Problem with having too many favorites is sometimes they're pitted against each other, such as Dwellers vs Gunners here.... I'm going to have to find some more reasons to be annoyed at teams soon haha.

Also another thing I picked up from Fallout 3 today, the DC team before the War was apparently called the Congressmen (not the Senators or Nationals), according to one of President Eden's speeches, in case you'd forgotten about that as well. I know I had too.

I don't remember that, but I can edit my history of the MLB up to 2077 based on it.

Game 2: County Crossing 11, Nordhagen Beach 8

Rooth Blasts Party Boys, Bloodbugs Take Game 2, 11-8

With right fielder Babs Rooth leading the charge, the County Crossing Bloodbugs got a road win over the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, 11-8, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round today. Rooth went 4-5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium to help County Crossing force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

County Crossing relied on the hitting of Jimjames LaFleur to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Bloodbugs on top, 5-0. For the game, LaFleur had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I like our moxie," said Bloodbugs manager Crow Guai.

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing.

Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 10, County Crossing 5

Bloodbugs Hammered by Goodman, Drop Game 3 to Party Boys

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Murtagh.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing.

Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 6, County Crossing 5

Party Boys Advance to Association Championship Series

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys didn't hold back their excitement after beating the County Crossing Bloodbugs in the Association Semifinal Round tonight.

Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 6-5 win moving the club on to the Association Championship Series, clinching a 3-1 series win in front of the Beantown Brewery Stadium crowd.

"This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a Sole Survivor Series, so it's an important step," said Jonathan Angelou as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on."

Angelou was named series MVP, as he hit .412 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 5 runs.

On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Bloodbugs sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Nordhagen Beach celebrate.

The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.

#6 Starlight Killers vs #2 Bunker Hill 75ers

Game 1: Starlight 3, Bunker Hill 2

Killers Edge 75ers 3-2 to Open ASF

The Starlight Killers powered past the hometown Bunker Hill 75ers, 3-2, in the opener of the Association Semifinal Round at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium today. Starlight starting pitcher Digger Vadim threw 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Killers now lead the series 1-0.

Starlight used a well-timed hit by Hurr Lee Reyes to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put the Killers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I really like what we did out there today," Reyes said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston.

Game 2: Bunker Hill 6, Starlight 3

Raucous Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium Crowd Propels 75ers to 6-3 Victory; Series Tied at 1

The Bunker Hill 75ers topped the Starlight Killers by the score of 6-3 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Association Semifinal Round today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Bunker Hill starter Max Thunderdome, who threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 runs in the win.

In the bottom of the first, Bunker Hill shortstop Aaron Squire had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Squire stroked a 3-run home run to right. It made the score 3-0, Bunker Hill. For the game, he was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Squire.

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Valentine Detective Agency Field in Lexington.

Game 3: Starlight 10, Bunker Hill 5

Shorthop Blasts 75ers, Killers Take Game 3, 10-5

Shorthop was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 against the 75ers. In the bottom of the first inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put Starlight in front, 1-0.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Shorthop.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Valentine Detective Agency Field in Lexington.

Game 4: Starlight 5, Bunker Hill 1

Killers Win Association Semifinal Round

The Starlight Killers are one step closer to winning a Sole Survivor Series, and the season came to a close for the Bunker Hill 75ers.

Starlight won the Association Semifinal Round 3-1, with a 5-1 victory in the deciding game at Valentine Detective Agency Field today.

Starlight second baseman Looter Knol was named the MVP of the series, after hitting .400 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 1 homers, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.

"I just hope I can keep it up in the Association Championship Series," he said.

The Starlight Killers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys - County Crossing Bloodbugs series. Nordhagen Beach leads the series 2 games to 1. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.

#4 Oberland T-51s vs #1 Roxbury Rad Sox

Game 1: Roxbury 6, Oberland 2

Rad Sox center fielder Ben Pawlak was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Pawlak, who led the SCA in doubles with 43 in 2306, hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Rad Sox into the lead, 4-2.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Roxbury manager Bryan Pingree said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.

Game 2: Oberland 9, Roxbury 5

Oberland Win to Pull Even With Roxbury

In a crucial game, the Oberland T-51s put on their best show, beating the Roxbury Rad Sox by a final score of 9-5 today. Zaire Inquisitor went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Oberland and Roxbury are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-5 affair.

