edition of the Toronto Globe and Mail. The photograph was celebrating the 1892 amateur championship of the London Alerts, a team Weber was a member of. He briefly appeared in the major leagues on the 1884 Detroit Wolverines.

This still gives me hope that we will one day find a picture of my latest fascination obsession Jim McElroy. I tried searching with slightly different keywords such as "James McElroy" "Jas." and "MacElroy" since sometimes the papers slightly misspell or list the full name but haven't had any luck.
I have a good feeling that our guys will find many more missing players this year and I'm definitely excited to see.

John Kelty 1890
I hadn't seen this image before. Kelty was an outfielder on one of the worst teams ever fielded, the 1890 Pittsburghs. He was a very young player for them and is pictured here as a member of the 1888 Worcester team. This comes courtesy of the 9/1/1908 edition of The Jersey Journal. Baseball Reference indicates it is unknown which way he batted so this photo solves that issue.
