I don't plan on adding myself.

Mostly because I doubt I will see it. I'd be 18 in 2001. We have 49 years before then, which is about 2 years (we sim roughly a year a month). Sorry guys, but I'm thinking realistically.

Exactly. If yourself or your dad debuts in a year w/ few ancestors, you'll be a top 3 talent anyway. Recently, we've had 12-15 per year, so someone has to get watered down. Seems only right for people w/ the fewest ancestors who've already debuted to get 1st crack at a top prospect at that point.

WEB PAGES UPDATED... INCLUDING PLAYER PAGES

May 1952

Detoit and Boston remain neck-and-neck in the AL. The Tigers went 19-7 and the Red Sox went 19-8. Boston pulled off another big trade in the process, shipping last season's AL RBI leader Bobby Johnson and 3B Emerson Meggs to the Cubs in return for 3B Ben Lutske and outfielder Will Groaning. The A's went 16-13 and slid 5 games back. The Indians went 6-21 this month to fall 19 games back and cap off a disappointing start to a promising season.

The Cubs moved a half-game ahead of St. Louis for 2nd place but only after going 15-12 this month. The Giants went 16-12 and moved 2.5 games ahead of Chicago.

In The News

May 15: The Red Sox beat the Senators 5–4 in Fenway though odd occurrences interrupted the game. In the bottom of the first, two fraternity boys dressed in baseball uniforms ran onto the field and started throwing a rubber ball around. Two innings later a one-legged man on crutches jumped onto the field to talk to Boston SS Morris Lutske and P Matty Jackson. He then shook hands with Washington base runner Bill Hall before being hurried off the field. After allowing 2 walks in the 1st inning, Washington's Joe Homic did not allow another baserunner until the 7th inning, when Boston scored their first run off back-to-back doubles. Now down 4-1, Boston scored another run in the 8th, and then they scored 3 runs off reliever Cecil Frye in the 9th to win the game.

May 14: Despite eight interruptions by Reds manager Ron Bennarivo asking the umps to examine the ball, Boston's Glenn Howell tossed 8 1/3 scoreless innings. After the last play stoppage, an angry Howell heaved the ball over the umps head, but manager Marcus Fortson calmed the sizzling pitcher down. The game remained scoreless when Howell left the game in the 9th. Then Cincinnati scored the first run in the top of the 12th when SS Dennis Ward hit a sac fly to score pinch runner George Maringo from 3rd. Cincinnati's Robert Datoli came in to pitch the bottom of the 12th, but he loaded the bases. With two outs, Braves 1B Ken Chaucer hit a game-winning 2-run single.

May 22: The Celler committee found legislation for government control of baseball to be unnecessary. It said that the sport can solve its own problems, and opposed legislation exempting the reserve clause from antitrust laws

May 20: Red Sox SS Morris Lutske and Yankees OF Jesse Baker exchanged insults before a game in Boston, then exchanged punches in the tunnel under the stands. It took two coaches and pitcher Billy Hyberg to break the fight up. Lutske went to the clubhouse to change his bloody shirt and got into another brawl with teammate Darrell Thomas. He sat out of the starting lineup, giving the start to Sean Lee. The Red Sox scored 2 runs in the 8th to win 4-3.

This pretty much describes the Reds season to a tee

The Allen's have declared they are dedicating the rest of the season to the memory of Tequila. It seems to be working as most are having good years

Champagne started year in A ball and hit 370 now in AA at 280
Cognac 313 in 24 games with 8 starts OPS 1.059 3 HR 13 RBI, he is demanding more playing time or wants to be traded to a team that will use his talents and make him a regular

Gin started in AA hit 340 now 287 in AAA, can the bigs be far away?

JD (Whiskey III) deserves another shot in the bigs 8-2 3.26 ERA in AAA, come on Brooklyn give him another shot!!!

Scotch (who was hit hardest by Uncle Tequila's death) started in a hitting 264 only 222 so far in AAA

Vodka 9 HR only 189 in A ball so far

Bourbon JR 6-4 3.32 with almost 70% of starts quality ones

Ouzo (who now at least has learned to swear in English) .250 in AA

Don't we sim a year every 3 weeks? It doesn't matter how long it takes. I'm in for the duration. I can't even imagine losing interest. If I get time constraints, all my other leagues will go before this one.

Marcus Fortson is our manager. Dietzsch manages the Red Sox. Wrong Boston!

Matt, what are you doing to Morris? He became a fighter and thug all the sudden? Gah, no. Morris is the quiet, scholarly type. He's like a Stan Musial in personality type. Don't turn him into...this.

Come on Matt, don't you think what you are doing to Morris Lutske is a little unfair. I mean publicizing such a brutal act of violence. Think about the children. Morris has a young child at home, Harvey, who is very impressionable. You don't want Harvey growing up to be a Milton Bradley, or do you?

HEHE

By the way, Mike Kreitenberg's coaches are suggesting to bring him up to AAA.

Yea, I noticed that Mike's current contact rating is up a notch. He's hitting about .286 in AA at the moment. I'll be looking at promoting soon if he can get that average back up around .300.

I'm very solid at 2B & SS on my active roster at the moment and the backups don't get a lot of at bats. But Mike may force me to make some moves if he keeps up this progress.

I'm not used to my prospects improving so rapidly, so he's been a pleasant surprise.

Ya I could see Mike Kreitenberg being called up early being a problem for the same reason. I mean look at your current 2B Matt Perly and your SS David Castaneda they are both solid. Anyways it only says that Mike "Could play in AAA" and not that he should be in AAA. May as well give him more seasoning. It definitely couldn't hurt keeping him in the minors looking at the Tigers W/L record.