Inquisitor had a clutch at-bat in the top of the ninth for the T-51s. Coming up with runners on 1st and 3rd and Oberland trailing 5-4, he hit a 3-run home run.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Inquisitor.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Oberland Stadium in Oberland.

Game 3: Oberland 8, Roxbury 7

Oberland Overcomes 2 HRs from Mour, Tops Roxbury in Extras for 2-1 Series Lead

When the games really matter, the Oberland T-51s put on their best show, beating the Roxbury Rad Sox by a final score of 8-7 today. Ayag Mour went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Oberland now leads Roxbury 2-1 in the best-of-5 affair.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Oberland first baseman Chase Doctorman, facing Igor Kelp, had a run-scoring single. It gave the T-51s the 8-7 win.

"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Doctorman said in postgame remarks.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Oberland Stadium in Oberland.

Game 4: Oberland 1, Roxbury 0

T-51s Heading to Association Championship Series

The Oberland T-51s said they felt the Association Semifinal Round with the Roxbury Rad Sox would go the distance.

But it didn't end up being that difficult, as Oberland advanced to the Association Championship Series with a 1-0 score, to clinch the series 3-1 at Oberland Stadium.

"Whether it goes to the final game or not, we faced a good team and got the job done. It's a big momentum boost for us," said Orcin Cardinal, who was named series MVP. "We're all feeling good about our chances to win the Sole Survivor Series."

For the series, Cardinal hit .500 with a .526 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The Oberland T-51s don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Vault 81 Dwellers - Quincy Gunners series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.

#3 Vault 81 Dwellers vs #2 Quincy Gunners

Game 1: Quincy 8, Vault 81 7

Home Field Advantage: Fischler, Quincy Open Association Semifinal Round with Win

The Quincy Gunners started the Association Semifinal Round in style today, downing the visiting Vault 81 Dwellers at The Stone House by a score of 8-7 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Gunners right fielder Baywatch Fischler was 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 8 RBI and scoring twice.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Fischler delivered big-time for Quincy, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Ryan Goodpryce. The game-changing hit put the Gunners on top, 8-6.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Fischler told the Quincy Gazette. "It's as simple as that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Stone House in Quincy.

Game 2: Vault 81 7, Quincy 1

Byrd, Dwellers Wallop Gunners in Game 2 of ASF

With second baseman Harry Byrd leading the charge, the Vault 81 Dwellers got a road win over the Quincy Gunners, 7-1, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round today. Byrd went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times at The Stone House to help Vault 81 force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

Stu Gains, the six-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Gains contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put Vault 81 up, 6-0.

Gains attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, September 7th , 2310 at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston.

Game 3: Vault 81 3, Quincy 1

Vault 81 Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in ASF

The Vault 81 Dwellers moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series today, downing the visiting Quincy Gunners at CURIE Inc. Field by a score of 3-1. Dwellers right-hander Closecall Jones had a strong outing in which he threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Dwellers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round.

In the bottom of the seventh, Vault 81 left fielder Devin Ghoul hit a 2-run single to center field. The clutch hit made it, 3-1, Dwellers.

"We had a good game plan," Jones said, "and we were able to execute it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston.

Game 4: Quincy 4, Vault 81 3

Gunners Clip Dwellers 4-3 in ASF Contest

The Quincy Gunners and the Vault 81 Dwellers will take the Association Semifinal Round to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Gunners beat the Dwellers 4-3 at CURIE Inc. Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Quincy right fielder Baywatch Fischler was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs.

The outcome might have been different had it not been for Fischler. In the top of the ninth inning, when the Gunners were trailing 3-2, Fischler delivered a two-out 2-run single for Quincy, giving his team the lead. Had he not hit the go-ahead hit, the Gunners would have been finished.

Fischler called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 10th , 2310 at The Stone House in Quincy.

Game 5: Quincy 5, Vault 81 3

Gunners Move on to Association Championship Series

Quincy won the final game by a score of 5-3 at The Stone House to send themselves off to the Association Championship Series.

"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said right fielder Fischler, who was named MVP.

For the series, the MVP hit .474 with a .545 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 11 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Quincy Gunners will play against the Oberland T-51s in the next round. Oberland won their series against the Roxbury Rad Sox 3 games to 1. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.

