Yup, I'll always continue to have a download that is just my pack. And yes, now that I'm admin of the CUF pack, it's interesting to go through and really see how much work needs to be done. I think it will take me all year, but I hope to cull the pack of all duplicate and dead (misnamed) files. That won't solve the ones that are "awful", but that's a much, much longer process. I expect the next CUF (and my pack update) to be over Memorial Day Weekend. I'll post here when they are up (and update Steam's CUF pack then as well).

If you feel like having more fun I have another one for you... Caleb Johnson
My FG is, to be honest, kind of boring and not really looks like him Edit: BTW would you like to get the FGs I did for the National Association (1871-75) to compare to what is in the database and replace if better.

Jim Panther
Although pitcher Jim Panther never appeared on a Topps baseball card, he nonetheless was able to stake a claim in baseball history as one of the original members of the Texas Rangers. After his relatively brief big-league career came to an unceremonious end, a new career in baseball began for Panther as a decorated high-school coach. “Yep, you can take Jim Panther out of baseball, but you can never take baseball out of Jim Panther,” sportswriter Patricia Babcock McGraw wrote – a fitting way to describe a man who has dedicated his life to the game. - SABR
Best I could do to keep the thin frames.

William Johnson (formerly misidentified as Caleb Johnson)
William Johnson was long misidentified as "Caleb Johnson".
A player named "Johnson" played 13 games for the Cleveland Forest Citys in 1871. He played both infield and outfield as a backup, appearing in somewhat more than half the Cleveland games. Traditionally, that playing record was attributed to Caleb Johnson, born in 1844, who would have been the oldest player on the team. Caleb Johnson, who later became a lawyer, was in fact a ballplayer right after the Civil War, but there is little other evidence that connects him to the Forest Citys. After digging into the available record, researcher Peter Morris became convinced that "Johnson" had been misidentified. A more likely candidate to be the mystery player is W.P. Johnson, who first played for the Forest Citys when they were still an amateur team back in 1868. Described as a banker, he was normally a second baseman but not a regular member of the club; instead, he was used in certain games when players were required. When the team became fully professional in 1870, Gene Kimball became the regular second baseman, but Johnson continued to hang around and was apparently still there when the team joined the National Association in 1871. All game accounts from those years imply that Johnson was a local boy, a further mark against Caleb Johnson, who was from Illinois and would normally have received mention as an "import", had he been the ballplayer in question. Given his work in banking, W.P. Johnson was identified from city directories as William Penn Johnson, born in 1848 in Parma, OH. Indeed, his obituary, published after his death in 1909 mentions that he was a ballplayer for Cleveland in his younger days. - bRef Bullpen wiki I posted the name and bio change request in the Historical db thread already. The picture with the mustache is of him as a banker. The lone baseball picture we have has him without facial hair, so lacking personality or not, that was how he looked. The before is from the CUF pack, so yes, I probably need to get more of the ones you redid, AESP. I had already dug into "Caleb's" history so made one based on that lone picture of him.

Clipper Flynn
William Flynn (1849-1881) was one of the remarkable group of early baseball players to come out of Lansingburg (Troy) NY. This small town had an out-sized impact on the game as amateur ball was being born on a national scale right after the Civil War. Flynn was a first-baseman for the Troy Haymakers from 1867-69 before joining teammates in Chicago with the White Stockings in 1870, all with the National Association of Base Ball Players. He became part of the first openly professional sports league when the Haymakers helped form the NAPBBP in 1871. The following season, Flynn moved south for a brief stint with the D.C. Olympics but the club disbanded after a mere nine games in ‘72. The slightly-built Flynn hit .338 in ‘71, ranking with the leaders on the team. He managed only a .225 average in his final tour with the Washingtons. The 1880 census-taker found “Clipper” home in Lansingburg with his wife and four kids where he worked in a brush factory. - http://arslongaartcards.com/
He passed away at the age of 32. A random 1871 player.

Harry Deane
Harry Deane played for and managed the Fort Wayne Kekiongas for part of the 1871 season, and later played for the Baltimore Canaries in 1874. He had previously been a backup player in the outfield for the 1870 Cincinnati Red Stockings, before the creation of the National Association, and since that was a famous team, he had likely played amateur ball before that. - bRef Bullpen wiki
Picked a random 19th c. one to do. Turned out I was able to eliminate one of those "Bickford" placeholder pics with this one. Used the AI to clean it up and face him toward me. The chin seemed wider on the original file and, as always, I always work the fg sliders to conform to the original as much as I can.

