I went with what Chickazoola said... but I tried to go with the names written in the article and I can't find the guy (#7 is completely in the shadows), forget about that one whoever he was we can't see him in that group picture. It almost felt like Chickazoola ignored those shadow people...

Ben Guiney
Ben Guiney played three games for the Detroit Wolverines, one in 1883 and two in 1884. He went 1 for 12.
The picture may be of an older Ben (given the hairline and gaunt features). I tried to have him look more like a 24-year-old as that was his MLB age. The two AI pics I liked are shown for reference too. The "before" was just one of those fake "Bickford" faces. Those will all be removed from the CUF pack when I complete the audit btw. I found them all today. There were 932 of them out of the 48,129 faces that went out on opening day. There is now one less.

Edit: I play my simulation at the same time I do the FGs I send you and let me tell you one thing... 1884 is a total mess ![]() Not only I must create teams from scratch as usual but I must compare the ratings of a ton of rookie players from those teams (BUF, COL, IND, RIC and TOL) with OOTP23 and correct them in OOTP24 because those players info are missing in the database!!! I must also do the schedule from scratch but I'm use to it...

LansdowneSt I can't get his mustache to look good but it shouldn't be a huge challenge for you...
Jimmy Woulfe Setting 1884 in my simulation sure took me some time (this is all I did yesterday)... honestly merging the major league and minor league databases in OOTP24 look like a huge mistake to me.

Jimmy Woulfe
If Joseph Bokenfohr had not been a crack baseball pitcher twenty-five years ago, there probably would be no sorrow to-day among the clients of James J. Woulfe and others who ensured their savings to him, for Boenfohr put Woulfe out of the baseball game. Had Woulfe's career on the diamond extended a few years longer probably he never would have become a notary public, and consequently there would have been no forgeries or defalcations.
"Jimmy" Woulfe had graduated from the town lots and the schoolboy nines into the Robert E. Lees [of New Orleans baseball club], and there he quickly won a reputation as a ball player. He was one of the very best batters of that day, and was a fast outfielder. ... His fame extended far away from New Orleans, and after one season with the Lees he was called to the North, and was signed by the Cincinnati Reds, then one of the famous baseball teams of the National League. Woulfe played splendid ball for the Reds for a year or two and held his own with all the diamond stars of those days. Then he went to Pittsburgh and played professional ball for that city for some time. There he made as good a showing as he had done in Cincinnati. After the close of the Pittsburgh season Woulfe returned to New Orleans and was a real hero to all the lovers of the game in this city who were familiar with his great showing in the field and at the bat made with the strongest clubs in the north. [He returned from Pittsburgh just in time to play in the deciding game of the local season, with the championship on the line, the Lees introduced Woulfe as their left fielder against the rival Acid Iron Earths of Mobile.] [The Mobile pitcher, Bokenfohr, struck him out four times] It was a new experience for the mighty slugger of the National League and the crowd got to jeering him. As he struck out for the fourth time, retiring his side for the ninth inning, and with the game lost to the Lees, Woulfe threw down his bat in a fit of disgust, and swore that never again would he play baseball, and never did. [He instead became a notary]... Had it not been for Bokenfohr, Woulfe's clients this morning might not be bemoaning the loss of their money. - The Times-Democrat, 20 February 1913 Here is something close. It's tough to get any moustache vertical as the software wants it to come down as you get the face proportions correct. The "before" was just a fake Bickford placeholder face. For those curious, notary Woulfe was assisting with mortgages, cancelling them, remortgaging the same property... repeat. I didn't keep reading through the subsequent reporting to see what fate befell him. Shoulda made contact in that last at-bat, I guess. Oh, and as for his glories on the diamonds of the North... he played one year, 1884, Reds and Alleghenys, 11 hits, 87 AB for a .126 average. That's a -4 OPS+ and -1.0 WAR.

LansdowneSt do you think you can do something with that guy? Henry Oxley
No FG in the database so anything is better than nothing... I tried but my result was way too dark to worth adding it. BTW maybe you miss my help needed for Al Bauer yesterday since we made a post at the same time...

Hey Lans,
I sent you a PM but couldn't figure out how to attach an image, so I'm just posting how Jackie appears on my Mac here. |

I'm not sure what to do about the Mac facegen issue. As you know, it lightens and washes the facegens out and has for years. I'd love to better understand from OOTP what the how and why is for that.
Here's how he is on my PC. On File>Settings>Facegen, I have both facegen detail settings at the highest level (and recommend the same to all). I also have the HDR setting toggle as "on" via the monitor settings but aside from that there is nothing fancy about my PC display. How do other African-American players look on a Mac? Any other examples - ones I made or otherwise. I hate all the Mac representations of a facegen file - doesn't matter who made it or the racial/ethnic background of the player. Mac just can't do it and I don't understand it. As an aside what's his weight in that pic? I thought he had been corrected to 195 from the old 204 lbs. To AESP, I saw the request for Al Bauer and will get to him. Been short on time so did a bunch of guys from the 90s last night as I can do several of those in the time for a single 19th c. guy. I'll work on that other player too.

Sure go faster when we hit the era with good pictures... I was way faster when I was doing the 1969+ FGs for my simulation three or four years ago (sadly I will have to check those too since all where done with the first name_family name old method).

This is what I have on file... this is from my OOTP23 folder so I hope the id is the same with this year version.
My FG for the other three aren't that great, so I'll wait to see if LansdowneSt post something for Gillespie, Keck and Markle before posting mine.