2310 CBO Playoffs

BNN Report

News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

11 September 2310

Championship Series

#6 Starlight Killers (74-56) vs #1 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (88-42)

Season Series

Starlight 3, Nordhagen Beach 1
April 21-22 @NB: Star 7-5 (13), NB 2-1
July 2-3 @Star: Star 9-2, Star 9-7

Analysis

For the second time in their history, the Starlight Killers have reached the NCA Championship Series. Now in their eighth playoff appearance, the Killers had won a series once ever in the playoffs. That was in 2308 when the Killers beat Nordhagen Beach and then upset #1 Salem before falling in the NCACS to Bunker Hill.

The Party Boys are so used to getting here that it has become an expectation. This will mark the Boys' ninth appearance in the NCACS. They are 5-3 entering this season in that series including last season when they swept the 75ers on their way to their third championship.

For this matchup, it will mark only the third time they meet in the regular season and latest they have met. Each team has won a series.

Playoff History:
2306 Play-in Round: #5 Nordhagen Beach 2, #4 Starlight 0
2308 Play-in Round: #5 Starlight 2, #4 Nordhagen Beach 0

In the regular season, Starlight owned the series 3-1, including pounding the Boys' pitching for nine runs in two games in their last meeting in early July. Looking at the matchups, the Killers are one of the few teams that has a lineup that can regularly score on the Nordhagen Beach pitching. Still, the Party Boys have the better overall team, besting Starlight in runs scored (755 vs 625) and runs allowed (499 vs 526). There is no doubt that the Boys are the team to beat.

Prediction

Defending champions, playing a veteran team but not one used to being this successful in the playoffs, fully healthy, dominating in the Semifinal Round. Yeah, we're going to pick Nordhagen Beach to push its full influence on Starlight in this one. We would like to see an exciting, close series, but we do not expect it. Party Boys 4, Killers 1

#4 Oberland T-51s (78-52) vs #2 Quincy Gunners (77-53)

Season Series

Oberland 3, Quincy 1
April 21-21 @Obe: Obe 3-2 (12), Ober 2-1
July 2-3 @Quin: Obe 9-1, Quin 9-5

Analysis

Neither Oberland nor Quincy has been regulars to the playoffs, so this season will mark only the second time in the full CBO they have both been in the playoffs the same season. The first season was 2309 when neither the #1 T-51s nor the #3 Gunners made it to the SCA Championship Series.

Oberland has had more overall success than the Gunners. The T-51s won the Sole Survivor Series in the last season of the separated leagues when they defeated Nordhagen Beach. They also lost to Bunker Hill in the 2308 Sole Survivor Series. This season marks the T-51s' third SCACS, where they are 1-1 entering this season. They lost the 2298 SCACS to Goodneighbor, 3-2.

For Quincy, this marks just their third playoff appearance. In their first two appearances, they lost their first series. Therefore, the Gunners' 3-2 series victory over Vault 81 in the Semifinal Round marks their first official playoff series win.

Playoff History: none

We mentioned already that Oberland was not a team to sleep on despite finishing 3rd in the powerful Railroad League. The T-51s showed that by getting by a very good Roxbury team in the Semifinal Round. During the regular season, Oberland also won the season series over Quincy, 3-1. In what is eerily similar to the Nordhagen Beach vs Starlight series, the T-51s showed they could score at will on the Gunners. Oberland finished behind the Gunners in runs scored (667 vs 686) but bested them in runs allowed (532 vs 592).

Prediction

Quincy has home-field advantage but they have a hell of a gauntlet to get through having to play Vault 81 and Oberland back-to-back. While the Gunners won the Minutemen League, we do not see them winning the South Charles Association. We have a feeling the T-51s pitching will hold down Quincy. T-51s 4, Gunners 2

Well both my picks lost their first possible round. Thing is I almost wanted to pick the Party Boys but I feel like too often I pick the higher seeds. They have a ton of star power, but Starlight seems like a team that underperformed record wise. My not-so-best bet is that the winner on that side wins the Sole Survivor Series. But I want some game sevens! Only one of the best of fives needed the final game

In each of the first two rounds, only one series went the distance. Let's see if it can be competitive in the Championship Series and Sole Survivor Series!