Your Harry Deane sure looks better than mine (his mustache gave me trouble) and Johnson looks less ridiculous than the guy with the huge beard I tried to work with (even with the AI the result was unconvincing)...
I check the FGs id to make sure everyrhing is labelled with the historical minor id and I'll send a link your way. |

Paul Lindblad could use a new facegen, whether it be from his younger days or the 70's. Of course I prefer the latter for the facial hair. Starting with the Mustache Gang, Lindblad apparently kept his 'stache through the 70's, into his days with the Rangers and Yankees as well.

Lester Dole
Lester Dole played only one game, at age 19, for the 7-40 1875 New Haven Elm Citys. He hit .500. - bRef Bullpen wiki
I told the AI to turn him to face me and take a few years off. The results all consistently looked like the two examples. I debated making him more gaunt but, really, there's no way of knowing. In the AI iterations, he reminds me a bit of Stephen Stucker from the movie Airplane!, but I digress. He looked young enough once I got the facegen of him, so looks good to me. Challenge met :P The "before" pic is skipped as it was just that placeholder face again.

Mike Dorgan
LansdowneSt certainly not a big challenge for you but it's another case of 19th century mustache I can't really do well... could you give him a try since it's an important player from that period. PS: It's part of the new FGs I redo to send you so he isn't the one in the current database... my next batch will be 1877-81.

Bill McClellan
I don't think I did a bad job but I'm not satisfied (the face on the picture I worked with wasn't that big)... Wonder if you could rework him to remove the bright orange over the eyes and that black spot under the chin that appeared out of nowhere. FWIW I add the picture I took but I have a feeling you will use the AI with the BBRef pic (I knind of know you enough to know you won't use my FG even if I put it in the post).

Mike Dorgan
Mike Dorgan was the older brother of major league outfielder Jerry Dorgan, who died at an extremely young age of alcohol poisoning. Both brothers dealt with a severe alcohol problem during their playing days, but Mike eventually won the battle. - SABR
Dorgan played a decade in the majors. He was added to the "black list" at a 1881 National League meeting barring him from playing for or against any NL team but was reinstated in 1883. Afterwards, he joined the New York Giants, with whom he hit .326 in 1885. His career was eventually ended by a knee injury. Dorgan never wore a glove or catcher's mask, instead choosing to wear a small rubber glove and a piece of rubber to protect his mouth. - bRef Bullpen wiki My favorite fun fact: The April 18, 1891 issue of The Sporting News trumpeted that Dorgan was incarcerated in Syracuse after beating a man “to a pulp” in a drunken brawl. He may have been surprised to see an old teammate, Moses Fleetwood Walker, in an adjoining cell. Walker, an African American who caught for Syracuse in 1888–1889, was arrested – and later acquitted by virtue of self-defense – for stabbing to death one of several drunken thugs who’d accosted him on the street. - SABR Here's my go at him. The before is the current CUF one.

Yiddi Cappe
Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 50 | Run: 55 | Arm: 60 | Field: 50 | Overall: 50
Yiddi Cappe defected from Cuba in late 2018 and by the time MLB cleared him as a free agent, most teams already had committed their bonus pool cash for the 2019-20 signing period. One of top prospects in that class, he opted to wait until the 2020-21 period opened in January 2021 and landed a $3.5 million bonus from the Marlins. He slashed .290/.328/.438 with nine homers and 13 steals in his 67-game U.S. debut last season, split between Rookie ball and Single-A. Cappe has a sound right-handed swing and good feel for the barrel, giving him some of the best bat-to-ball skills in the system. Though he has had no problems making contact, his aggressive, pull-happy approach does cut into his walk totals and could be exploited at higher levels. As a 6-foot-3 shortstop, he garnered physical comparisons to Carlos Correa as an amateur, but he needs to add strength in order to make good on his power projection and deliver 20 or more homers per season. There's some question as to whether Cappe may outgrow shortstop. He has solid speed and nice actions at short, but he could lose a step if he eventually adds 40 pounds of muscle to his lean frame. Though the game has sped up on him a bit during his limited action at third base, he has the plus arm for the position and could become a solid defender there with experience. - mlb.com Pipeline Hope this will work. I'll redo it if he ever makes the bigs