President Eden either confirms a team stayed in Baltimore or thinks a team in Baltimore is a good idea too, haha, saying the Congressmen "could once again play teams from Maryland, and Pennsylvania". Virginia is suspiciously not mentioned (as it wouldn't be, if the teams were in the same place to be fair).

Honestly, President Eden is just like, one of my Top 3 favorite Fallout characters, so any excuse to talk about him haha.

-

As for these latest results, a bit surprised, but tbh I think any of the teams had a shot, so I'm not 'shocked' per se. Maybe shocked that both were 3-1.

2310 Sole Survivor Series

BNN Report

News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

20 September 2310

Sole Survivor Series

Sole Survivor Series History

NCA #1 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (88-42) vs SCA #4 Oberland T-51s (78-52)

Season Series

Oberland 2, Nordhagen Beach 1
July 15-17 @NB: Obe 5-0, NB 7-4, Obe 8-6

Analysis

Counting the pre-CBO league, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys and Oberland T-51s have combined to reach 10 Sole Survivor Series. They did meet once in the playoffs, in 2297, when the T-51s as the #1 overall seed defeated the #6 Party Boys, 4-2.

This season, those roles have reversed as the Boys seek their second-straight Sole Survivor Series and fourth overall. The two teams missed playing each other in the SSS in 2308 when Bunker Hill was the surprise winner, stopping the T-51s. Nordhagen Beach sandwiched those that Sole Survivor Series with championships in 2307 and 2309.

Looking at team stats, the Party Boys look to have considerable advantages, including blowing away the previous NCA runs scored record (715 by County Crossing in 2305) with 755 runs scored. Not only did the Boys score a lot of runs, but they held opponents to just 3.84 runs per game. Oberland was not far behind with 4.09 runs per game allowed. But the T-51s offense is nowhere near as efficient as the Party Boys are.

Here's a look at the main matchups and how each team stacks up per position with Nordhagen Beach's player listed first and then Oberland's:

SP1: Beachboy Nut > Emperry Alizm
SP2: Deedee Martinson < Mesquite Williams
SP3: Ugio Church > Zaire Inquisitor
RP1: David "AntAgonist" Kidd < William Butcherman
RP2: Tommy Beach < Aaron Geneva
C: Biter Trout < Racky Westheim
1B: Mountainside Rockhand < Chase Doctorman
2B: Jumper Hayes < Da Game
3B: Dirty Dog Sapienza > Joe Malone
SS: Pipe Wallcrawler < Storming Normin MacDonald
LF: Young Goodman > Wayne Lacy
CF: Maxx Murtagh > Good Don Duck
RF: Jonathan Angelou < Orcin Cardinal

Prediction

We are pretty sure that Oberland is capable of winning the Sole Survivor Series. However, they are facing off the defending champions, where Nordhagen Beach swept their way through the 2309 playoffs. The Boys are not as dominant in the playoffs as they were a year ago, but that does not mean they intimidate opposing teams. We are leaning that this one will not go the distance with the Boys becoming the first repeat champions since Roxbury did it in 2303 and 2304. Party Boys 4, T-51s 2

Sole Survivor Series

NCA #1 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (88-42) vs SCA #4 Oberland T-51s (78-52)

Game 1: Oberland 5, Nordhagen Beach 3

Cardinal Blasts Party Boys, T-51s Take Game 1, 5-3

The Oberland T-51s started the Sole Survivor Series in style today, winning on the road against the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium by a score of 5-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. T-51s right fielder Orcin Cardinal excelled. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice.

Oberland used the bat of Judge Sharp to capture the win. The first baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the T-51s ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Cardinal.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.

Game 2: Nordhagen Beach 7, Oberland 4

Raucous Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium Crowd Propels Party Boys to 7-4 Victory; Series Tied at 1

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys defeated the Oberland T-51s, 7-4 in Game 2 of the Sole Survivor Series today. Making an impact was left fielder Young Goodman, who went 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win moves Nordhagen Beach into a 1-1 tie with Oberland in the series.

Goodman contributed in the bottom of the fifth. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Nordhagen Beach get the win.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Goodman said.

The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 23rd , 2310 at Oberland Stadium in Oberland.

Sole Survivor Series

NCA #1 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (88-42) vs SCA #4 Oberland T-51s (78-52)

[U]Game 3: Oberland 8, Nordhagen Beach 7

Oberland Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in SSS

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys got 2 home runs from first baseman Mountainside Rockhand today but failed to take Game 3 of the Sole Survivor Series from the Oberland T-51s. In a nice performance, Rockhand hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice but Oberland took the game by a score of 8-7 and now lead the best-of-7 series, 2-1.

Had Racky Westheim not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Westheim hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the T-51s.

"We haven't forgotten how long this series might be, but 2-1 is a heck of a lot better than 1-2," Westheim said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Oberland Stadium in Oberland.

Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 7, Oberland 4

Nordhagen Beach Win Knots Series at 2
The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys topped the Oberland T-51s by the score of 6-4 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the Sole Survivor Series today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Nordhagen Beach starter Beachboy Nut, who threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball in the win.

The Party Boys had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 6-4, Nordhagen Beach, with no one out. Oberland, with the bases empty, was mounting a threat. Chase Doctorman dug in at the plate, but on a first pitch fastball, he lined out.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Oberland Stadium in Oberland.

Game 5: Nordhagen Beach 7, Oberland 4

Road Win Lifts Nordhagen Beach to 3-2 Lead in SSS

In a pivotal Game 5, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys were hoping for a big game from starter Deedee Martinson. They got one.

The right-hander shut out the Oberland T-51s, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 2-0 victory. The Party Boys took the 2-0 win over the Oberland T-51s to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Nordhagen Beach used a well-timed hit by Pipe Wallcrawler to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Party Boys ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Wallcrawler.

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.

Sole Survivor Series

NCA #1 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (88-42) vs SCA #4 Oberland T-51s (78-52)

Game 6: Nordhagen Beach 8, Oberland 1

It's Over! Nordhagen Beach Defeats Oberland

Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better.

It was the latter case in 2310, as the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys topped the Oberland T-51s 8-1 tonight at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium to win the Sole Survivor Series. It was the 4th title in franchise history and 2nd straight.

Boys starter Ugio Church held down the Oberland bats, pitching a complete game while allowing one earned run on four hits with a walk and six strikeouts. Orcin Cardinal's solo homer in the 7th marked the only run given up by Church.

Church also helped his own cause with the bat, leading the Party Boys by going 3 for 4 with a run and two RBI. Jonathan Angelou homered twice from the leadoff spot and Mountainside Rockhand hit a two-run bomb in the 6th.

"When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said Nordhagen Beach first baseman Mountainside Rockhand, who was named series MVP.

The Party Boys took the series 4-2. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the North Charles Association Brotherhood League and a 88-42 record.

Nordhagen Beach manager Zach Toth grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Rockhand's words.

"Mountainside said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said.

Hometown officials announced they were already planning a "grand celebration" for the winners in the days to come.

NL Reliever - At the age of 20, Knox Overstreet says he still has a lot to learn about life in Greater Boston Rookie League.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Parsons Asylum Greasers reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2310 North League Clutch Arm Award.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the
Burlington, Vermont native said.

For the season, Overstreet had 2 saves in 43 relief appearances, which totaled 64. He fanned 58 betters, while walking 7 and put up a record of 3-1 to go with his 1.69 ERA.

He received 28 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Skald Elder of the Satellite Array Riflemen finished second in voting, while Sauce Cigaretteman of the Union Hope Lifegivers finished third.

Player - Team - First Place - Total Points
Knox Overstreet - Parsons Asylum Greasers - 28 - 140

SL Reliever - At the young age of only 18, Uzi Perez has been named the South League Clutch Arm Award winner for 2310.

The future appears bright for the Eastlake Aquaboys relief ace, who captured the award with 1 save in 30 relief appearances, 55 strikeouts in 55.1 innings and a record of 4-2 to go with his 2.44 ERA.

He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 28. Conrad Verner of the Greater Mass Vans finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Flip Marino of the Cabot House Triggermen finished third.

Party Boys do it again! Their 4 titles has to be the most so far, right?

That's right. Tied for second with two apiece are Diamond City, Roxbury, and University Point.

The one-time winners are Bunker Hill, County Crossing, Goodneighbor, Oberland, and The Slog.

Nice! I thought a few teams have repeated but I couldn't remember anyone else having more then two. Part of me wants them to win five next year, but I want the Rad Sox to get their third. Is Ayag Mour locked up for next year or will he be looking for another team?

I suppose the Boys will always be a fan favorite, so good for the fans. It actually slipped my mind Goodneighbor actually won one year, given how they've also been on the opposite end of the spectrum. Indeed, other than Bunker Hill (who are new-ish), a lot of the one-timers have had quite the ups and downs. Seems like you need at least two to cement yourself a Commonwealth royalty.

As far as I can see, Roxbury looks to be riding with Mour. He will be 34 next season, so they will need to find his replacement at some point. However, their next best catcher is 23-year-old Beercan Sherer, but he may never be anything but a backup catcher.

One big surprise move so far this offseason was Easy Town trading away 1B/SP Lannie Tykeson to Quincy for four prospects, including a good one in 3B Keg Gutterson who will probably start at 1B next season in place of Tykeson.

Fort Hagen was once pretty good at reaching the Sole Survivor Series, too. They just could not get past the Swatters (twice) nor Roxbury.

But you know how I feel. I would love to see different teams in the SSS. I was rooting for Starlight vs Quincy when those two teams made their association championship series.

On the whole, I'm fine with a mix, as long as whoever's the top dog isn't always on top for too much during the same time period. Winners and losers are fine, to an extent. Right now, your dynasty is about hitting my ideal zone (especially after being reminded of those numbers). Where I draw the line is usually three-peats, or three out of four situations.

At least it isn't like my projecting real MLB save, where from 2020-2035 Dodgers won 10 of 15 WS. Even I admit that is a bridge too far.

NCA Manager - Nordhagen Beach manager Zach Toth was selected as the 2310 North Charles Association Manager of the Year today.

He was somewhat of a dark horse next to some of the more flashy managers up for the award. Toth, who prefers that everyone call him "Cap" or "Skip," tries to shy away from the limelight in a media-driven world.

"It's really unfair to the guys that busted their humps all year long to put all the focus on me now. They showed up early, put in extra time in the cage, worked on their fielding, consulted with our coaching staff and really made 2310 a highlight in my career."

In fairness to this year's Manager of the Year, Toth certainly played an important part in the Party Boys success as he guided them to a first place finish in the North Charles Association Brotherhood League and a 88-42 record.

SCA Manager - Drac Jaskula, skipper of the Vault 81 Dwellers, was voted 2310 South Charles Association Manager of the Year and accepted the award earlier today.

He guided Vault 81 to second place in the South Charles Association Railroad League with a 83-47 record.

"I'm very happy about this," he said at the press conference. "But I'm more happy about what my boys did on the field. They battled their butts off for me all year. They should get the credit."

NCA Rookie - Nordhagen Beach first baseman Mountainside Rockhand set the tone for rookies across the North Charles Association in 2310 and today was tabbed for the league's Red Rocket Rookie Award.

He hit .322 in 118 games while collecting 148 hits, 32 home runs, 92 RBIs and scoring 83 runs.

He received 25 first place votes out of a possible 28. Foo Fieterz of the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Heddic Volunnar of the Concord Radstags finished third.

Heddic Volunnar - Concord Radstags - 0 - 28

SCA Rookie - For several weeks the rumor mill had it that the 2310 Red Rocket Rookie Award winner was a foregone conclusion and the trophy would go to FHE left fielder, Makin Jobear. It is no longer a rumor -- the South Charles Association made it official today.

Jobear won the award by hitting .354 and collecting 172 hits, 34 home runs, 94 RBIs and 56 walks. He scored 89 runs and posted a .418 on-base percentage.

He received 28 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Gladder Questseeker of the Quincy Gunners finished second in voting, while Hax Kim of the Vault 81 Dwellers finished third.

NCA Reliever - The Fallon's Reliever Award goes to the North Charles Association reliever who put forward the strongest season.

This season, that player was Wick Prater of the County Crossing Bloodbugs, who was above all his peers in 2310.

"I just feel like the ball was doing what I wanted it to this year and I was in command most nights out there," he said. "Some days you don't have your best stuff, but I didn't have too many of those days this year."

On the season, Prater pitched 59.1 innings, with 58 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.58. He also had 38 saves in 56 relief appearances.

He received 20 first place votes out of a possible 28. Machine Man Fortune of the Salem Witch Hats finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while David AntAgonist Kidd of the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys finished third with 2 first place votes.

Player - Team - First Place - Total Points
Wick Prater - County Crossing Bloodbugs - 20 - 122

The 33-year-old out of Taunton, Massachusetts fashioned a 3.00 ERA this season over 60 innings of work. He made 50 relief appearances and had 35 saves, 41 strikeouts, 27 walks and a record of 1 win and 6 losses.

CBO Draft Preview

The following was an earlier mock draft. Please note that some of the 14 teams joining the Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League also had players declared eligible for the draft. We first wrote this report in early October following a report put out by the OSA, so the projected draft order will have changed.

Mock Draft Predictions – Top Ten Picks
1. Malden – LF/SP Alchemist Hall, New Bedford – Currently out with a knee injury which will eliminate his winter practice sessions. OSA scouts see the Grognaks pulling the trigger on Hall. Scouts see him as a plus-plus contact to power with the chance to hit .333 and hit 30 home runs when fully developed. He can play anywhere in the outfield. As a pitcher, Hall seemed to turn the corner in his junior season, dropping his ERA from 5.85 to 2.53. He throws three pitches with his cutter being his best pitch. Being a two-way player is the reason scouts see him as the top player in the draft.
2. Glowing Sea – C Red Jay Jones, Beantown – A power-hitting catcher who could also play either corner infield position, Jones is best known for his big bat. Scouts see him as a premier power hitter who can hit the ball to any field. He will need to work on seeing the best pitches, but if he reaches potential, he will be high value.
3. Southie – 1B Tony Quarterly, Winchester University – Predicted to be the highest college player taken since joining the CBO ranks, Quarterly only had one season so far in the BCAC (now CCBL) but dominated with a .352/23/61 line. Quarterly often swings at just about anything, something he will need to work on at the next level.
4. Cambridge – CF Natick Inhousing, Lexington – Injured for a good portion of his senior year, scouts do not think that time missed will cost Inhousing in the draft. When on, he can pound pitchers for hits and homers. He may not be a power hitter, but he can spray the ball through strong line drives, meaning he could be a future competitor for batting titles. He’s not the fastest guy, but Inhousing does a good job of locating the ball on defense and getting to it. He could move into left field in the pros, but he would not be a bad center fielder, either.
5. Atom – RF Naga Arakaki, Concord – Blessed with great bat-to-ball skills, Arakaki could compete for just about any offensive category when fully developed. He will need to cut down on his swings and misses, though, which could mean leading the league in strikeouts. He can play either corner outfield position, but he will never win a Corvega Award there.
6. FHE – 2B Trog Alderod, Seekonk – Alderod is an interesting pick this high up. He is great at hitting home runs, hitting 28 in his senior season with the Quahog. However, he strikes out a lot and is typically a home run or bust hitter. In the field, he is OK, if not a bit below average on defense. He played some SS with Seekonk but felt more comfortable playing at 2B.
7. Concord – SS Gav Ingidree, Plymouth – Ingidree is one of the most defensively talented players in the draft, able to play a number of positions but most likely to play SS or 2B in the pros. He will never light up the stat board with his bat, but he is capable of hitting anywhere with the occasional home run.
8. Fort Hagen – CF Jay Gabby, Westfleet – Another good defensive player, Gabby can handle the centerfield position with ease. He can play anywhere in the outfield, so that will help him get on the field sooner. His bat will need work, but he should be able to hold his own as a hitter. He would need to develop a lot better eye skills to ever be a leadoff hitter, but he could be a bottom of the lineup hitter who nabs a few bases and produces extra runs for his team. This pick in the draft could be the lowest we see Gabby going.
9. Diamond City – CF Keepuh Knockin, Andrew Station – Another decent outfielder, Knockin is not as speedy but can cover a decent amount of ground in the outfield. Scouts believe his natural position may be LF, so the team that drafts him might move him there. Knockin is great at earning a free pass with the bat in hand. His recognition of the strike zone is the best in the draft. If he develops, Knockin would be a valuable player on both offense and defense.
10. Lexington – 2B Glove Payton, Harwich – He’s called the “Glove” for a reason. He may be the second-best all-around defensive player of the draftees behind Ingidree. Payton can play pretty much any position but catcher. Payton is also a good all-around hitter. He will wait for his pitch and then drive it a mile. Pitchers have to be precise when facing him, a skill that should translate at upper levels.

First pitcher taken – SP Chase Seashores, CIT Academy - #21, Sunshine Tidings – Seashores has four pitches that he balanced well in the youth leagues. We would call him a top-ten pick since he has shown he can be an elite pitcher, registering a 1.27 ERA his senior year. Unfortunately, he has also battled injuries in the past two seasons, starting only 17 games over that stretch. If he can stay healthy, Seashores has the talent to develop into an ace in the CBO.

Why a 1st-rounder? – 1B Tram Melstu, New Bedford - #25, Vault 81 – Melstu became less productive in time. Scouts believe it was because Melstu was working on changing up his batting approach in preparation for the draft. He hit just .267/15/43 his senior season, but scouts still think he could be a top home run hitter if he develops fully for the CBO. Scouts think he could potentially hit 35+ home runs per season, so they see something we do not when looking just at the numbers.

Why not a 1st rounder? – 3B Tommy Whitetiger, CIT Academy - #33, Atom – Sure, he is projected toward the top of the 2nd round, but Whitetiger was a dangerous hitter that teams avoided. After being banged up in his junior season, teams tried to pitch around him as often as possible in his senior season. Scouts think he becomes too impatient at the plate, but they also see him as one of, if not the most talented power hitters in the draft. He has the strength to go deep in any field, and could be the premier corner IF in this draft. The mock has him as the 10th 3B/1B taken.

Pitcher worth watching – SP Macho Lopez, Lynn Pier - #4-13 Nahant – Lopez has shown steady improvement over his youth league career. OSA sees him as a 4th-rounder, but Lopez ended his 2310 campaign with a 10-8 record and a 3.05 ERA. He is still developing all three of his pitches, but he has shown the ability to place his pitches well at times. Should he develop, scouts think he could be a #2 or #3 pitcher in the rotation.

Five college players to watch (Note: we added this to the report today):

OSA and team scouts had workout sessions to look for players newly declared for the 2310 Rookie Draft once they were cleared by the CBO front office. Of the newcomers to the draft-eligible prospects, these are five that the OSA thought could go high in the draft.

1. CF Candy Kline, Nuka U - Scouts think he has the potential to be a Top 10 pick after watching his workout. He is fast and fluid, both covering a lot of ground in the outfield and wrecking bases on the path. He showed a lot of patience in recognizing pitches, showing that he could be an OBP dream. He hustled throughout the sessions, showing he is a high-motor, high-energy player.
2. RF Dump Truck Matthews, Glowing Sea College - Matthews was considered draft-eligible after his freshman season with the Glowing Ones. He finished the season hitting .322 with a home run, 24 RBI, 46 runs, and 18 stolen bases. He can play any outfield position but projects as a right fielder despite his blazing speed. He is considered a top-of-the-lineup project due to his even swing. While he may develop more strength in his body, his attributes will be average and OBP.
3. RF Buttons Bunterson, Revere College - A corner OF, Bunterson has shown hints of being a high contact, high power hitter. He is not going to lead the league in homers due to his build, so he may project as a LF who bats somewhere around 7th in the lineup. With that stated, he could be a very good 7th hitter with the propensity to hit for average. He will not steal bases but he is not the slowest player on the team, either.
4. 1B Tiger McQuaid, Assumption University - McQuaid showed in the independent circuit that he can be a dangerous hitter. Should he fully develop his skills, scouts believe he can hit above .300 and provide a good number of homers for a team. He may not be cleanup hitter material, but he will be a nightmare to pitch against.
5. SP Mean David Green, Mass Atlantic University - Green is in the mode of pitching balls that cannot be hit. He already has CBO-level control of his three pitches, including a knuckle curve that batters cannot square up. Should he pitch for a team with a good defense behind him and a catcher that can snag balls bouncing off the dirt, he could be a premier pitcher who leads the league in groundouts and double plays forced. Scouts see him as 1st-round potential whose ceiling is probably as a #2 starter in the rotation, someone to follow the ace throwing heat the day before.
